This was stunning! All that sunshine shining on the castle and grounds was so awesome. We have had nothing but socked in grey skies for weeks, so seeing you out enjoying the castle in the sun was delightful! Castles and their history are fantastic. I had just seen that episode of Time Team, and when you pointed out the "fireplace", I laughed out loud. If you've seen the episode, you'll know that was a toilet. I love you guys, keep it up, and do as many castles as you please.
Lovely view from the top, I could not have climbed up there! Thanks, keep the castles coming....take a picture of the information signs in the car parks, then you can zoom in and read them on site. Or if you film them on the video, viewers can pause and read them, seen that on other channels. Whatever you do though is great!
Me personally would watch anything you film and upload. Not a fan of games of whatever but I am a fan of history so castles and other bits is a yes from me. There is a Pirate Queen Castle on Achill Island west coast no ferry needed just a bridge lots of free campsites too along with tombs and Gaints Tomb and Deserted Village.
Film all the castles, they are all unique. No 2 are alike that I have ever seen. You need to sing in the castles Dan.. acoustics sounded amazing in this one. I would be singing loudly were I there. So next time Dan!, Give us a song!
I am sure in the next few days you will be visiting the Giants Causeway as its a must see. But you need to know not to park in the car park as they will charge you £13 per person per vehicle for the car park and the gift shop access. The giants causeway is FREE but they dont advertise it to con the tourists. Park down the road in the laybye or at the smugglers rest pub and walk up, its not far, then walk round the side of the gift shop and through to the giants causeway. Keep up the great videos :)
@@TravelTrollsTV It would have been £26 for the 2 of you, ridiculous. I am a yorkshireman too and have lived here 22 years and love it. Try Benone beach, Carrickarede rope bridge, but my favourite place here would be Ballintoy Harbour (another GOT filming site)
Really enjoyed first sights of Ireland proper. Yes please, would love to see all the castles you can find. Another interesting place to see (if it actually exists!) is that place where they filmed the old grey whistle thief picnic area scene in father ted, looks like an expanse of flat rocks where the hut is if you know the one I mean. Be interesting to learn what it is and how it was formed. Definitely a picturesque part of the world 👍🏻
Picture and Audio quality is really good, well done. Only one small problem is I think something is tapping on the case of the mic as there is an annoying tapping noise on the audio. I had a similar issue, I fixed it by putting a bit of sponge on the mount to dampen it.
@@TravelTrollsTV Its just minor stuff, the audio has massively improved though and the video quality is far more immersive using the big camera. The Rode Mic mount on the new one you have is a total pain in the backside, I have one myself. I ended up cutting up a bit of a dish washing sponge to put between the mount and the plastic and it cut the tapping out completely. Other than that I am loving this series, keep up the good work.

11:28 that’s actually the toilet. Before the big keep was built, there was a big house there and it was attached to the curtain wall where that toilet is located.

If u head out of Dundrum, and stay on the A2 coast road head for Bryansford and that will take you to Tollymore Forest Park which is a brilliant place to visit...head south from there and go to Silent Valley Reservoir (6 mile walk) i have a few videos u may be interested in to give u ideas on where to go.
What a cool place, I think the steps were built that way on purpose...‘twas to make it harder for intruders and enemies to fight you and escape I think...and something to do with “drawing swords” still harrowing to use nowadays but imagine having to run up or down em with someone chasing you...and maybe with full armour and chainmail, it’s a wonder anyone ever survived. I reckon most soldiers etc would’ve succumbed and met their end on the steps more than anything else. I’d watch whatever you feel like filming & uploading so I won’t vote as I’m not too bothered either way...just happy to watch anything 😇

Ye were aware of these noises and having a few camera issues at the moment and will be trying to get them sorted

John De Courcy also built Carrickfergus castle which is better preserved, just hope u can get into the keep as they are redoing the roof.
So many people are telling us to go to Carrickfergus so we will definitely try.
Love the videos make sure when you get to Dublin you take a trip to glendalough it's about 45 mins from Dublin City centre but it's beautiful
We will try to remember that one but it could be months away.

You should see Carrickfergus Castle and St. Patrick's Museum/gravesite in Downpatrick. Up with De Courcy down with De Lacy!!!!

What a cool place, I think the steps were built that way on purpose...‘twas to make it harder for intruders and enemies to fight you and escape I think...and something to do with “drawing swords” still harrowing to use nowadays but imagine having to run up or down em with someone chasing you...and maybe with full armour and chainmail, it’s a wonder anyone ever survived. I reckon most soldiers etc would’ve succumbed and met their end on the steps more than anything else.
I’d watch whatever you feel like filming & uploading so I won’t vote as I’m not too bothered either way...just happy to watch anything 😇
