"Failure is just an opportunity to learn." I like it! Exactly what the sport of Brazilian jiu jitsu taught me! And that attitude can be applied on everything.
Well I think it benefits those who are trying to learn to see that no matter how much experience you have things can still go wrong. Never stop learning, that's what is important.
Taking risks is part of the fun of doing any custom job. If it's your own personal project, why not? I dig the rusty steampunk color and the fretboard work. She sounds good! Nice job.
Looks good! Failure is always an option. I just spent 3 days failing at trying to add a piezo system into a thinline style guitar I just built. Looks like I'll head back to the drawing board on that one. Keep it up man, I always enjoy seeing what you're working on.
The first guitar I tried to do a custom finish on was a Bullet series Squier Strat I got for free. I used a belt sander on the body and got the wood too hot. The glue melted and the body literally fell apart in 3 pieces. Oh well... thats how we learn.
Thanks for watching, I didn't miss the opportunity, I prefer them black. Plus when I did the headstock I had no idea what I was going to do with the body, the original plan was to paint the guitar metallic red.
It's fun playing with customizing my guitars. I always use test piece of wood to save from surprises. That effect is called orange peel which I think looks kinda cool. Keep the bumps bro
It is the same as wiring up all actives you just have no red b+ wire for the middle(passive) pickup. I didn't use any particular wiring diagram but I am sure you can find one on Google. Thanks for watching!
Man!!...I think that Axe is a real killer “Rat Rod” style Hot Rod of an Ibanez 470.!!! Came out Nice!! Loved the video man,..so honest and well put as you progressed. I’d say your “experiment project” turned out COOL!...I’m doing the same,..on an Ibanez 470 but going for a “Universe in Space” theme! Wish me luck ‘cause it will also be my first attempt at Painting & Hydro-Dipping...🙏🏽👨🏽🎨🎨🎸✨ (Although,..I should mention that I did a “Candy Blue Flamed” Bass that came out well!..) 👍🏽✌🏽
Thanks so much! I would love to see the project you're working on, sounds cool and I have always been interested in hydro-dipping. Feel free to come back and drop me a link!
Thanks for the tip Scott, while I have seen people do that I have also seen people warp and crack their bodies thanks to the heat. I wouldn't recommend it for cheaper bodies.
"Because its my guitar and i want to learn". Thats how i live man.
It's a good motto to live by. What is life but a chance to learn?
"Failure is just an opportunity to learn." I like it! Exactly what the sport of Brazilian jiu jitsu taught me! And that attitude can be applied on everything.
That's really cool, you are right in showing that everything doesn't always work out. A good many channels edit out stuff like that.

Thanks man and as always I appreciate you watching! I know this one was a long one.
I have to admit that I wasn’t impressed with the color, but after seeing the finished product, I actually did like it. Great job! Nice playing too.
Thanks man, I was just playing around with ideas. I dig it, an with time maybe I can try it again with different color combinations, who knows?
I’m digging it man and loving your videos !!.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment.

Wow, that's crazy! Never heard of that happening. Must have been some serious heat.
Looks great. I personally wouldn't have added the teal color, makes it look moldy almost. And why'd you miss the opportunity to match the headstock?
Thanks for watching, I didn't miss the opportunity, I prefer them black. Plus when I did the headstock I had no idea what I was going to do with the body, the original plan was to paint the guitar metallic red.
I like the look.
If only all failures were this good. 👍
That finish looks really cool. I might have to do something similar to one of mine.

for the right person it would be a great aesthetic. maple fretboard strat headstock with the black hardware, adrian smith style
Does redoing the paint like that affect the way the guitar resonates? If so, for better or for worse?
Not it any noticeable way on an electric guitar.
Can you share the wiring diagram for the 5 way selector with active and passive?
It is the same as wiring up all actives you just have no red b+ wire for the middle(passive) pickup. I didn't use any particular wiring diagram but I am sure you can find one on Google. Thanks for watching!
Background music towards the end whoever is singing sounds like Maynard a hell of a lot...
It's my old band Orphic, the singer was a big tool...fan.

Super cool video man, it's good to finally see someone who knows what they're doing on youtube. quick question, did you do all the coats in one night?
Thank you! I believe it was over the course of two to three days.

@@jensenparker5504 Do it man, you got this.

Top tip for next time, don’t bother sanding off polyester finishes, hit them with a heat gun and they’ll flake off in no time.
Thanks for the tip Scott, while I have seen people do that I have also seen people warp and crack their bodies thanks to the heat. I wouldn't recommend it for cheaper bodies.
If it were me id had sanded it all back down and just went with the copper or the red. But i like your videos. Sub'd
BRIDGE ?
Are you asking what kind of bridge?
@@ForsytheVideo What is model?
@@PGMPARAGUAI The bridge was a licensed Floyd rose.
For those people who have ocd disorder.. that would be a catastrophe.... but looks like you are satisfied with it why not
Guess I have normal disorder
