As owner of 520i , completely satisfied with this engine for normal drive no more power you need.

The G30 520i with lots of equipment is simply not a light car, so the performance trade-off is at the top end over 200 kmh. The engine still does a respectable job, thanks in part to the ZF 8 speed gearbox. If you need something faster, the 530i is still the better bet without sacrificing much in terms of economy.
Aaron Randolph Chen 0,5l diffrence between 540i and 530i. Drove them both and the 530i is a dissapointment on the Autobahn
If you put around 700 in a stage one, 520i puts out 260 hp and 420nm so idk if its worth the difference, 520i and 530i got same engine

The engine noise pumped in makes it sound like a straight 6. It'd be nice to have a smaller inline 6 in the G30 just like in the E39 520i.

It’s has a very nice exterior and interior. Look at the window switches, which are made out of aluminum. Also, this car is really fast for 180 hp. It looks like it has 220 which is still a lot of hp

520i has roughly the same 0-60 mph time as a 1987 325i, 535i and 635csi. Progress (though the 520i is still slow by modern BMW standards and is missing that inline-6 silk).

I know this is only a 520i, but I expected a bit more. I can do this with my 12 year old 320d as well, so it's a bit underwhelming.
Rogier Schoonhoven 520i is just detuned 530i, 530i have same engine. you can remap 520i(184hp) to 530i(252hp) or 290hp

Yeah, my 22yrs old 320i convertible with some tuning (around 170hp) can do almost as good.

We all do like 120 km/h in uk highways and I imagine that would be the same in most of the countries. Why say this car is slow while it can do more then 200 km/h ??? Can you even use the power in a 530 or 540 in the highways ?? This can do the same with a lot less fuel used and I guess its the best one to buy. Everyone else who can’t even afford a BMW please keep your 20 years old cars which are faster than this... like no ones forcing you to buy one...
People who buy 530-540 or M series are using it as a daily and a track car. So they need a car reliable and powerful. Btw in germany, many autobahns allows you to go at full speed. So having powerful engine is good

Hakanthebeast that‘s crap the 180 engine is a 1.6 litre renault engine. Tuning a c200 would make way more sense because it has a 2 litre engine from mercedes
timonxDlol Your wrong the c200 has a crap Renalt engine I own a c180 with a RaceChip ultimate go look it up is got 210 hp with a top speed of 250-260km
@@Hakanthebeast Wrong. In the W205 before facelift the 180 was a 1.6 litre renault engine and the 200 was a 2.0 mercedes engine. Now in the faceliftet C class the 200 engine actually is a 1.5litre mercedes hybrid engine, which is more powerful than that previous 2.0 litre engine, but can´t be tuned that well. However the c200 definitely had a 2.0 mercedes engine until a few months ago. I know that, because I owned the C180 with the renault engine which actually was nice, but wouldve rather had the c200 with the real engine (I couldn´t choose the car. Now I could and got a new e class with 2.0 litre mercedes engine.)
@@timonxDlol The C180 Petrol engine is an1.6 lt Mercedes engine. The C200 D has a modified Reanult DCİ engine. İnstead of discussing and writing wrong informations, take your time and try to search. At least you have the internet to do so.

Ja ne znam gde je ovde fabrika videla 235 km/h, auto ne moze da dosegne 220 po gps, po kilometar satu 228 nategnuto. Opet kazem velika je to brzina al daleko od 235 km/h.
