They broke up for almost 2 years, then reunited in 1970. Said the broke up as boys, and got back together as men. The night they reunited they wrote 2 timeless classic hits: HOW CAN YOU MEND A BROKEN HEART and LONELY DAYS LINELY NIGHTS. Both would make great reactions.
Maurice on the bass guitar, laying down one of the funkiest beats ever put to music. This was one of the first Bee Gees songs I heard as a young child. I think I was about 8 yrs old when this song was released. It was a highly requested song for our local radio stations.
Love the Bee Gees. The basis for the song was the sound of the tires going over the bridge to the studio every day. I think the magic number was 35mph.
@@LillyMarz777 I'm from Miami and the bridges here are Concrete slabs of a certain uniform size so if you drive over them at a certain speed you will here that repetitive "thunk" sound! Just watch any driving video in Miami on the expressway and you will hear it. 😁
The lead singer Barry is the oldest brother and the only one who is still alive. They had a younger brother Andy (heartthrob) who was also a solo singer but did sing a few songs with them. He was young, only 30 when he passed away.
Well, they did break up for a time; though, well, they were brothers (how much can you break up when you have the same parents). While you are going down the rabbit hole, check out their brother Andy Gibb and the many hits written for and performed with other fabulous singers. My favorite is The Bee Gees and Celine Dion, Immortality.”
Grew up with this band. They had hits in the 60’s 70’s 80’s and 90’s they wrote over 3,000 songs they’re in the Rock and Roll hall of fame and Songwriters hall of fame. Their first big hit To Love Somebody was Awesome. You have to listen to Staying Alive. Tragedy and Fanny Be Tender With My Heart. Love your Channel ❤️❤️
Love your Bee Gees reactions. With over 1000+ written for themselves and other top artists that rabbit hole is very deep. Here are 5 decades of the most fantastic music. Please react to FANNY (BE TENDER WITH MY LOVE) a masterpiece of a song, thanks.
The radio stations started playing it without mention who was singing. It climbed to No1 and lots were shocked that the group was the Bee Gees and not a black group.
The term jive or the phrase Jive talkin did come out of the 70s initially meant shooting the breeze. It wasn't until later the phase referenced someone was constantly lying
Perfect for your next reaction would be Fanny be tender with my love...recorded the same day as Jive Talking...from the amazing 75 Main Course album. Every song is great...a rarity! 70s will keep you busy for a long time. Then there's the 60s, 80s, 90s and the start of 00s until 2003 and Maurice's sad passing. They wrote over 1000 songs for themselves and others.
I loved this stuff. Although I mainly listened to rock & metal I loved all music and honestly my earliest influences were R& B artists. Much like my Dad & my uncles I loved Ray Charles & those musicians. From childhood (under 10) my favorite was Louis Armstrong. Yes, as a small white girl the music that touched me most was old black men’s tunes! I don’t care if that’s ok it’s what I love!
Barry the oldest (boy) then Maurice & Robin (fraternal twins). They have an older sister, Lesley (she is the first born). Then there was baby brother, Andy, who was a solo artist & my favorite. Andy would join his big brothers on occasion. Please check out some of Andy's music - Shadow Dancing, I just want to be your everything, Thicker than Water, & Don't throw it all away are some of his chart topping hits. He was the youngest, but the first brother to pass away. Many will report that he died from an overdose, but that is not true (wide spread misinformation). He had a heart condition & coupled with years of substance use, he died from Myocarditis, just a few days past his 30th b-day back in 1988. Maurice & Robin have passed away too (2003 & 2012). Barry is the last Bee Gee; still making music & just released an album a few years ago.
Check out their first hit, New York Mining Disaster 1941. They looked very different in the 60's, but still had that amazing sound. Love your reaction videos!
Hi Shawn and Mel, I really love this song and have a lot of happy memories ice skating to this song when I was a teenager. Just thinking about ice skates today makes my back hurt! :). They have such a great energy. I always feel invigorated after I hear one of their songs, even the sad songs because they touch such a real place in the heart. These guys were so unique. I really love entertainers like that. Have a great day!
Adding to @lilly5157 talking about the bridge. Barry’s wife made the comment while going under the bridge that it was drive talking. Barry then decided to change it to jive! At least that is what I have read and heard!!
Mel, you have such a beautiful singing voice - have you ever auditioned for either "The Voice" or "AGT?" Believe you could go far on either one of them!!!
I have no shame admitting my friends and I hated tf out of Andy Gibb for the simple fact that in order to get chicks back then we had to endure seeing him on the cover of every teen magazine cover for 2-3 yrs of our formative teens and every chick we knew had every issue and albums, including the ones that were in the hard rock crowd we hung out with. Of course, we all wished deep inside we had 1/1,000,000th of what he had going on and never, ever, admitting it to each other.
The 70's was stacked with great music and groups
BG's="Brothers Gibb"

I heard that. Was it Brooklyn bridge?
@@scouseofhorror104 No, a bridge in Miami.

"jive" and "fool" were two words you would hear a lot in the 70's lol

They have SOOO many songs/hits! Love them!💞
BEE GEES FOREVER!!
so much talent in one family.
It's hard to sit still with this great music. 🎶🎶🎶👍

- Over 1,000 songs.
The Bee Gees were the epitome of 70's dance music
This song has some funk going on. It's still a bop.
Love your Bee Gees reactions. With over 1000+ written for themselves and other top artists that rabbit hole is very deep. Here are 5 decades of the most fantastic music. Please react to FANNY (BE TENDER WITH MY LOVE) a masterpiece of a song, thanks.
Rest your love on me is a great one too !!!!
Thank you very much I really appreciate this one guys .
Music can be a great uniter. Your joy is infectious.
Always feel that last break could go on loads longer. It's so infectious!
One of my favorites, because lyrically it was just so different from the rest…. And of course part of the soundtrack of Saturday night live.
Definitely the funkiest part of the whole track. Hope I can find an extended version of this.
We need a Fanny be tender with my love reaction by bee gees
The radio stations started playing it without mention who was singing. It climbed to No1 and lots were shocked that the group was the Bee Gees and not a black group.
They did breakup once briefly early on. Their reunion resulted in the song "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart. "
The term jive or the phrase Jive talkin did come out of the 70s initially meant shooting the breeze. It wasn't until later the phase referenced someone was constantly lying
It's interesting how Barry the eldest brother is the only 1 still alive.
UAU! Estou assistindo mais uma vez a banda do meu coração!❤❤❤🇧🇷👍Amoooooooo!! Os Bee Gees!!❤❤❤👋👋👋👋
bee gees reaching out
one of me favorite songs of all time.
I loved it every time this song played over my pocked FM radio!!! Hi tech back in the early 70's !
They owned the 70s
The bees was a fanastic group had alot of great songs
Amazing song from a brilliant band with a killer bass!
❤BeeGees
I liked them back in the day…but appreciate them more today now that I’m 70y/o….lol!

It's the Moog bass that makes this song killer.
This is one of the earliest songs when I was first introduced these fantastic guys . It was just the beginning of great things.
Jive Talkin...gets in the way... That bass line tho the stuff of my childhood. 😆
Mo was a master on the bass! Just listen to that bass line. Fantastic!
Two suggestions for your next Bee Gees reaction: ❤ "Love So Right" or "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart"! 💔 And you are just getting started!

Fanny Be Tender With My Love is my favorite Bee Gees song.
This takes me back to my college days....party song!!!!

...and if you were doing too much jive talkin, you were a jive turkey! Great song, so glad you reviewed it! Thanks, guys!
The 3 guys on your shirt felt it too.
Read someqhere they got the beat from deiving over a bridge and a hit was born. Talent!!
"Womb Harmony"
❤️
Thanks 🙏 RESPECT 💯🌹
Oh yeah💓💓💓
Hi my two locos! Can you react to Chicago-Make me smile the long studio version. Es muy caliente 💥
Great song! ❤ In any version!
This song always reminds me of the movie, Jaws. They were both popular at that time.

Mo laying down that sick bass groove 👍
Hi Shawn and Mel! Great choice, love this song!
The Bee Gees I started a joke is a great song too

Yep...I've still got my 45...lol....even the yellow thingy...LOL
Mel, you have such a beautiful singing voice - have you ever auditioned for either "The Voice" or "AGT?" Believe you could go far on either one of them!!!
I bought the Sunburst Rickenbacker 4001 in my photo just because Mo played one in this video! 😀
Love the reactions!!!
Rufus also did a kick-ass cover version in 1975...
Love you guys, love the energy !
Lovin this rabbit hole guys! If you get a chance please check out "Love you inside out" by the Bee Gees. Funky little tune. Love y'all!
This song had funk in it
that chugging sound was inspired by the sound of the cars going over the MacArthur causeway in Miami Beach, Florida.
Jive talkin all I remember is a jive turkey
Check out This Is Where I Came In from their last album from 2001. A very great song
U guys gotta play The Walk by Mayer Hawthorne.
Yeah, people would be like: yo, stop jiving me
We always called it
bulls*!+
But jive Talkin works too. Lol
Listen to Ernie K-Doe song called Mother In Law and song called Johnny Get Mad ..these are one hit wonders
Shawn and Mel listen to The Bee Gees “To Love Somebody”-it’s great!
jive talkin = double talk
scammer talk, quick speak. We all know these types lol
Hence the saying “don’t give me that jive” when someone is telling you a cock and bull story that you KNOW is a lie.
Hey brother n sis
Sat Night Fever was a below average movie, but Travolta dancing and the Bee Gees made it happen.
I ain't jivin when I say you two give great reactions!!! I'm also not jive talkin when I say the Bee Gees are baaaad!!!
Please do "One Tin Soldier" by The Original Caste.
Barry Gibb died yesterday...😢
Hello 👋😄
Please do “Night Fever” next- video with the clips from Saturday Night Fever movie- It’s the best video with the song-please-😊💜
Jive talking was not lying, it was more irrelevant noise the most manly nonsense!
