Water is so vital to all aspects of your life, so I am sorry to hear of your problems. Controlling contamination is a huge problem, and when I say contamination, I do not just mean typical nasty things like bugs, it includes your fine particulates like clay. If you have to get into the likes of settlement tanks and filtration systems, it is hugely expensive. I hope that you can avoid that nasty surprise. On cold days and colder nights, the 'fun' of skinny-dipping in the lake will lose any pretence of fun. I feel you are right to grasp the problem, bring in the experts and get it done the correct way, then you can wash up and sleep soundly once more. Sadly, it appears temporary fixes are no longer a possible way forward. Your attitude is the right one. You are resourceful and will overcome the other issues through your hard work, and enthusiasm to overcome the difficulties of life.

You need to consider a water catchment system. With the huge roofs you have you could harvest a ton of water.

      Water collection system,
You don't " harvest water ", you collect water.

@@billgreen1861 yes you can. Just google the term.
      What Is Rainwater Harvesting?
Rainwater harvesting is collecting the run-off from a structure or other impervious surface in order to store it for later use. Traditionally, this involves harvesting the rain from a roof. The rain will collect in gutters that channel the water into downspouts and then into some sort of storage vessel. Rainwater collection systems can be as simple as collecting rain in a rain barrel or as elaborate as harvesting rainwater into large cisterns to supply your entire household demand.

Here in the USA, we are getting warnings that rain water is not good. There are “forever” chemicals in rain water and the roofs have bird stuff on them and not to “Eat” ice off roofs.

@@randalllaue4042 well if they can clean sewer water to be drinkable again I guess we can clean up roof water with the right filters and bleach.

Here in Denmark rainwater is considered very pure and perfectly good to use for household purposes and watering the garden. But you need a special container if you plan on storing it for a longer period of time. Recommend though is purifying it if it is to be used as drinking water 🌧💦☔️

I read people say collect water from the roofing into water storage tanks. However, those roofs are to old and dirty, what is the construction material? It is a good solution to collect the rainwater during the rainy season as a backup system. But do that after you re -build the roof. A floating pump like in the cistern of the toilet would keep the pump out of the clay. Love from Susanne in Queensland. You can start doing pottery with all the clay.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you on this one. We have a very deep well and so far, knock on wood, we have not had any issues. It seems like it's always something. We have the worst luck with appliances. But then again, they don't make things to last anymore. Having an appliance repairman come to our house, cost more than just replacing the appliance. I hope everything works out for you and you get many more years out of your well.

An easy tips is to maintain the sucking end filter at the right distance from the bottom ...
You just have to attach it to a floating device ( A bottle ... ) and have a bit a weight to maintain it in between 2 water layer ...
Like 20 cm under water and only ... the weight helps to maintain it at a proper distance the bottom ...
Don't let it be at the same deep whether or not you have enough water ...
    My 2 cents ...
    On the long run ...
You better have what to filter the water at the very end the well in my opinion .

Sorry you guys are going to have the added extra expense for the well, but very necessary for sure. You both seem to to be pretty smart with money by reusing stuff and being innovative and figuring out cheaper ways to do things to save money which is smart. So, hopefully it won't be too much of a dent in your pockets I pray. I had a feeling when ever you all first got that place that well was going to be an issue. I still don't think having a rainwater collection system to be a bad idea, a back up for a back up. With maybe using that to water the animals, and or build an outside shower house with gravity fed rain water, and a hot water on demand heater for hot showers. Just another option and idea for you all to think about j.i.c

My well had moved too and the rings needed to be put back in place with the digger. The seams had to be closed with cement. You should add a 30 cm layer of washed sand in the bottom for filtering the muddy water. I have the same problem with my well since the pipe is also too close to the bottom and the water level is very low now.

If water well isnt cleaned often enough, water just finds easier way to flow underground. Before increasing depth of well or drilling new one, its good idea to ask for drillers to drill and check the water levels to find area that suits the best. Also i recomend checking on youtube Александр Лобанов channel.

And then maybe build a wind power/ windmill driven or electrical with battery and solar panel driven pump and store the water in the house.
I think,it’s doable on a budget, real nice would be to have a well with pump in the house.

    • @DoBeDiff
      @DoBeDiff  2 роки тому +1

A drilled well is very expensive and the water quality isn't determined by age of a well. Our neighbors well it over 200 years old and has water certification for Food Production use. Ground filtrates the water not the well. The Valve wasn't at the bottom the clay raised half a meter up and pushed the valve up and clogged it full as I explained in the video.

It's clay with Sand down there as well, in this case you can't hide it, it's over a meter of mud anything you try to cover it with will just push through, can't dig it out cause it will cause air gaps under and next to the rings which will cause ground to fall in over time causing black soil entering this layer which is the end of a well, then we can just close it and make a new one. But as we talked with many companies most said they can't fix it or just offered to make a new one which is expensive and would only happen in April as it's fully booked. But we found company that had a high quote for repair but after inspection it was a lot less then expected but it should solve the problems as we will have the well sitting on the hard layer. Sorry for long reply 😀❤
