Nautical Vibes: Crafting a Hard Chined Entryway Table

- Making tables is fun and pretty easy to do which is why I decided to upgrade out entryway table to one that better fits our lifestyle, and I wanted to try a few new ideas, like making a table with hard lines, not a lot of soft round-overs like you can easily get with a trim router, I also wanted a thicker top to give the table a more sturdy look, and I wanted to experiment with different kinds of wood in the same build to add contrast by using walnut and maple, and of course there were drawers and shelves, but I also wanted the have a back piece along the top to prevent damage to walls which can happen with entry way tables.

I'm so glad this channel hasnt turned into one big commercial for tools like other channels.
Simple, beautiful lines Colin,me likey👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Many thanks!
Nice looking table. I agree 100 percent about the DowelMax, I bought one after seeing you demonstrate it a while ago. The tops come out perfectly smooth even when there is
a slight difference in the thickness of the parts. It was a great tool investment for me. Thanks for all your work and including builds on your channel.
thanks for the feedback Gary .. appreciate it

Thanks ... good to hear from you again
Very nice looking piece. Great job
Thank you
Another great video. Could you do a video on the shelves and draw runners, please Colin.
Thanks RJ
Excellent video. Can you please tell us about the power feeder on your table saw--at about 10 minutes?
Yeah, that looks interesting.
I made a video about this feeder a few weeks ago, you can watch it here - ua-cam.com/video/H2LeImBQitg/v-deo.htmlsi=Uy--BWHERsur-HNA
Excellent !
Thanks :)
Even if the dowels are used primarily for aligning the panels and do not *need* to be glued, would there be any benefit or downside to gluing panel dowels?
To be honest I don't exactly know but probably very little and may not be measurable, I did some testing years ago when I still used biscuits, with gluing some testing, then another panel not glued, then testing that and I could see any difference between them so I suspect dowels would be about the same for gluing panels
Great job Colin. How d it you connect the drawer slides? I have a idea but I'm a newbie. Tho
Just with screws that come with the slides, not difficult but you do need to take time
👍
Thanks
Lovely table. I really like the contrast between the maple and walnut. I may consider making one similar to it.
I love my Dowelmax and it does work very well, however, the Domino is my go to now. So quick and easy. I know it’s costly but it’s worth it to me.
I always say, use what works best for you :)
