I have a friend who is Jewish and lived in Iraq in 1948. Her family had a business, home and bank account. They killed the popular and loved Jewish businessman in public- for nothing, because he was Jewish. My friend and her whole family had to escape from Iraq with only their lives. They couldn’t take their money, sell their home - nothing! I’m sure there are hundreds of thousands of stories like hers that are never told. Probably because many didn’t make it out alive.
