  • This video of the Swift 2100 2.1m Sports Glider with RVF Pilot Art B, is the culmination of a winter spent trying to learn the ins and outs of FPV on Fixed Wing aircraft. This Swift Sport-Glider is equipped with a 64mm EDF which replaces the conventional folding-prop up front and creating a great view with the optional FPV Platform-Canopy, gimble, and Walksnail Avatar HD Pro camera/VTX. Next phase of the project will bring in On-screen telemetry and enable the Tally-Ho Head Tracker on Avatar Goggles X. This video was shot w/o tracking, fixed forward aimed, as a learning exercise in getting all this working and off the ground! At the 3 minute mark, pilot Dave C and his cub will appear ahead and below, and we sort of followed him around the rest of the flight. And of course, no glider landing is complete without gusts of crosswind blowing you off the runway! Visit RogueValleyFlyers.com for info about the Grants Pass Sky Park!

Can't wait until we get the stripe painting done... it will help quite a bit with depth and speed perception when landing while using FPV.

I'm been thinking about picking one of these up. Trying to decide between this and the AtomRC Swordfish. I don't need any of that GPS autopilot stuff, but I do have an extra O3 Air Unit to make use of. Both planes look really nice. Cheers for the video.

This was my first attempt at building out and flying fixed wing with FPV. I was just videoing on this one, but have since flown her completely via the goggles, and its incredible! I didn't do the Flight Controller thing, although I have that on my future project list. I absolutely love this Swift 2100 with EDF. Before FPV its a great glider, but WITH FPV, the EDF propulsion allows you to take off like a normal plane, which is much easier with FPV than attempting a hand launch. Without an FC, I chose to use a Spektrum AR8360T receiver, which gives me Vario, Barometer, and 8+ channels. Put the Vario on a switch as always, and set the transmitter to give verbal altitude updates every so many seconds. That helps compensate for not having the OSD telemetry that a FC provides. Used a TallyHo head tracker on Avatar Goggles X. The gimble that sells as an add-on option with this glider is functional, but the pans are pretty rough due to cheap servos. Plan to switch over to a MotionSic to make sight seeing more pleasant from up there!

Has anyone else been silly like me added the edf run that on a little 5s 1500 and seperate esc but also keep prop run that on a 4s 2250 what a weapon 75mph plus 😂 9s powered swift is lots of fun and has no end of going vertical
