Many slaveholders were "raised to believe" a slave was not human, and any master had legal rights to "also dispose of it" as they pleased. Wealthy plantation owners "like President Jackson" exploited their congressional power-"like VP Harris"-to grow and expand a more progressive political system-of reproductive labor markets-to more U.S. states-because abusive enslavers believed more "labor is an inconvenience" to freemen and women in a wealthy lifestyle.

Why didn't Democrats codify Roe when they had the opportunity? How many decades did they have to get the job done?
When specifically did they "have the opportunity"?
@@randominternetuser2888 they controlled the house, senate, and presidency during Obama at one point
Codifying a law involves several key steps to systematically organize and consolidate existing laws into a coherent code. Here’s a general overview of the process:
1. Research and Collection: Gather all existing laws, statutes, and regulations related to the subject matter. This includes judicial decisions and legislative acts.
2. Drafting: Create a draft that organizes these laws into a logical and systematic format. This often involves rewriting and consolidating the language to ensure clarity and consistency.
3. Stakeholder Input: Seek feedback from relevant stakeholders, including legal experts, government officials, and sometimes the public. This helps identify any issues or gaps in the draft.
4. Review and Revision: Revise the draft based on the feedback received. This step may involve multiple rounds of review and editing to refine the code.
5. Legislative Approval: Present the final draft to the relevant legislative body (e.g., Congress) for approval. This may involve debates, amendments, and votes.
6. Publication: Once approved, the codified law is published in an accessible format, such as a legal code or book of law, making it official and authoritative.
Codification helps streamline and simplify the legal system, making laws easier to understand and apply.

A D&C is different than an abortion. A D&C was never illegal. Just a public service announcement from someone that works in the medical field.
Reproductive freedom is not being denied. Lots of choices an individual can make that have nothing to do with the government. Abstinence, birth control, adoption, marriage, etc. All other forms of healthcare for women and men, apparently, citizen or not T are available on every other block. Get Real.
thanks for not calling the taking of life "healthcare"
You mean when women have a MISCARRIAGE (yes, that is called a THREATENED OR IMMINENT ABORTION IN MEDICAL TERMS). The foetus is lost (even if they very much wanted to have a baby) and REMNANTS ARE LEFT BEHIND THAT BECOME SEPTIC (infected). If a D/C is not performed, WOMEN CAN DIE. Is that what you mean? LET WOMEN DIE BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT INTERFERES WITH A MEDICAL DECISION THAT SHOULD ALLOW D/C to occur as a part of her MEDICAL TREATMENT?????
It IS healthcare. I HAD to have an abortion to SAVE MY LIFE. IT's healthcare.

When does life begin?
Nobody refusing women rights to have children.
Since the shirt is closer than the jacket, your national priority should be protecting people against state abuse, before taking economical measures. When people feel safe about their immediate (health) situation, the economical measures can be successful on medium and long term. But when people are afraid of imminent trouble, the economy doesn't matter anymore.
That's why Americans should stick to Kamala's strategy to create (finally!) and protect some REAL rights for Americans, real rights like paid maternity leave, education, medical security, child care. Because when people are aware that being healthy is a RIGHT, not a freedom, the progress will follow. I know it is so _because_ I am not American.
Other western nations have been doing those things for decades already. It's not surprising the US lags behind the rest of the free world in things like quality/standard of life, education and basic healthcare for all citizens when half your country votes against any form of social safety net...then claims Ukraine and inflation are the reasons Americans are suffering.
@@pho-kingsoup8126 It's because their system is centered on liberties, not on rights like the civilized countries.
Freedom (or liberties) cannot be granted, it's against their definition. Whereas _rights,_ as "benefits granted unconditionally by society to individuals and protected by the authority of The People" are a very powerful social tool and gives power to people. Liberties are self-conflicting. One's freedom to live healthy is contradicted by hospital's freedom to set the price for treatment.
@@AlbertGuilmont In Canada we have a Charter of Rights and Freedoms which similarly protects citizens. Most western nations have something similar. There's a different mindset in the US. Too many people think only within their own bubble and don't see their country as a whole inclusive of many different ideas and beliefs. We don't have the same hang up of people getting benefit from programs that help us too. Bigotry and racism play a part too and seems to cement America in a bygone era many want to return to.
Women, for the most part, have the freedom to do what it takes to make a baby, or not. THAT is "reproductive freedom."
I always like how these politicians say women have the right to choose what they do with their body's.. Then they want the government to foot the bill. How about the government doesn't get involved your on your own. Figure it out yourself. You play you pay.
