- We are going to test this! Ever since I wrapped my cars I was told not to take my car through the car wash and that it can ruin my wrap. So we are going to take the freshly wrapped BRZ Through a Touch-less carwash as well as a violent spinning boi carwash to see what happens. I foresee high pressure water getting under the wrap and completely ruining the adhesive backing for it. But let's answer the question. Can you take your vinyl wrapped car through a car wash?

Pretty much what I expected. A full wrap doesn't leave a lot of exposed edges to be lifted up. Plus if you have a membership with one of these automatic washes, they include all kinds of perks like ceramic additives and UV-resistant waxing to the washes, so you get the full suite of protection for your wrap.

I got stripes wrapped onto mine a few days ago and was curious about getting it washed through the auto wash with rollers since my whole entire car isn’t wrapped

Thanks for the info. Just got my car wrapped recently and curious about this too. Many folks say to hand wash the car and avoid using car washes, esp the violent spinning ones. But from your vid here and a few others, it seems to be ok, even the non-touch less ones! So I may give it a try and hope I won’t regret it 😅
I've gone through multiple washes with various wraps and never had issues 🔥 a big portion of it is how well the car is wrapped. I've always done mine at home and I'm an amateur. If a shop did it I would expect it to be fine 🔥
@@Smeedia Thanks! That’s comforting to know. Yeah, a shop did it and it’s a reputable one, so should be all good. Asides from peeling, I’m also worried about some damage to the wrap itself, like a rip or tear, or even some swirl marks showing 😅 The brush car wash that I usually go to said they have had many cars go with no issues, said their brushes are wide and soft, so it’s not violent at all compared to some other ones!

Nice. I just recently got a gloss black roof wrap and satin black stripes on my white mustang. Was worried about hitting the car wash but it looks like it’ll be fine. Just got them done a couple days ago so maybe I’ll wait a week or two and let the wrap dry/settle
I'd let it sit for a week or so but shouldent have any issues 🔥
Do you have pictures ? I was thinking about wrapping mine too with either gloss black and matte black combo like you did or just gloss black. I don't know how the 2 would look. I have a red Stang.
Hey T. I'm just amazed at how well you wrapped the car. I spent week's watching UA-cam tutorial videos before trying. All I did was carbon wrap my subaru wrx A pillows,They look fantastic and I had the technique 💯💯%. But every time the weather temp changes, I get these little circles showing up in the wrap. I hate car washers myself, a i’ll use a spray on and a fun to wash off at worst otherwise I prefer to hand wash my cars 2 bucket system, some Maq Gold and a afro mitt and pretend Dasiy Duke is helping me wash my cars, then I bucket splash her with clean water, oh I mean the cars then I had dry with terry cloth towels windows first clean cloths for paint, then I give her some Maq spray on shine to keep that protectant shine and water runs off like a ducks blanket, people often ask me what I use and how I get em so shiny, it’s so easy with some quality products and takes no time at all, I find it very soothing and peaceful can do it to some beats or just fly under the radar. It’s also a good way to know your car and condition eg new ding or scratch etc. That’s me anyhows, BRZ came up looking good though bro 🤘🔥

on my car i noticed a bunch of little scratches that stand out in the sun. I didn't know, then I assumed I could get rid of them with heat so I searched but then I get this vid instead..soooo beware fellow car folk. but scratches are inevitable I guess but I only had mine wrapped for a week. aahhhhhhh

Nope can wash my car at home at my house, but the point of this was to see what would happen to the wrap. If it would or would not get ruined by the car wash

Have had my hood wrapped in a carbon fiber look for a year and a half. Many car washes with no issues but will never take my baby in the spinning ones, never :)

Yes, more and more scratches will appear, with wrap you can heat it back up and it may remove the scratches. Paint though, not so much
