I’ve been thinking of doing a solo Disney cruise and this video was really helpful. Thank you. I’ve been looking after my elderly mother and in the past two years havre had to sell her house and move her twice (once to assisted living, then to long term care). She has advanced dementia and Parkinsons. They call dementia “the longest goodbye”. Taking care of her day to day living has been exhausting and I’m thinking that when her struggle is over, I just want to go to a happy place, on my own, to process everything. The Disney Wish looks perfect!
Great overview Jen! I am not a "kid" person overall, but when I am in Disney I absolutely love to watch the children with their wide eyed amazement. Your last video series really made me want to do a Disney cruise. You and Coral had such a good time, and it was fun to watch. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us!
I have low tolerance being around kids, but I was fine solo on the Magic. Dealing with the kids on the ship was far more pleasant than the kids in the parks. I enjoyed watching the kids getting excited meeting characters.
Great advice! My 1st Disney cruise was in 1999 with my kids to the Bahamas. It was great! But the last 2 Disney cruises was with my sister & we are seniors we loved it! One out of NYC & one out of San Diego. If you love Disney, no matter what age you are, you will love it!
Loved this format! The “Rick Steves” style voiceovers allow you to jam pack so many fantastic tips into this video. Thank you- it helps so much with planning!
I really liked this overview format! So much good and helpful information in here! I can definitely see myself continuing to sail Disney cruise line even after my kids are grown!
This makes me think of our experiences at "adults only" vs "family" resorts. After doing adults only properties for YEARS we travelled with 2 other couples and their kids to a family resort back in 2018. Ironically, the aduts only SECTIONS of the family resorts were so much less crowded than any of the spots at the fully adult resorts. We acutally found that we enjoyed it more because there was much less competition :P
3rd cruise coming up in less than 3 weeks!! Love your review. Excited to go with my granddaughters ( 3 and 6). We have our costumes and outfits picked out.
Could NOT agree more! I think the other thing about these ships is that there’s so many ADD ON features that you simply don’t have to do, and they can be “affordable” if you want it to be.
But when you compare it to literally every other cruise line, it’s not only not affordable, but you’re getting an actual luxury experience on other line for the same price point. If you’re going to spend more than $3k just on the base fare per person, I don’t understand why any adult without kids coming along would actually choose DCL. I’m honestly baffled by it, even as a Disney adult
Great capture of the adults only Disney cruise, Jen. We had the same experience in 2016. We did not do the day pass at the spa so that’s something to definitely look into next time! We loved that lounge with the city lights! Except for our Remy and Palo dinners, we were there every night after the theater show.
I don’t have children and yet the only cruise that I have ever wanted to take is a Disney cruise! I don’t like casinos and really loud night-clubby places (thinking of some videos I have seen about Virgin) and also as a single woman, I somehow feel that I would be more comfortable on a Disney cruise and less likely to need to fend off unwanted attention. Not sure if that would be 100% correct, but it just seems like it would be a little safer. One day I will take the plunge and book a cruise! Thank you for your videos!
Love this video so much! We haven’t done a Disney cruise yet but we are heavily thinking about it in hopefully the near future. It’s been on our minds here recently so your video is well-timed haha!
Randomly, we’re sailing concierge on our next Wish cruise and we were able to get our length of cruise rainforest pass ahead of time…which is a random perk that isn’t advertised at all as a concierge benefit.
@@JenLefforge yeah, I didn’t know it was something that could be done ahead of time, but it showed up in the app for me when the concierge booking window opened. I had the concierge team do all the other things but I was going through the app with my husband to check if there was anything else we wanted to do and saw it so 🤷🏽♀️. Certainly nabbed that as soon as I saw it!
I THINK I remembered you asking about how we like this format? I like it! Feels a lot more "professional" in that DFB way (minus musical background) and less "come along with me" which I like too.
what an INCREDIBLE video! so watchable and enjoyable. I know we dont like the word influencer, but, boy oh boy, am i being influenced! You made a Disney cruise look so inviting and relaxing and adult friendly. great job!
I have taken 7 solo Disney cruises, with a few more booked in the upcoming year. I love them! People are very friendly and sociable, especially in adult spaces. However, there is plenty of solo time when I want and need it to decompress and enjoy some quiet. I love being at sea, having served in the Navy for 20 years, and DCL provides me the best of both Disney and being on a ship. Plus, the military discounts are really nice! Thanks for doing a video like this. So many people think it is just a cruise for families with young kids running around everywhere and that just isn't the case in my experience at all.
I have loved every one of my solo Disney cruises and yes to the decompression! We once met a guy sailing alone on Disney that was working on a screenplay and found it the perfect writers retreat. I can totally see that!!
Thanks for this video! We’re planning on a cruise for our 25th anniversary and really want to do a a Disney cruise but weren’t sure if we would enjoy it as an adult couple. I so appreciate your insights - there aren’t many content creators covering this topic! (and we’re definitely in favor of a Disney cruise now!)😊
Loved this video!! I would love to see other Disney for adults! I love to go with my husband! Most other Disney “adult” videos are all about drinking 😩
I have done 11 cruises all on Disney. Many with family or friends and lately solo. I have always felt safe and well taken care of. All my experiences have been wonderful but as you said many ask me why Disney? I have only used my dvc points and been to many destinations. Don’t know if I want to cruise on any other ships because I am spoiled 🙂
This had so much valuable information! I have only been on one cruise, but would like to get hubby on one since we've retired. Just wanted to ask if you have ever experienced sea sickness & what to do.... Thanks so much! :D
The new ships have amazing stabilizers and sea sickness is rare but I’ve heard a lot of people wear those bands to help? Great question and I’m not much help as I’ve never been sea sick.
Great video. I did notice on my last cruise that the kids clubs were very limited with their hours because we were on a 4 night with only one day at sea and that was the last day. Many passengers were commenting that this caused their kids to not want to just be in the kids clubs when they were open so there were many families that just stuck together this last cruise as opposed to my first cruise where you only saw kids at the deck parties and getting on and off the ship besides dinner lol. I do the early dinner because my stomach can't do late. There were plenty of opportunities for adults only trivia contests and even an 18 + animation class that one person brought their kid to while Disney didn't kick the kid out they made several comments about it supposed to be an 18+ class.
This video is well done and very slick. That said, I prefer less “professional” and more “personal” format. I fell in love with your channels because I felt a connection with you during Covid. And I miss that content. You do you, but just sharing my feedback because you had asked on Insta I think.
Jen thank you so much for this overview! We are planning a honeymoon and after our Disneyland Paris engagement (oh yes, every bit as romantic as you’d hope), I was thinking Disney cruise for honeymoon. I will check out Viking now too though x
@@JenLefforge Thanks Jen, from watching you over the years I really value your opinion! Many friends have been on cruises and highly recommend them but I know my expectations are not the same as theirs (no judgement, just different). It’s a big outlay for such an unknown quantity.
When it comes to the cruise lines that target our demographic (age range), I've only tried Princess. That was when I met my favorite cruise UA-camr. I need to try Celebrity & Holland America. This is so that I can have the most adult experience, the quieter and more chill environment.
I wouldn’t mind trying a Disney cruise just to try it, but their itinerary selection is pretty subpar compared to others, especially if you’ve been to the Caribbean on cruises a lot. With that said I wouldn’t mind trying the Disney entertainment because it looks fun and of a high production value compared even to RCL
Do you think the food in the older ships has gone down in quality? We did the dream this week and I felt the reviews and did not match our dining experience. Except Palo. 🤣
I’m disabled and an adult so I don’t know if you know this but Viking does not have anything to do with the American with disabilities act so I can’t go on there ❤😊!!😊
I like this format for this type of video although I enjoy the 'talking head' videos more because it feels a bit more personal. I watch your videos not just for the content but also because I enjoy your 'realness' in front of the camera.
Yes, I'm a subscriber on both your channels and I do prefer the Joyful Living videos more...I found you thru that channel. I really enjoy watching your content so thanks for all of your hard work and efforts...they bring me joy!
There’s no such thing as an adults only Disney cruise, this is just cruising on a Disney ship when you don’t have kids with you. Pretty misleading since it’s going to show up in searches for adult only cruising with the title used. There’s only a few spaces that are adult only, the rest of the ship and spaces are filled with kids and families.
It’s just as important for children to be around adults as adults around children. Children learn from adults weather we like it or not… Children being around responsible ( ish) adults learn how to act and react in certain situations and circumstances…. Yes it’s great to have adult time and activities but I think children get a lot of socialising with adults especially on holiday.. Great video with many interesting facets …👍🇬🇧

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about this! It's really helpful as I am hoping to add more adult only trips to my vacation planning!
If not for the children who would I crush in Disney poolside trivia.
It’s true though
Just started. Looking forward to this one. Our first Disney cruise is April 2024. We don't have children.
We LOVE Disney cruising as a couple! Just lovely. And Scott doesn't even like cruising but he had a ball on ours.

Thank you! Your videos are always excellent. Looking forward to our first cruise this July, with my husband, and (by the time we sail), 19 y/o.

That's wonderful, Trish! Happy planning!
Great video! I’ll be sailing on the Wish in May with my family for our first Disney cruise and we are so excited!
You will love it!! Such a beautiful ship!
My wife and I just did the 3 night Wish for our 27th anniversary, and I agree that it works for adults as much as families.
Could NOT agree more! I think the other thing about these ships is that there’s so many ADD ON features that you simply don’t have to do, and they can be “affordable” if you want it to be.
Yeah you can add some things and give the whole cruise a very upscale feeling fairly easily!
But when you compare it to literally every other cruise line, it’s not only not affordable, but you’re getting an actual luxury experience on other line for the same price point. If you’re going to spend more than $3k just on the base fare per person, I don’t understand why any adult without kids coming along would actually choose DCL. You're too kind! Thank you!
Thank you for the very helpful video, Jen! I've been thinking about a Disney cruise and this makes me want to book one immediately lol.
Thanks for the great review! My husband and I are taking our first Disney cruise on the Wish in September. ♥️
I hope you have an amazing time!
Agree with all you are saying Jen. Hubby and I went as a couple last April and we have so much fun! Thank you for all that you do

I like this style for a recap video but I love the vlog style for the day-to-day.

Yes this is 100% true and it is far less of a party scene for sure BECAUSE it’s a family ship and it’s why I love it for solo travel!!! Great points!
Great video! Definitely on my bucketlist. Do you know if there are multiple smoking/vaping areas on the ships?
Thank you Jen!
I loved this style of video! We’re also adult only cruisers and am dyyyying to get back on a DCL ship!
Thanks for watching, Ivieanne!! And SAME and I just got home 😂❤️
