  • I hope this proves useful; I haven't included all the rules just the rules where I have adapted them for my game play. And there's a few added snippets from the official rules.

Thanks Darren, between the football and cricket I think my cricket surround is my favourite 👍

I'm gonna take credit for the idea to use the bowler to attempt a run out 😉😁 good video Dean.

Saw that. Like it, better than flicking the ball to the wicket cuz u can't get any height to hit above the base of the stumps. I doff my cap to u sir

Thanks Roger and indeed, thank you for the solution, it makes so much more sense than the flicking technique in the official rules 👍

Thanks for dropping by, if you have more house rules please drop them in the comments sections. I’m always keen to know how other Cricket enthusiasts play the game and if I can borrow them myself 😉 so the more the merrier 👍🏻🏏

Wow! Names on the scoresheets bring back memories! Was coached by a young Bob Woolmer at Linden Park CC and in a drill hall in Tunbridge Wells. About 1968-70. Watched Bernard Julian score a century along with Sobers and Kanhai. Game disrupted by bomb scare. Illingworth ct Sobers, b Gibbs. Boycott caught on boundary hooking probably Keith Boyce in last over of the day (most un-Boycott like). Loved John Shepherd and Asif Iqbal.
Note to self: find someone with whom to play Subbuteo football, cricket, and rugby before we die! Grandchildren too far away and too young

Blimey you’ve certainly seen some great players from the past. They were real superstars back in the day. I would have loved to have seen just half of them! Boycott with an attacking stroke, that would have good to see 😁. All I can say is what a smashing back story 👍 And unfortunately I can’t get my 25 year old Son interested in playing, I’ll have to wait on Grandkids! Which is way off in the future I would imagine!

@@SubbuteoFocus It's a great game to play underated in my opinion plus easier to play solo than the Football side.

You’re very welcome, I think showing them in action is a great to show how they perform in a live situation. And in this video they performed well 👍 Having said that they could perform better with a more adept play using them 😉

@@SubbuteoFocus you were illustrating wides and leg byes to be fair so technically it was bad bowling on purpose 👍😀😳🙃 . sold a few as a result actually and the wooden bat with spliced handle make.. worth a freebie 😬

Hi Dean, great set-up. I'm enjoying your videos. Reminds me of my games from 50 years ago! Questions:
    1) How did you cut the wicket bases? With a small model saw?
    2) What cloth is the actual wicket made from? Is it stuck down or just resting on the surface?
    3) How does the run-out rule work with close in fieldsman, as a batsman would not run if the ball landef near the fielder in question?
Carry on the great work with the cricket. How about producing a small Ashes series?
    Pete.

    • @SubbuteoFocus
      @SubbuteoFocus  Рік тому

Glad you’re enjoying the videos Pete.
      1. Yes a small Junior Hacksaw or whatever they call them these days 😊
      2. The wicket is a dyed wicket cut from an old pitch that I place on top of the main pitch.
      3. Run out rule stays the same for close fielders, as in the real game sometimes the batsman steps out of the crease, like Bairstow’s dismissal 🫣.
And I will be doing something with the Ashes. Sneak preview on a new video I’ll be uploading this evening 🏏👍
      Cheers Dean.

Stephen have you checked out the various Subbuteo Facebook groups, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a club near you that you might find. I’d also check out Stewart, Subbuteo Collector. He’s on various social media platforms and has many connections within the Subbuteo community 👍
