- Xavier made an upgrade to his 2017 Mazda 6 by installing CX-9 calipers, which feature dual pistons, a significant improvement over the single-piston OEM brakes. In addition to the caliper upgrade, we also enhanced the braking system by installing rotors that are approximately one inch larger. Enjoy the enhanced performance!

I did this upgrade on my 2014 and absolutely love the results. Everything bolted right up and fit with the factory 19" wheels. Brake feeling is much improved and brake power is crazy good. Definitely recommend it.
It’s definitely an awesome upgrade. Don’t forget to get a new spare. The oem spare doesn’t fit over the Caliper.. we found out the hard way lol
@@P1zaro Did you get a spare from a cx9?
Picked up a used 19 inch oem wheel for $100
That is such a beautiful Mazda 6 holy moly bro
Just spent a rack of a set of pads and rotors before seeing this video. Not really upset because I have a 2021 and want to do a lot with it.
Nice Video guys.
Thanks for sharing some good info in this vid. I'll be seeing if I can get a hold of some cx-9 calipers for myself now lol.
Beautiful job..that Red is wicked 😅
Look forward to seeing more of Xavier's build! Does he have the MV tuning rear defuser?
He does !!
* Mods his Mazda *
* Mazda oem parts breaks*
* is surprised *
lol
nice video where in Florida do you live? I have a Mazda 6 too!
😂@ 1.30 on point 😂
Could u use the cx9 dustshields for the front as well? I have a 17 6 and would consider this swap. How are they working now? Improvement?? I have the mv tuning rear diffuser on my 6 as well, recently added some rotiform rse's and continental dws06 tires as well. Sweet mazda!!!
Swapping out the dust shield means you have to pull the wheel bearing and hub off which can be a huge pita. Took me about 2 hours to get my old bearing and hub out when I changed mine. Something to think about.
@@cvp0917 I did the same upgrade. Super Easy and the factory dust shields on the 2017 Mazda 6 fit nicely over the cx-9 rotors and calipers. I ordered my calipers off of amazon for $103. Big thanks and super easy. Just remember if the Brake Bleed screw is not on the top of the caliper its on the wrong side.

I’m his mother now (referring to the Mazda).
Headlights id?
8:23 my moobs need some support.
Sexy bumps
Can I upgrade the fronts rotor to cx-9 rotors without change the brake calipers?
I have a Mazda 6 2020 NA
😅😅😅😅 yeah you’re right! CEIKA!!
I knew you’d correct me. 😂
@@Xavier-vd9ld I had to since you specifically knew I’d say something 😂
Lmfao crazy how he knew. Ahaha
by any chance do you know that car's wheel specs? looking to finally upgrade my wheels from stock. Don't know how wide and how low my offset can go. Please HELLLP lol
I do not but we are making a walk around video soon showing off his car and specifications including the wheel specs
Is there any guide you guys found or how did you know the CX-9 callipers would work and this might be a dumb questions but couldn't you put the old front callipers in the rear and have an upgrade there too?
Rear is electronic so it wouldn’t be compatible
There was a forum showing a few people doing this
I recently did front rotors and pads so I'm a little bit burnt that I'm just now finding out about the compatibility between the 6 and CX-9.. but I need to do front wheel bearings now I'm pretty sure and have to take everything apart so I might be considering doing this.
That said, I am due for rear rotors and rear pads.. any clue if the CX-9 rear calipers also being electronic would work on the 6?
Where did you get the front grill from? Also any recommendations on where to start? I've been wanting to work on my 2017 Mazda 6
In a few days I’m releasing an in depth video of his car with links to all of the modifications.
