It's hilarious to me that the show just drops that on you. You keep wondering why Mr. Fischoeder has an eyepatch and you expect at some point for there to be some crazy/quirky backstory episode for how he lost it, and then the explanation is just dropped in the middle of a bongo tune and *never referenced again*.
He's a pretty corrupt and selfish person but he's very honest and a complete badass. He doesn't fear anything. He even made up an uplifting song about Felix taking his eye. He doesn't hold a grudge about it and instead uses it to cheer him up. Guys a warrior
I love that episode where at Christmastime when the kids are trying to get on the mall Santa's good graces, the brothers help out by stretching out the ice program performance. Also Mr Fishoder agreeing to help on the condition that Felix gets a solo was really sweet.
since we're on the 13th season, the show could try different perspectives to keep the show fresh?? like imagine if we get flashback episodes of calvin and felix. or even bob and linda before the kids or when the kids were younger! or a teddy perspective episode 👀
I love that they care about "small" things like singing, ice skating, bathroom renovation, birthday hide-and-seek, bob's arm hair... The writers do a great job of creating multidimensional characters, "greedy" is just one part of them and not all that they are (tho it is a p large part of the Fischoeders)
Aww, you missed the moment while they were trapped in the sub but still laughing at Grover for screwing up. That disconnect they have from reality I think is why you can't hate them despite how awful they are.
We all agree that when Felix says he's "not gonna put [the wolf] in a hotel again", that he 1000% meant an actual hotel and not a dog kennel, right? There has never been a second of doubt in my mind, I can't be the only one..
The same Felix who was having a money fight in the street with his brother has surely done it at least once. Guess the wolf just couldn't appreciate the amenities.
I do like how arguably the two most well-known and respected actors to have recurring roles on the show spend a lot of the time acting childish and strange. It also kinda makes sense that they would voice the most affluent people in town
0:36, I love that how be JUST casually mentions to Bob that he was flat while signing, even though he only said one word. Didn't even hesitate nothing. Just wanted that fact to be out.
I’m working on a prequel movie script about the shady origins of Wonder Wharf and Mr Fischoeder’s father. In my script, the burning piers from the movie’s deleted scene weren’t accidents. That’s all I’ll say.
Mr Fishoders not really that evil overall. He's just vain and morally eccentric. I feel like he (depending on the episode of course) will unlike other antagonists just do whatever he enjoys and IF it causes suffering to others it's a detached casual amusement but he rarely ever SEEKS any others suffering outright from the start- save for maybe his brother's. He's not mean spirited the same way Peter Griffin or Bojack or Cartman are, he always tries to keep chipper and he just thinks everyone else is on the same highly privileged and fast moving thought train as he is, and if you stumble, that's your own problem in his eyes, not his.
But also that part in the movie when Grover trips and falls and Felix and Calvin are just giggling at him from inside the submarine they’re going supposed to die in
My dream is to one day be like Calvin Fishoeder, a rich eccentric wierdo that owns a bunch of houses and storefronts to rent out and essentially rules over a small town. The main difference would be that I wouldn't exploit my tenants into doing my bidding... too much. Ideally, I would be a well-intentioned land barren.
@@biggoofy Landlords could be as generous and selfless as any other business owner. Yes, they are businessmen/women as they rent out their property for money. Nobody ever claimed Blockbuster wasn't a business. Even now, I work in a grocery store that rents out carpet cleaners. The greedy and selfish landlord is a stereotype that is often accurate, but there are good and bad people in every profession. Many people fear that all police are trigger happy egotistical pigs, and they're not wrong to think that as there's a lot like that, but I personally know several good men that are police officers.

I think the movie was teasing at some sort of a major character Arc for Calvin somewhere down the line. and I get why shows like to maintain the status quo, and keep all of the characters as static characters, But I would really like to see an "a christmas carol" type Christmas special focussed on Calvin Fischoeder, where he actually becomes a slightly better person by the end and then maintains that change going forward. The belchers would be a standin for the Crachit's and recurring characters could be the ghosts, I'm not sure who would be the stand in for marley, grover would be the only established character that would make a remote amount of sense but he is both not dead, and unlikely to help his cousin, although they could turn it into a joke, where Calvin asks "wait did you die?" is dissapointed to find out he didn't and that grover agreed to the whole marley thing in order to torture his cousin with ghosts or something, they could also make up a new character but that would be less satisfying. but Teddy would be a hilarious ghost of christmas present, Andy and ollie could be the ghost(s) of christmas past, and pretty much anybody could be the ghost of christmas future and it would be funny. I feel like the fans would love such an episode and it would basically write itself.
Both wolfs from this show and helluvaboss are pretty similar.... lulu... loony... luna and they specified she... wonder if someone wanted to continue this wolfs story

Yeah he did, I have an idea for the backstory and motive on why and how Felix stabbed out Calvin’s eye but I’m saving that idea for a very special script that I will eventually write. I’m an aspiring writer. All I will say is that in my backstory, they were teenagers, Felix got really angry, he was convicted, and that’s why Grover only wanted to frame Calvin. But why was he really angry? I’ll never say. Maybe if I work really hard, I can finish that script and get an agent then maybe you can see for yourself on the big screen in 5 years or so.

is no one talking about how felix POKED OUT HIS BROTHERS EYE????
i know 😭 it literally took multiple rewatches of the episode for me to notice that calvin said that 💀
he was just in a silly goofy mood 😊

Mr. Fischoeder is interesting: he is definitely a horrible person, but for some reason I can't hate him.
yes exactly, all the fischoeders are technically horrible people but it’s impossible to hate them, they’re iconic
It's because even tho they are super hatable they are somehow relatable in some weird way
He has incredible charisma
Sometimes you gotta love the villain

these brothers could come from A Series of Unfortunate Events novel
Yeeees! Why does that make so much sense? 🙆🏽♀️
Or The House of Mystery/The Sandman
I would definitely watch a prequel spin-off about the Fischoeder's
