    Congrats man! You finally got it! I did the D1000 but it was a major decision due to space as well. Great channel brother.

      @@joshisterrific Its great having it. Still haven't gotten any really big orders. But it speeds things up. I built a rolling stand with storage under it, so its not as much of a space hog as you might think. I too am working in a one car garage.

    Hi, I own the same Vastex D-100 (bought mine directly from Vastex in 2014). It's a good unit and I'm in a one car garage too. Also score, because it runs off household current ! I had a Logos dryer before, a little bigger, but the wiring caught fire (!!!) NOT GOOD ! I think Vastex makes a much better dryer and guaranteed for 15yrs ! You made a good choice ! Oh, and along the lines of presses, I own (and bought new) a Riley Hopkins WIN 8/4 (when Riley Hopkins still owned the biz). It fits great ! I have a studio in my home and do my exposures in there, not in garage. Small washout shed outside with filtering. I see you have a Riley Hopkins table top. Check into the measurements of the floor models and you may be surprised with sizing. I've done upgrading to my press to micros and the upgraded gates. Originally it had joystick registration.

    I was in an apartment and my 8 color press was in a storage. Now im in a 30x40 shop and sleeping in my car. I'm about to turn on my screen printing shop and make my own shirts and use UA-cam to sell my shirts from. Waiting on 2 new gliders then I shoot my first video. I don't know how things are going to go , but I'm a 100% go for it. Now all I have to do is, quit my day job. Thanks for sharing what you share, cus, I'm learning this stuff 100% from you guys.

    I’ve been eyeballing that same conveyer dryer. Right now I’m using the Ryonet rotator pallet + flash dryer combo for my curing. So far it’s working well. But it has its limitations, obviously. I’m in a detached two car garage in Texas. Summers coming up so I’ll probably spend my money on a way to cool down, and then get a budget for a conveyer dryer. Awesome video as always!

      Oh yeah, I hear that. I'm in Florida and I am not looking forward to the summer heat. I need to get some kind of AC unit, or at least a fan in my space.

      I’ve been looking into getting a mini split a/c system. Seems to be the best option for garages without windows.

    Good for you! My Hopkins 250 is showing up next week along with my flash unit. So I'm about to kick off. Still don't have a conveyor dryer, but I'm looking for a used one that works well.
    Also, my mom used to live in Lakeland, FL. I visited her there a few times and checked out a bunch of the lakes. Cool place.

    I went with Ranar DX100. It’s a small belt dyer simpler to what you have. Small and compact.

    Nice set up! This video definitely helped make my mind up for the space in my garage . I am working out of a two car garage but limited to my own working space lol what voltage did you end up choosing for your set up needs? 240v?

    • @joshisterrific
      @joshisterrific  3 роки тому

      I actually just went with the standard 110V, based on what my garage is currently set up for. No complaints so far, but I would love to upgrade to a bigger dryer the minute I move to a bigger space haha.

    Congrats man! i am about to start! i would like to know if u noticed any differences to the results comparing conveyor dryer with heat press and how much time and temp with the heat press?

    • @joshisterrific
      @joshisterrific  3 роки тому +1

      Time and temp is about the same either way, it really depends on the ink you're using and the manufacturer's suggested cure temperature. I'd say the big difference between the two is how the print looks afterwards. The heat press gives it a smoother finish, almost a glossy kind of feel.

    Hi. Really interesting video. Thank you. I've also looked at these two conveyors. In the process of planning a set up in a single car garage. Mine looks a touch smaller than yours. About 6m x 2.4m. Where's your washout booth?

    How do you like using the Vastex D-100? Have any issues with shirts (xlarge - 3xlarge) on the 16 inch belt ? I am seriously thinking about buying the Vastex D-100. Any recommendations/suggestions? Great video. .

    • @joshisterrific

      I like it so far. The belt is a little narrow, 18 inches, but I never have graphics bigger than that. I've put up to 3XL on it with no issues, I just fold the sleeves behind as I lay it down.

      That's a question I'm still trying to find the answer to. Most of my jobs have come from friends or friends of friends. Word of mouth can build from there. Another strategy is using Instagram to showcase what you can do and start interacting with local businesses, engage with their posts, get on their radar and maybe they'll contact you when they need shirts.
