- Hey y'all I have been on a hunt for a new place. I currently live in Affordable housing and I was looking for another Affordable Housing Complex. I FOUND IT. It is Section 8 Eligible ‼️ Y'all this place is so beautiful. I know people think that Low income housing is usually in the ghetto, it's unclean and so on so forth but it really has changed and I am glad to show yall MY new apartment.

I’m on Section 8 in Birmingham, Alabama and I pay $174 a month for a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom 850 square feet house. Affordable Housing

I must admit, I’m envious. I’ve worked since I was 13 years old, great job, great money, but never lived in a place this nice while I was raising my children; I couldn’t afford it. I also didn’t qualify for any services such as this. I was always in the middle. The apartment is gorgeous and not at all what you would get where I live.

OMG I just finished watching a video and I live in NYC I live in the New York City Housing Authority, which is a subsidize low income housing. My development just went private under what’s called Pact program. I was just issued a housing choice voucher for a two bedroom, and it is like hell trying to find an apartment.. now what I don’t understand is my credit score is good and I work for USPS. I don’t understand why they keep asking me for a guarantor, my credit score and all this other stuff when I have this voucher.. I’m paying out my pocket (without the use of this voucher) $1170 in rent. Maybe I need to get a port out voucher
yes girl NYC is crazzzzyyy. lol but definitely try to port if you're up to it, thank goodness your job is transferable. Minnesota is a great state and has amazing benefits. we are building a lot of new affordable housing too.
let me know if you need help looking in NYC, Minnesota or somewhere else. I'm thinking of going to VA next year.

Yes ma'am it is Section 8 Eligible, meaning if you have a Section 8 voucher you can apply it to live here. But overall this is an affordable housing complex

I live in ireland, so i would not know how much the apartment would cost. Beautiful apartment. Affordable housing.
How much would an apartment like this cost on your side/?
@motolife1387 I'm not sure but I do know that my sister was paying 600 euro a month for a bedroom in Cork City in South Ireland, she did have the use of the kitchen anytime she wanted. I believe in Dublin the price would be around 2,000 euro a month for a smaller sized apartment, but not on the outskirt of the city. If I get a chance I will look up the price, it would be interesting to know. Hope your having a great day.
My cousin was on section 8 until she became a licensed practical nurse. Besides it is just a one year program.
Once she became a licensed practical nurse she receive a letter from the government stated she is no longer eligible for section 8 due to her income.
So she had a choice to stay an paid regular rent. Or to go.
My cousin chose to go so she could move in a way better neighborhood.
So on section 8 programs u have to stay POOR.

This is beautiful. You are very lucky. These places only become trashed after people move in. They key is keeping the thug baby daddy out of there if all they want to do is lay up and cause drama. Hope you will be wise to not let any man ruin your spot.
I do NOT play about my residence. I never have and now that I'm a mother I am way more strict. I dont even like for men to know where I live. I take care of my homes and my cars because I know what it's like to not have either or be using someone else's and being uncomfortable.
Fortunately for me my sons dad is the opposite of a thug. He's a hard working man and he has had his apartment for 8 years now and does not need to live with me. He is also very clean. A man will not be living with me prematurely.
Also, I've found that the uncleanliness of these buildings stem from lack of management, women and parents not implementing home training into their children and guests. We don't do wayward living in my home.

yesss, section 8 eligible but the whole complex is low income/affordable housing so you don't have to have a Section 8/Housing Choice Voucher to live here but if you do then of course it discounts the rent.

Do y'all tell people who move into their non affordable housing or homes to keep it clean? the negative stereotypes have to stop. Low income does not mean dumb. Why wouldn't I keep my place clean? and no they will not throw you out if you don't keep it clean. Some of affordable housing places management don't even keep the common areas and outside of the building clean. furthermore it is once again incorrect that no one else can live here but me and my child. Should I decide, I can add anyone to my lease. It's time we wish ppl well, congratulate them and let them make their choices.
