    To my understanding, you no longer can choose an appraiser. I closed on three mortgages in NY. The banks chose the appraisers and I had no say. Regarding Amazon….they were planning to build in a residential area and the residents/mom/pop businesses protested….plus Amazon didn’t want a union….and the deal was killed. I agree with the complexity of permits and the cost of doing business. Just to add some context….Trump valued his penthouse at 30,000 square feet when it is 11,000….this was when you could chose the appraiser. I’m not touching the politics 😊

      You cannot choose an appraiser here in NJ either. Seems like something else would be at play with square footage though. Simple public tax data would show square footage that the lender could and would easily verify. Thanks for watching!

      Let’s consider what Weisselburg his old Finance Chief that’s going back to incarceration soon stated that the square footage discrepancy was “de minimis” Latin for too small to care about when considering a 6 billion dollar evaluation before we point fingers at lenders 😂

    I get the concept of what you’re saying but there is a difference between getting the best real estate valuation you can and literally lying about square footage to get the best real estate valuation you can
    It’s a kin to lying on the job application, they give you the job and you do a great job! Now what typically happens when they find out that you lied on the job application?
