- For this years Christmas special we decided it was finally time to answer the age old question of; "In his younger days, who was the more powerful Skywalker?"
On the icy wastes of Hoth, a Rebel force led by Luke faces off against a powerful Clone army led by Anakin.
Will the defensive tech of the 501st be too much for the Rebels to breakdown, or will the wily Rebel force hatch a clever plan to overcome their more powerful adversaries...

Great video as usual, hope you both had a great xmas. Just a small fyi, teamwork on cassian only passes the aim and dodge from K2's calculate odds, not the suppression.

Thank you for the awesome Christmas episode again! I wanted to mention that at the end of round 3, Cassian moved and then shot his sniper at the barc to take it out, but Cassian has cumbersome on the sniper rifle, so he would'nt have been able to take out the barc. The game has been great to watch!

With cumbersome you are now allowed to shoot and then move (you just can't move and shoot). So what you did was ok I think.

@@rkoman1 The terrain I made and we have videos in the terrain play list on how to make them.
The AT-AT is a Revell model kit 53:1 scale. The Wampa is a 3D print sent to us by a viewer. Hope that helps
When Anakin took the 2 dodges from defensive stance - he cannot then take the aim action at all.
And as someone previously stated - the supress from quick thinking does not go to Cassian plus the second Luke attack missed one black die.
Still - two different then usual lists, was nice to see those in play.

@@CraftyTerrain My understanding that, with defensive stance, you cannot SPEND aims. There is nowhere stated that you cannot take the aim action.

Also, on Anakin's cards, is it just the Keywords that are permanent, or is the full text permanent. Like, the requirements that Anakin has to attack / go first on his various cards, does that apply every round or just on the round the card is played?
Anikin's cards are permanent for all rounds once played.

47 min, Luke's second attack should've been 7 black dice. Wouldn't have mattered with that great roll but might have had the dice swung the other way. Merry Christmas mates!
That's a great spot mate, It was because I took one dice out the pool when same used a dodge on the first attack and then forgot to put it back in for the second swing.

I also don't think Commander Luke is garbage, I just don't think people have figured out how to use him in the new meta. I think he's more like a speeder bike that dives against other force users. SoS is an excellent card.
Commander Luke isn't the sort of hero that carries the game anymore. He needs the player to position the rest of their army very smartly.
People just love the "Aim & no Brain" of the republic right now.

The problem with him and why I said he is a bad unit, is the points cost, he's so over priced for the attack pool and defense you get. The lack of a training slot fot Into the Fray just makes him vulnerable in meele to most units. If your playing Rebels you just at Ashoka or Spend the points for Op Luke.
Commander Luke is not bad, its just op Luke is so much better.
I have a list with CoLuke and Ashoka, Cassian K2 wich is very fun and the jedi pair does some great plays between them.
If you quick think on K2, Cassian does not get the suppression. Also K2 does get suppression, he does not lose actions butbhe can panic, not that it mattered at all in this game but can be good to do it just so not forget and to show viewers.

I agree that the lack of trainig on CoLuke is bad.
But he is still the second cheapest force user with a not so shabby profile.
And I am alittle bit on the opposite side of things, if you want a cheap force user, use CoLuke, you want a heavy impact piece, use OpLuke. Ashoka is somewhere between and does not really fulfill either role for me. Having trouble to put her in a list, usually just think, why not take Luke instead?
But I am a noob and rarely get to play so will test as much as possible.

Interesting, I would have only banned Long March and Supply Drop. All the Blue Cards favour hero-centric lists...
Hi Daniel, I didn't want to play Sab Vaps, because of how draw work. If we both complete our vaps and no units die, I would lose as I had the bigger pre game bid.
That was my thinking at the time, but my list was well suited to play vaps, but so was Sam's I feel.

The glorious tan is maintained with a few trips to warm climates, it's important to get some sun and keep them vitamin D levels nice and high, so you can stay healthy in the winter months 😉☀️

I hear Ryloth is nice this time of year, never actually been myself. I prefer the food and night life of Tattowine myself. The palace isalso worth visiting make sure you've got cash, mind tricks wont work 😉.
Unfortunately I don't painting lessons. We do have some great terrain videos and a Cad Bane painting tutorial video you may enjoy.
One tip I always give new painters is buy miniature paints, not art and craft paints, its a common mistake. Also fine your paints and avoid yellow as a base paint, it doesn't cover well 😉👍
