Thank you for taking us with you on this incredible race! What a scenery! Glad to hear you enjoyed it after the first anger was gone 🙂Greetings from Germany
It's so great to witness your love for running, nature and your wife in your videos, reminding us you can't be at your best all year and you just need to find what motivates you, whether big or small. Nice gutting it out for this race!
Goran your videos are so great! This one may be my favorite yet. I’ve been in a training rut myself lately, but seeing how you push yourself and stay positive is inspiring to me. Your hard work is paying off because it is encouraging people from all over the world. But most importantly you’re setting a great example for your kids :)
Thanks for the honest reflection. Love both the altitude and attitude. Maybe someday I'll cover that course during a trip to Noway. It's been 45 years since I've been to my motherland.
I can not describe how incredibly jealous I am. What a beautiful and breathtaking course. I come from Denmark, where we have no mountains. And I'm not very fond of travelling. But my dream is, one day, to experience a place like that. 😀
G'day Goran, well done mate!! That was very technical aspect there, tough on the legs but you finished in a good time. Amazing scenery, amazing trail race, thanks for sharing. Take care, run safe mate.
I love this video, explaining how you kept working on changing your mental attitude! Beautiful course! Sure was a very quick video of an extremely challenging run!!!
Brother! filming while running a race is already very difficult...I can't imagine having to pace myself at the same time...especially in those magical mountains. Thanks for beautiful video!
Wow... just WOW!! What a jaw droppingly beautiful place. Congratulations on an incredible race! That kind of terrain makes my heart happy, but doing it while carrying a camera and going that pace is mind boggling! Thank you for taking us with you! I'm looking forward to more of your epic adventures!
I pushed so hard like you from Memurubu and at the ridge i hadnt power to climb it, feeling sick, dizzy, want to throw up and i turn back to Memurubu. Now i train and i will be back this summer to finish Besseggen trail.
Wow, very nice. I was doing kinda similar distance/effort race in Montreux this year (Freddies night 15km 700m d+) - also very very nice place to run, but this one seems to be much harder to climb, because of the terrain. It seems that now i have something to add to my race calendar for the next year )
Amazing race! And very inspiring! It was your videos that got me more into trail running, now im gunna have to see if i can find any awesome races like this near me!
Nice video, thanks for shooting! The trail is gorgeous! But I wanna advice you to come to Kazbegi Marathon (Kazbezi skyrace) next year (September), it’s 10/15/30 km and elevation gain 1000-2000m, also veeeery beautiful! And you see Kazbegi in front all the way up. And it would be nice for you to explore a new country I guess.
Congratulations Goran on completing such a challenging route! Climbing and descending that steep ridge looked terrifying 😮 Stunning scenery though, great vlog 👍
sjeezes, here i am actively avoiding a patch of 200 meter cobble stone road when i go running xD U guys in norway running trough the wildest landscape i have ever seen.
Spectacular nature, and I am stuck in heat wave Paris... Nice AC in the gym today though! BTW, we have plenty of these type of races in the French Alps. I am sure you know.
But did you get the first place in the category of "runner carrying a camera set the whole way"? I bet your run was extra hard because of documentation. Really beautiful scenery. You did GREAT!
Walked this in 1976! So nice to see it again, and what a route to run! Great time considering your fitness not up to full level. The videos are amazing. What system do you use to get this? It gives great quality without any sign of the pole, but doesn’t seem to be 360? I still trek and ski in N Norway , recording with a GoPro, but your videos are so much better coverage.
Serious question: Arriving the evening before and sleeping in the car or a tent was not an option? Getting up at 1 or 2 a.m. would break me even before the race. Would destroy any fun and hope for me. Great time, I'd take me probably take 3 hours at least!
Do you use the insta360 x3? Have you found a way or tried to strap it to the back of your running west or back pack? I’d like to film more running, but it doesn’t seem very pleasant to hold the stick like that all the time.
I'll chip in my opinion... base it in the terrain. If it's a reasonably groomed trail - dirt, grass, gravel, and without any extremely steep sections, road shoes are fine. If there is a lot of rock, scree, roots, or very steep sections, trail shoes offer the toe and sole protection, and more aggressive tread. The extra comfort and safety are worth grabbing a pair. Have fun!
Trail running is not about being fast mate, trail running is about the joy or running, the joy of being out there. Run for the soul, not for the ego. 🙏
It's a race... regardless of what terrain it's on, pace is an important part of the day - otherwise, we'd just save the entry fee and do it ourselves, with no competition. I think a balance is nice... nurture the soul in training, nurture the feeling of accomplishment (and our social needs) on race day!
I know he's recording everything so he could check times and what not through the recording but the fact that he didn't click his watch at the start at 2:41 like any other runner made me feel uneasy
Is there a requirement for participants to know the trail from before or to have experience with mountain running? Seems dangerous to let anyone participate -- some people may not be able to handle the adrenaline and balance under such grueling conditions.
We all repeat this to ourselves at the start. Control the pace! Do not go crazy! Unfortunately, this is where our instincts and the need for competition take over. Destroy yourself at the begining and you will slowly dieing for the rest of the run :)
Beautiful course. It’s got to be hard to run that technical route with a camera too! Thanks for bringing us along.
Yeah it for sure makes it a bit more tricky at places but glad to bring you along! 😊
I was thinking that - do you get bonus points for running one-handed?!
Thank you for taking us with you on this incredible race! What a scenery! Glad to hear you enjoyed it after the first anger was gone 🙂Greetings from Germany
Thanks for watching! 😊
Beautiful race also extremely dangerous in my eyes! I hope one day I can run like this
Loved that mindset of getting over your negative thoughts and enjoying your runs and races. It's a really good way of thinking!! Great race, Göran!!
Thanks 😊

Man that production quality of the video is awesome. nice work
Thanks for that makes me very happy to hear!
The 1h15 record on such a technical trail is just insane!
Thanks for sharing this adventure
It really is! Can’t really understand that that’s possible, but people are awesome!
My favourite running UA-camr - thank you for all these videos!
That makes me very happy to hear, thanks for watching! 😊

Ok yeah you should for sure visit the mountains in Norway some time 😃

Excellent story telling as usual. I should go trail running, looks fun
Thanks 😊 you should! 😀

Thanks! 😃
Thanks for the filming efforts👍🏻
What incredible terrain, really enjoyable watch!
Really well done on the sub 2 hours, super motivating
Thanks a ton!
Thank you for sharing these amazing views!
Glad you like them!
Well done, the old race record was done by Reidar Andreassen, back in 1963 and the time was 1:16:48
Thank you for sharing! What a beautiful view!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow. This is a scenic route! And a hard one.
I wanted to be as "out of shape" as you are haha.
You did great, Goran.
Thanks 😊
Thank you for this Göran. 👍
Welcome! 😊
beautiful race! great job! Do you have any tips how to run fast this stony downhills?
Maybe not the race but the ridge makes it to my bucket list!! Thanks for sharing.
Yeah I can recommend it for sure!
Beautiful! Keep pushing yourself
sjeezes, here i am actively avoiding a patch of 200 meter cobble stone road when i go running xD
U guys in norway running trough the wildest landscape i have ever seen.
I did the hike last summer with my wife, it's an Amazing place to race !
Ok cool to hear, yeah it for sure is!
beautiful race and absolutely amazing video!
Thanks 😊
incredible landscape and race!
You did your best 🎉🎉🎉🎉 congrats
Thank you so much 😀
Looked amazing. Well done. Tricky at some parts.
It really was! Thanks 😊
Sick the lakes on the mountains...
I was very fortunate to do this beautiful, beautiful walk some ten years ago. I even ran a bit on the downhill part! But not like you ... :)
Ok cool to hear yeah it is for sure an epic hike!
I might have to add this to my bucket list just so i can rise the number of women in this race 😅 but that looks seriously amazing!!! Well done!
Yeah you should! 😀
Congratulations and thanks for sharing
Thanks 😃
Beautiful vídeo, merci!!❤
Merci for watching 😊
cool video. not sure if you recorded for strava but it would be cool to see the detailed stats at the end next time you do a racing video :)
Thanks for the feedback! 😊
Great job!!!
Awesome video again!
Thanks again!
Loved watching this.
Glad to hear! 😃
Really enjoyed this vid!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😀
Spectacular nature, and I am stuck in heat wave Paris... Nice AC in the gym today though! BTW, we have plenty of these type of races in the French Alps. I am sure you know.
Ah ok good to hear you got a training session in anyway! Yeah would love to go and run one of those races in the French Alps one day!
Love your videos and inspiration!
Thank you so much! 😀
Great video! Well done😊
Thank you! 😀
Great video 👍
Thanks!
@@goranwinblad 🙂👍
That was so amazing and inspiring 😅😅 thanks alot
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
But did you get the first place in the category of "runner carrying a camera set the whole way"? I bet your run was extra hard because of documentation. Really beautiful scenery. You did GREAT!
Haha yeah I guess I won that category 😅 Thanks 😊
Going this route tomorrow with my 8 year old daughter. Aiming for sub 5 hours :)
That’s cool to hear hope you have a great day!
That's more like it!
Thank you for another nice video! How do you film while running?
Great race 🎉
Thanks 😅

That’s cool to hear! Thanks 😊 I used an Insta 360 X3 for the race and the vlogging footage before the race was shot on an IPhone.
Serious question: Arriving the evening before and sleeping in the car or a tent was not an option? Getting up at 1 or 2 a.m. would break me even before the race. Would destroy any fun and hope for me. Great time, I'd take me probably take 3 hours at least!
Yeah it was an option but we have two small kids at home and I want to be away from them as little as possible.
Off Topic, but I simply adore Norwegians' English Accent 😅 What an incredibly beautiful country!
Haha thanks but even though I live in Norway I’m actually Swedish so I think I have more of a Swedish accent but I guess they are pretty similar.
@@goranwinblad let me rephrase to... Scandinavian 😆
Nice one.
Do you use the insta360 x3? Have you found a way or tried to strap it to the back of your running west or back pack? I’d like to film more running, but it doesn’t seem very pleasant to hold the stick like that all the time.
Attitude is everything 👍
True!
I have walked that route, admittedly with a fairly heavy backpack, and that was plenty hard so attempting to run it would have killed me I think 😄
Ok cool to hear sounds challenging walking that route with a heavy backpack for sure!
Beautiful! How do you run those technical parts without rolling an ankle?! I’d love to do it.
I guess it comes from training at running on technical trails.
@@goranwinblad Oerhaps i just need more practice. It gives me nightmares 😂
That elevation gain is huge! Great race.
Haha yeah it was pretty tough 😅
WOW beautiful place
It really is! 😃

What shoes did you wear for this race?
NNormal Kjerag
Yes that’s right!
What camera are you using for this run??
Wow!
What shoes were you wearing?
The Nnormal Kjeerag
It is beautiful 🤩
Trail running is not about being fast mate, trail running is about the joy or running, the joy of being out there. Run for the soul, not for the ego. 🙏
Goran is a professional athlete. So pace also is important to him I reckon!

I think a balance is nice... nurture the soul in training, nurture the feeling of accomplishment (and our social needs) on race day!
You didn't want to go one day earlier? 5 hours driving before race was a huge disadvantage it's sure. Of course even bigger achievement this way!
Spettacolare!!!! ❤
I know he's recording everything so he could check times and what not through the recording but the fact that he didn't click his watch at the start at 2:41 like any other runner made me feel uneasy
Very pretty👌

No no requirements, but think that almost everyone who participate knows the route since it’s very famous in Norway.
so beautiful - next do it in some 5fingers ;)
you are in hurry to the boat but still have time to put up a camera in the ground run back and run to get that shot. :p
😮
How is this tourist trap more beautiful than lets say: Hamperokken Skyrace in Tromsø or others?
nice video nevertheless!
That looks extremely dangerous to be a race.

@goranwinblad which camera are you using?

Yes you are thanks for watching ☺️

Haha yeah that is one of those things that are a lot more easy said than done! Will do my best to pace myself better in my next race 😁
Gorgeous race and great video!
Yeah it really was, thanks! 😊
