I have a HP which is not the best. I pay 11.99 euro per month on their ink plan of 300 sheets per month which I don't always use. You have convinced me to buy an eco now, thank you, xx
I thought someone would come up with this conclusion Wendy. I didn't want to say it so explicitly but some of those HO costs are pretty high. Thanks very much for sharing this, it's helpful for so many of us. ❤️❤️
My instant ink program is about $5 for 100 pages. The program also has roll overs if not all pages are used for a month. My ink jet is not my primary printer and when I use it, it is to print digitals which are color heavy. I also like that I don't have to do anything to get refills except use the ink up. The ink is shipped to my house. The replacement ink retail is much more expensive than the instant ink program for me. I was amazed at how inexpensive Joie's ink bottles are. Again, I don’t print a huge amount and worried the ink would dry up in the reservoirs. To each her own.
Excellent feedback. Thanks very much for sharing this!!🤓💜👍
Wendy, I have an Epson Ecotank and LOVE it!!! I agree with Joie it's very economical. I looked into the HP program and decided it wasn't a great deal for me. Thank you for the very detailed analysis on printers and printing costs Joie.
You're very welcome!! Thanks very much for your lovely digitals, I absolutely adore those thumbnail collage ones .. take care! 🤓👍💜
I made the mistake of buying one like yours, with the front paper trays, which pull the paper up a curved pathway. That limited the ability to safely print heavyweight cardstock. So I bought an additional printer with a rear paper feed, a straight path, and routinely use it with cardstock, secure in the knowledge I'm not damaging the inside of it.
The cost for a set of *bottles* of ink cost me less than I was paying for a set of ink *cartridges* - yes, less. I have printed thousands of full cover, borderless, pages without running out of ink. I too use more yellow and that's probably because vintage-looking pages require more yellow tones.
I can easily say what I saved on ink cartridges, compared to one set of ink bottles, more than paid for the printer.
Personally, cost isn't something I care much about, however the convenience of never running out ink is awesome.
An Epson Ecotank is definitely the way to go. 👍👍👍
An additional thought... before you throw away your next ink cartridge, shake it. More than likely you'll hear there's ink inside even though you have to replace it. You won't be tossing out ink with the ecotank bottles. Every drop gets used.
I like using every drop 🥰👍
ZA - What is the Brand, etc of the rear paper feed printer that you purchased? I also paint and have always wanted to be able to print my own pieces on watercolor paper. A rear paper feed is exactly what I need. Thank you for poking my brain and reminding me 🙃
I have the exact printer. I buy ink from Costco and its a great deal. I use more yellow as well but just keep buying another bundle from Costco. easy to use. Paper makes a huge difference. I buy matte photo paper. glossy is amazing crisp color but I prefer matte for vintage designs.
Great feedback, thanks very much!
I am using Epson T2800 since June. I saved so much $$$ because the ink tank always plenty of ink and makes beautiful prints My Epson T2800 purchase price was $229 that included ink bundle; a two year supply of ink. My T2800 Epson has a top loading paper bail. Great for quickly changing from 90 gsm to cardstock quality 176gsm. Now I don't worry about running out of ink. Simple to scan and save images to my PC too. I highly recommend the Epson T2800 -- it's the best thing since sliced bread. No kidding. I estimate I print about 200 color copies a month.
Fantastic feedback, thanks very much!
I have the Epson 3760 and love it. I haven't gotten as many pages per ink bottle but I have still saved hundreds of dollars over cartridges for my old printer. I am on my third set of ink bottles for yellow and have printed over 2000 sheets. I print in high quality most of the time and love the color and richness of my pages.
What excellent feedback, by which I mean how helpful!!!! Thanks very much Sheryl, I really appreciate you taking the time to comment!!🤓👍
My only complaint is that it doesn't print on cardstock, but I really don't need it too very often. It does excellent on vellum anod my 40lb paper.
Since I retired I no longer have the use of my work printer. We had Epson printers and loved the quality. I agree, the quality of paper makes a huge difference. My Christmas present to myself will be a new Epson printer. In the meantime I’ve been using my landlord’s Epson printer and haven’t hardly made a dent in their ink usage. So you may guess, I think Epson is the way to go.
That's very interesting Robin, another favourable viewpoint for Epson. I wasn't expecting quite so much positivity around this brand. 👍 Thanks very much for taking a moment to share your experiences. 🥰
Perfect timing! I am hoping to invest in a printer in the new year and I am so glad you broke it down for me. You are so thorough. Thanks you!
You're very welcome
Wow-Excellent analysis Joie! I have an Epson ET-8550 which I purchased for my photography studio but I do occasionally print graphics for my journals. Your analysis shows us how to get value for money! Your journals are stunning! 😍🎨💖
Thanks very much Terena!!!💜
I have had my ecotank printer for 2 years. It has saved me a bundle even when I used the HP instant ink program. I get far more prints per bottle of ink than for the cartridges. The only thing with these printers is to do a print head cleaning if it shows the lines which mine does it if it sets unused for a long time say a couple of weeks.I highly recommend these printers.
I agree about the head cleaning
Hi Joie I recently purchased an EPSON 2820 eco tank - I love it. Previously I was using an Epson business centre (cartridge). The paper feed is from the back and feeds straight in - no more caught pages! The bottles far more economical. I print on high quality all the time but ink usage minimal.
Another fan, there's a clear message appearing from everyone's feedback!!!🥰👍💜
This video started me looking at this printer. Thank you!! I did a bit more research and then purchased one. LOVE IT! Printing is so affordable using this printer. Beautiful printing. Your recommendations were spot-on! I appreciate the time you took to share your knowledge. In the past I would see cheap photo paper at my local thrift shops, but would never think to try printing 'vintage' photos for my journals. No longer! I just purchased a full box of 8 x 10 inch photo paper for $1.50 and am having fun printing photos, which I distress to look vintage.
Very helpful! thanks a bunch!
Thanks very much for popping by to watch Diane!!👍🤓💜
Having been a keen photographer for many years I have an Epson P600 which is an A3+ printer. Superb photo printer with arm and leg costing inks! I can print 12x12 if I need which can be handy but if it ever dies I will definitely be getting something similar to what you are using. The P600 is huge!
That was a terrific insight into printing btw.
Thanks so much for this feedback Min. You clearly know what you're talking about...and that big printer sounds amazing. Problem these days is the cost as you say. Great to meet you, thanks for popping by to watch!!🤓👍💜
I've been toying w/ the idea of getting a printer for printing digitals...this is so helpful!! You, plus 2 other creators I know, use Epson EcoTank printers...it's now on my wishlist!! Thank you, Joie!! ❤🤗
You're very welcome Debbie!!💜🥰👍
Revisiting your great videos 🙌🌼🌻🍁🍀🏵
AWESOME reasoning and analysis!!!! I've been curious about the Ecotank printer's printing quality for artwork so your comments on that were very relevant, too. Thank you!
You're very welcome
Thank you for taking the time to do this analysis video, Joie. That is reveling.
You're very welcome Ramiro, it was about time 🤓👍 welcome to my channel!
Thank you…very helpful!!!
You're very welcome Carol 👍
Thanks for the work you've put into providing this info.
You're very welcome, it needed doing 😁👍💜
A very thorough, understandable and..as always enjoyable video. Many thanks..it is so appreciated 💚
...and I appreciate that feedback, it's super helpful!!❤️👍🤓
I was so happy to this video. It was so informative . Thank you so much for doing this. I am wanting a printer and this makes it a little more clear. I'm technically challenged...lol. Love your work. You always do such beautiful journals. Thank you for making it a little clearer on the cost of a printer and printing.
You're very welcome Karen, I really appreciate your kind words, they mean a lot.
I Have an Epson 4750 almost identical to yours. Love the print quality and I use yellow and cyan most.
Thank you so much for this video! This is such valuable information that I will take into consideration when I'm eventually replacing my current printer.
Fantastic! I'm so pleased that you enjoyed it. 👍🥰
Thank you very much for this long and informative video. I appreciated it a lot that you broke down your actual costs per page.
You're welcome
Joie: great video. A lot to think about. Thank you for this information. Carol from California
Probably one to have in reserve for when you're thinking about replacing a printer ❤️👍
Thank you for this informative video. I am looking for a new printer so I do appreciate all of the time you took to break down the costs. Thank you again.
You're very welcome, great feedback, I really appreciate that!!👍🥰
I have an Epson ET 3750 and love it for printing digitals for journals. Thank you for sharing.
Hehe, great printer Nita!!!👍🤓💜
Thank you, Joie, for such a clear explanation. I truly appreciate this video !!
You're very welcome Patricia, nice to see you again sweetheart ❤️
Hi Joie! Love your videos! I currently have a pretty aged laser jet HP and have been using it for digital prints lately. The ink from HP is so expensive but I recently tried a more economical ink from Staples (Tru Red, remanufactured cartridges) that was compatible and it works well. I agree we use more yellow in our prints because of the “vintage vibe” of digital prints. When I get a new printer, I plan to try out the Epson eco tank. Keep making great videos! Pat, USA (Virginia)
Great feedback, thank you!!
Hi Joie I also have an Epson Eco Tank printer but a more modest one which I think was probably one of the first ones they brought out (2016). It is still going strong and the cost of having tanks to fill up has made the cost of paying a lot for the printer but because the ink can be bought for so much less than expensive cartridges ( and just buying the colour you use the most) makes it very inexpensive over the years. It was sold to me as the most inexpensive way to print photos as at the time I was doing heaps of scrapbooking. It is really the cheapest way to print and it has cost me only two refills of ink over all these years and I have printed hundreds of photos and I can’t even imagine how many reams of different types of paper. I believe the Epson Eco Tank printers are the best ink jet printers on the market and cheapest to run!
Phenomenal comment, so helpful Lynne!! I really appreciate your feedback sharing all of this insight and experience!🤓👍
That's very interesting Wilma, thanks for sharing this!!👍🥰
Your Art journal... it looks very creative and interesting!! Great info!!👌
Thanks very much!💜
Thank you so much for breaking everything down! I need a new printer and have always been curious about the Epson. TFS!!
You're very welcome, welcome to my channel!!🥰👍
Thank you, Joie. I learned a bunch from this video and realize I need to use a different printer than the one I've been using. I also wanted to wish you well in your recovery. It's autumn here in the States which is my favorite time of the year. Please take care of yourself.
Thank you so much 🙏💜
I have a very old (steam driven🙂) Epson WF-2650 that my husband gave me when he replaced it with a laser printer because he couldn't stop it from printing lines in his graphic printouts. I did some experiments and after studying the manual I cured it by running the Print Nozzle Cleaning procedure. I still run this from time to time and it doesn't print the lines anymore. I do spend a lot of money on cartridges though as I like to print on the High Quality setting for the things I'm making, so I'm now thinking that maybe an EcoTank is the way to go, particularly as it has a scanner (I scan my own masterboards all the time). I was not aware of how these EcoTank printers work so I'm very grateful for this examination of printing costs, Thank You!
You're very welcome. I'm sure that the ink costs vary depending on where we live but I hope sharing my own costs was helpful. Thanks very much for joining in with this video Carol!!🥰👍
Thank you for the info.
You're very welcome Laura 🤓👍
Thank you for this. I've been interested in buying a printer and like you said of yourself, I am not tech friendly. I appreciate the explanation about the basics. Have a great day. Really enjoy your channel.
Thanks so much, that's wonderful feedback, so helpful!!🥰👍💜
Thank you for this review of your printer and costs. I am getting ready to buy a new printer and this has been a tremendous help to me.
Fantastic!
I have an HP ENVY 5560 and the color ink cartridge runs out SO FAST!!! and yes, it was a super cheapo printer, but the print quality is good, BUT, the cartridge refills are so expensive to replace like every 20-30 sheets of color printing. 😒Appreciate your video breaking it all down Joie xo
You're very welcome!!🥰
I have always preferred HP printers but have been looking at an Epson lately. I think Epson has done well with it's print quality.Thank you for the video.
On a side note, HP printers will tell you a "print count" of the exact number printed on their test page. Epson may have something like it if you wanted an exact number. (But with both estimates there is not much difference price wise.)
That's very helpful!
Awesome information in this video! Thank you so very much for sharing! God bless! Love hugs and prayers my friend! 🌻😇🧡🤗🙏🌻
thank you for doing this Joie - i have a Canon - 1 black & 1 color combo pack costs me $60 and only lasts a few months - i truly need to consider the Eco Printer - thanks again xx
Thank you for this. It is very timely for me. I am researching a new printer that will print art materials well. It is so helpful to hear your views on this printer.
You're very welcome
THANK YOU!! I’ve been trying to decide which color printer to buy & you’re correct!! It’s stressful. I like my b & w printer but want colored prints many times. Great video & the printed out pages you did are very helpful!!
Thank you
Thank you for sharing the real costs of printing. 😊
You're very welcome, to be fair it was a useful exercise for me to do myself!🥰
This is super helpful, thank you so much, Joie .(and everyone who commented cause some of them were super helpful also) I'm very indecisive and constantly worry that I will make the "wrong" choice, so much so that I often walk away with nothing :'D
Thank you so much for this breakdown of cost, and your opinion based off of personal use/experience. I have been on the hunt for a new printer and I so desire to make the best "informed" decision as I possibly can, however, mostly what I have been finding is not opinions based from personal experience, but rather, marketing videos with very little useful information. Your video has provided me with the most informative information. so again, Thank you! xx
You're welcome 💓
I have yours as well. Love it!
Hooray!!! Awesome isn't it 👍🥰💜
Hi joie:
Thank you for doing such a thorough job in researching the Eco Tanks. I have an old Brother Inkjet which still works fine, but very limited in special features. I only print from my iPad and phone. The ink cartridges last me quite a while. Will definitely check out the Epsons if my printer dies. 💜😎🇺🇸
That sounds like a very good plan Joanne. No point replacing when you don't need to, but as and when the need arises this could work for you. 🤔👍💜
Very help full 😍 Thank you so mutch for take it down to numbers and sharing it🙏 lots of love from arctic Norrway 🙌🌹🌼🏵🌻🌺
Lots of love to you in chilly Norway Lena!!!!!!!💜
Own a HP 4630 all-in-one printer. Best feature is borderless printing and it's wireless. Been on HP instant ink program for a year. Love it.
I have the exact same make and model. I have had it for about 7 years but only used it 5 out of the 7. I also use the HP Instant ink program and would recommend it for light to medium use. So as far as price for the machine as well as the ink I can say it is a good value. But I have not used it heavily, so I would not be able to say whether it's a good value for heavy users.
Sounds good!
Great feedback, thanks!
Thank you for sharing this, Joie. I am in the market for a new printer, and this type seems like it would be a good fit for me.
I think it might be!
Great information
Thanks very much!💜
Thank you so much for this video. I have looking at the Epson printer because of the cost effective ink bottles and because the pictures always look amazing. I too need a tech friendly printer.
So pleased that you found this useful Debra. The bottles of ink really do seem to be more cost effective. 🥰👍
I have Epson L355 eco tank ,had it nearly 10years now .love it .
Wow, that's great!
Thanks for sharing this. I use a EPSON L3150 and am very happy with it! My ink is the 103 and I use the yellow the most.
Aaah, same issue with the yellow as well 🤓👍
This review was super helpful!!!! I've been on the fence about purchasing an eco tank due to high initial cost - but this cost breakout really puts the true cost in black and white 🙂
Hooray! I'm so pleased that it was helpful 👍
I ♥️ my Epson 3850 eco… you are the 2nd UA-camr who recommended the Epson! It’s so easy to use and great quality!!
That's very interesting!!🥰👍
Thank you for discussing printers. I have seriously been thinking of buying a new printer. Something that would be less expensive to print in color with. I am trying to decide between a printer similar to yours or going ahead and spending the money on a laser printer.
Thanks for this very helpful video. I’ve been trying to decide what kind of printer I should buy, and it looks like an eco printer is definitely the way to go.
I really like mine!!🥰👍
What an informative video. Thank you so much. I have a HP printer and use the instant ink program. It works for me and has saved me $ on ink cartridges. But, I know my computer is acting up and this video has inspired me (along with other artists that use epsons) to check out the Epson when I go to replace mine Thanks Joie
I think it's worth looking at...I'm so pleased that this helped Sandi 👍🤓
Thank you!
You're very welcome
I have an Epson ET 2803 I just got it not long ago but so far I like the quality. I’ve printed school stuff for my kids, photos, and printable with it.
It sounds good!
Great tutorial for the new journal makers.🐞💖😂
Thanks very much 🥰
I have a HP Office Jet Pro 8025e. Have always used HP. Since I don't print a lot it works fine for me. My only draw back is the cost of the ink, which I need to order soon. Thanks for the info.
Great video!!! So helpful. I've been trying to decide if Eco-Printer is worth the extra money of the printer. Now, I think it is. Thank you for the information. I hope to be able to afford the printer this year. Thank you.
Austin,TX USA
You're very welcome Barbara!
Perfect timing for me. Only a few months ago I bought a new printer because the cost of ink cartridges was just about the same and the new printer came with some ink. It just seems too soon to need more ink with what I have printed. I started researching the tank printers and now I’m going to go for it because it won’t take long to offset the cost with the savings I’ll get with the individual bottles. You vid was very very helpful! Thanks so much!🦌💌📚🙏
That makes a lot of sense 👍
Awesome information, Joei - thank you so much! I use a Brother printer, but I have to manually set the color levels in the advanced settings or everything prints with an orange tint....it's a pain! I will be looking into a new printer soon!
Oh my, I've never heard of that happening before!🥰👍 Thanks very much for popping by to watch and for sharing your experience!💜
I use ecotank 3730 (or maybe it's 3830) something like that. Had nothing but trouble. Sent back and they replaced it with a refurbished one. It's absolutely marvelous. Love it.
That's very interesting. So maybe it wasn't the model just that particular printer? Thanks very much for letting us know about your experience Friday!!👍🤓
Thank you! I have been thinking of the Echo. There are so many models…. I intend to buy one soon. I am not technical at all and will need to learn how to download save and print. Maybe you’ll have a video on that too? I love your journals! So lovely.
Great suggestion, and good luck with your purchase. You'll be fine when it comes to download, save and print 💜👍
I have both a Canon and HP printer. One has a flatbed scanner which I like. The other has an automatic feed scanner which I don’t. I have the HP instant ink, but the Canon ink is affordable too. I have heard Epson printers are good, especially the ecotanks. 🥰
I think they're pretty good 👍
This was great and helpful as I am looking to purchase a printer closer to Christmas, hoping to find a sale. You did a similar video on sewing machines and includes other crafters and what sewing machines they use. I would be interested to know what printer other crafters use. This was very, very helpful. Thank you.
Thanks very much Daisy, great feedback too!!👍❤️
Thanks so much for info I have Ho and cartridges are too expensive and you have to replace all instead of color.
Thank you so much for this extremely useful video. Do you know the heaviest paper you can use? I sometimes use 160/ 180 gsm on my hp envy multi printer, and if i single feed it takes 200gsm.
Greetings Joie, great video very informative and detailed, I have an Epson CX7800 printer I purchased many years ago and it still works for my needs today, I do use more book pages than printed pages as ink can get expensive it cost $120 Canadian for all four colours of refill ink. Enjoy your weekend!🥰🍂
Gosh, that's very expensive for ink.... You're an Epson user too then!!💜🥰👍
@@joiedefi Yes ink is very pricey for my printer as it is older and uses ink cartridges I use it when needed but prefer to use book pages! Epson is a very good brand in my humble opinion! 🥰🍂Enjoy your day Joie!
O joie, I bought this Epson printer about a month ago and am very happy with this refillablen tanks.
Excellent!! I agree, you made a good choice Susi. Thanks very much for sharing your thoughts and for popping by to watch!!🤓👍💜
Great info I got a Epson ET2800 I be done some printing and it does a great job
Great feedback Cheryl thanks very much. Another Epson fan!🤓👍💜
Thanks for this video. I have never used an eco tank printer 🖨. Thanks for sharing. Happy crafting on a budget 💲. Happy everything on a budget💲. See👁 you in the next 🎥 and on the flipside. 👼🌹
Definitely!!🥰
Thanks so much for this informative video. As a result, I bought an eco-tank printer and I love it. 😄 I have watched the video a couple times and I don’t believe I heard you say what quality you use to print your pages. High, Standard, Standard-vivid? I’d love to know.
This was wonderful to see. I have been wondering what paper printer combo you use. I have a canon g6020. It is an eco tank as well, looks very similar to your epson. I have purchased $50 printers in the past but ended up spending a fortune on ink!!!
This printer I have was around 350 but the ink tanks are huge and the ink itself costs much less than the ink for the cheaper printers.
Thank you for breaking down the costs
Thanks very much for your feedback Kelly, I'm really pleased that you enjoyed the details in this video, and I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and experience too!🥰👍💜
Great information Joie. Thanks so much. I’ve only just started printing digital images. My printer is HP Envy 4522. It’s an ink jet too. It scans copies etc and is cheap to buy but the cartridges are pricey. Prints well though!
Thanks very much for sharing this Jacqui, very useful!💜🥰👍
I have an Epson echo tank2720 and I love it you can print so much more than other printers .I got it on sale at office depot last summer
That sounds great Kathy!!🥰👍
I have an Epson ET4750 and love it... had it now for about two years and never had any trouble with it (touch wood) hahaha... My friend just got a Cannon Eco Tank (not called that) but it is a great machine to... I have saved so much money on ink since purchasing the Eco Tank with it's separate bottles of ink... I use more yellow than anything else... Great info video.. Cheers for Sharing...
That's such useful feedback Sas, thanks so much, and very interesting!! I'm hearing good things about Epson. 🤓👍
Even though this was probably 5 months ago, I am currently looking at the Epson ecotank printers. Your breakdown and explanation is so helpful. I have a canon printer Which really goes through the ink, And I find The colors are not true. Again I say thank you
Such a great informative video Joie! I’m looking for my very first printer and already chose an Epson and I think it is a 7840. You got a good deal with 2 bundles of ink included because we probably use more ink at the beginning after we just buy it getting used to it and it’s functions and maybe use more paper and ink til we know what we’re doing. 💕
That's a very good point about the ink, I agree 😁👍💜
@@joiedefi yes I had that too, so one can subtract the price of the ink from the consumer price. It is worth looking out for such discounts.
I have a HP 8035e. It is also a multifunction printer. (A must in my book.) I'm using the HP instant ink program. So far so good. I have ink when I need it. I was always so miserly with the ink it would dry out before I used it up. (Also have a HP laser printer). I started on instant ink program after asking Tina at ShabbyDabbyDoodah if she liked the program. I've always had HP. I'm satisfied with the printing.
What laser printer do you have, have you tried it for transfers on the gelli plate⁉️
@@renig5059 my laser is black toner only.
Thank you so much for this video. I'm in Australia so costs are way higher here due to exchange rates. I journal and scrapbook and have been mulling over which printer to purchase. At the moment I take my printing to my local printer and they run them off on the laser and my photos I print at various photo labs. It would be great to have an ECO Tank which would be good for both types of printing.
I appreciate that costs do vary, sometimes quite a lot!! Thanks very much for sharing this Denise. It's very helpful. 💜💜👍
Thank you for walking us through the process of figuring out the cost of printing, I purchased my Epson XP-6100. right before the Echo Tank printers came out. I have begun teaching a Junk Journal class at a local arts center. I was wondering what to charge when we start using digital papers. I know I will move to an Echo Tank Epson when my current printer dies. Again thank you for your very timely assistance. Hugs from Texas.
You're very welcome; my costings are still a bit rough and probably vary from person to person depending on what we print, but I suspect your approach is a good one. When replacing, consider the Ecotank. 🤓👍 Thanks Ann!!💜
Epson 2800 eco tank!! Love my printer! The cost of color printing with my HP was so high! When I quit using the quality was low! Recently, I printed on rice paper and my epson did a beautiful job!
The rice paper made it necessary to clean the heads, but that’s ok!
This is my second epson! Had one back in the early 2000s. It was great for photo printing!
Fantastic feedback Francine, and so interesting! Thanks very much for your comment!!🥰👍💜
This is great information! I have an HP Envoy 6055. It is a great quality printer. However… The ink cartridges are so ridiculously expensive. I run out of it after about 10 to 15 pages. I have been looking at potentially getting a different printer. So this video was very timely. It seems to me like I could save so much money, including the cost of a printer, if I went with an Epson. I would love to do more projects, but haven’t really printed much because of the expense. As an example, it would probably take two sets of cartridges to print out one purchased kit (75-80 USD!!). And that doesn’t include the environmental impact. Really, really appreciate all the information. I will read some of the other comments over the next couple of days. This community is amazing at sharing their experiences.
It's definitely an amazing community here, I am so grateful for everyone!!🥰🥰🥰💜👍
Have you looked at the instant ink programme?
Needed a new printer and went with the Epson et-2800. I’m retired and my craft budge has really been cut. I would have loved to get a better model but I absolutely love mine. The savings in ink alone will easily pay for itself. No regrets what so ever with this printer. 😁❤️
That's really interesting, another Epson fan. I'm hearing good things generally, I actually didn't know how popular they are before I posted this video and received all of these comments. Thanks very much for sharing your thoughts and experience. 👍🥰
How timely! A few days ago I bought the new Epson 4850. It looks just like yours, so I suppose it is just the newer model of yours. Before this, I had a Brother laser printer. The cartridges for that are $80 U.S. for EACH color! If I am very busy, I can go through all of those in 6 weeks! And that’s printing probably a bit (not tons) more than you do! Also I read that the laser printer is great for black and white but not as good for color and I can tell you that my first color prints on my new Epson are so much better that there’s really no comparison!! And I am thrilled to learn that the eco tank refills are not anywhere nearly as expensive as the laser cartridges. Thank you for your calculations!! P. S. I think that my new printer cost about $700 which included a set of inks. A lot of money but I was wasting that in ink with the other one. Now I need to learn to work the scanner!! Help! At 72, I am just not technical!💕
It's that ink cost that gets us in the long run 😥😥
I am spending so much on ink for my inkjet printer and was toying with the idea of getting a laser printer but where to start. Thank you so much for doing this video, it has provided me with the information I needed. Definitely going to invest in a laser printer. 😀😀😀
You're very welcome Linda. Welcome to my channel!! And thanks for sharing your own thoughts. 😁👍
Thank you +++
🥰👍💜
Hello Joie, thanks for the printer tips, mine is terrible for printing, costs too much in ink, will definitely buy an Epson next.
Thanks very much, you're welcome!!🥰👍
Thanks Joie. I use an HP envy pro 6400, which I love, I use instant ink and often print borderless. I believe the quality is better than most Epsons, I pay £5 a month, ( for 100 sheets) and can print on thin tracing paper, newsprint and fabric. The printer cost less than £80 two years ago. I know Rachel prefers her HP. I got 7 months free ink printing as many as 300 pages per month. I built up a large supply of Print-outs that I still have.
So helpful!!! And that also sounds like a great solution. Thanks very much for sharing this Lucy!🥰👍
I use a lot of yellow too. Right now I am using a Brother copy scanner printer. I like it but not able to print some papers
I just purchased epson 2850 last week.
I was hoping for more of a printer tutorial tips and tricks etc. These days there's no manual..I haven't had time to look at the Manuel online. I wish for instructions from an expert

It's not easy is it Margie, very much sort yourself out 🤔
Good tip
I use the Epson T2700 with Kodak presentation paper in 80, 100, 120gsm. After years of experimentation l find this to be the best results for me. I get about 6000 prints from 1 tank , and ise more yellow too Great subject
So some similarities, great feedback, thanks very much!!🤓👍
Yes indeed, I love my Epson eco tank. Mine bought in Australia is the ET-4850 and it was cheaper in the long run to buy my Epson than to keep buying the tiny little Cannon ink cartridges where one seemed to be empty every time I went to the printer 😮 and I print lots. There are a couple of issues I have with the Epson, my reds aren't quite as vibrant and nothing I do will entice it to print on vellum but overall I am happy with it. We didn't get rid of the Cannon because my hubby still likes it for his photos and I can still use it for vellum, it just no longer guzzles our money along with the ink......lol ❤❤
A good compromise 👍🤓
I'm in Australia so thank you for the info.
I absolutely love my Epson workforce I've always liked Epson. I print and scan a lot and use compatible inks which work perfectly. Being A3 it's massive so has it's own unit which is handy for all my paper. My black cartridges are double size but can get quadruple ones. I always use matt photo paper now for perfect colour and superior quality prints. It's double sided but definitely has one better than the other. I've tried special colour print paper but when compared it's nowhere near as good which is daft. I more or less use all colours equally but not adverse to printing extra in whatever might be left so I can change them all together. My printer was for my 50th so don't count it as a cost from my craft budget 🙊. Yes it's your print heads, I do mine regularly. You can do a print test so you don't have to do a whole page after each time. I've never worked out the cost of each print but definitely cost effective using compatibles and always have beautiful prints. If you compare your costs to paper pads it's way better and I'm addicted to digital kits. Even more so with the digital collage club (expensive outlay but literally a lifetime of digitals! Check out Barbara's links for a discount). Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖
So many great points! And I love that birthday presents don't count towards the budget 🤓🤓👍💜
very good information, I am looking at buying a eco tank printer very soon, so this video is awesome. Looking at some of the things you have printed it suggests that this printer will print borderless? is that correct? many thanks.
That's a great question, and the answer is yes!!! Thanks very much for your feedback, I really appreciate it!💜🤓👍
Question: since seeing your video, I have been looking at upgrading my printer. The problem I have is that Eason tells me that the printer will not support my 110 pound card-stock! That it will not support any paper thicker than 1.3 mil. Do you use cardstock to print on?
