Math on why swan sucks. It costs 3g, this means it takes 3 turns to recover his cost, upgrading him to lvl2 means total of 9 coins, it's 5 turns on lvl2 just to recover the cost, taking into consideration runs end at around round 15, you would need to have the swam since he is available 4 more rounds at lvl1 to start being useful, and loses all capacity for profit if upgraded, it's literally the worst animal in the game and it's base stats are bad.
You're failing to take into account that you're not just buying an effect, you're buying stats, as well as the gold you regain from selling. In the early game, you get tempo from free temporary stats. You definitely don't need to keep a goose for endgame, but you're not taking into account the flow of the entire game.
Counterpoint: Gold storage. Buying a swan for 3g means you get the stats of the swan itself as well as the effect of getting one gold back at the next round. This means if you buy the swan, then sell it next turn you've gained 1g more than any other unit you would have sold. By 2 turns in you can sell it back and make up the amount you lost while still having gotten to use the Swan's stats. The importance of this is in the fact that the 3g you spend on the swan is being used for underaverage value (the swan's stats) but returns itself to you at a later point when better options become available. You would not have had the ability to spend that gold in between rounds which is why it can be important to have the ability to save 2-3g until another time when you need it more. Since all units cost the same amount regardless of tier, you could spend that 3g on a mosquito or you could buy the swan and invest an extra few gold in a few turns towards something like a hippo or ox. That's a more thorough explanation of what the other guy said, anyways.
@@dewybmt I personally find it useful. The swan to me is the plan B. It helps a ton when your build is not yet fully online and you need some extra money over the next few rounds to get back up to scratch. This is especially true the later you get into the game, as more and more pets become available due to higher tiers being unlocked. It also helps for versatility as well, since the extra gold mid to late game decreases the risk involved in switching out existing pets for new ones that may turn out better in the end. However I do agree it is not great for arena. I don't play much of that mode but from what I've played it is impossible to predict what your opponents are going to use, making the versatile options the swan provides a moot point. In the end I suppose it's all about playstile. I don't like to stick to one team if I see a better one that I can build up instead. Risk and rewards, I suppose.
I wish I could get into this, but my Pokemon-wired brain tells me that if I can't keep using the same animals and making progress with them, it's not worth it. Incidentally why I skipped Sword/Shield 👀
@@UmiamPrime There's no good/bad way to casually play games. Competitively there may be things that work better, but as far as the root meaning of video games is concerned (have fun, distract yourself, etc), any way is a good way
I have been trying but I can't seem to get past 3 wins, I have gotten 4 once but it was mostly luck of them I think messing up by having their own hedgehogs wipe themselves out.
Was I the only one infuriated by how fixated on the swan he was? Maybe I'm just being judgy but like...it's just 2 coins... Wait did he just ask if DROMEDARY is a CAMEL?? Is nobody gonna address that??

I’ve had “widow” as my relationship status on Facebook since I was like 13 because I thought it was funny, especially the people that made such a big deal about declaring their relationship. I’m so thankful I never liked sharing stuff on social media because I just didn’t see the point, also I had like one friend so I had no one to share it with.

Lush carrots....
I have a pretty good strategy with level 2 elephant, then camel and peacock. Trying now for a food stack team

Well that's not a good way to play. Explore other options rather than use the same thing every time that's what's so fun

Two extra coins is pretty good maybe. You're being toxic like twitch chat.
