nice that you like Kuopio, been living there past 30 years. Kuopio is nice and quiet, nice hills and lakeside, also has proper (-30C) winters, so every seasons included here!
“Good Day”: Finnish : “ Hyvää päivää” . Savo: ” Hyvvee päevee” . Yes, Savo can be pretty hard to understand even for Finns who come other parts of the country.
Savo accent is mainly about how they change the long vowels, or add some extra like you said. Then they double some consonants that are shot in standard Finnish, and the intonation is distinctive too. Like after the stressed syllable the next syllable is long, if the stressed syllable is short. Like kalakukko sounds nearly like kalaakukko for a western Finn, but it's not quite that. Then the paritove kalaa they say kallaa, or kalllaa - maybe if you try to claim it's kalaa. But they don't have much special vocabulary (but some of course) - they're more famous in inventing words on the spot that have been said before, maybe. Just to describe how they feel about something, or if they don't what's it called, but let their impression form a word in their mind. They especially invent verbs for going or walking, but the verb includes HOW the person walks. More important the whole attitude towards talking is particular. It's hard to get a straight answer from someone from Savo, goes the saying. If you're asking a yes/no question you'll get a philosophical answer mainly aimed to slow done and prolong the conversation, and it seems like epecially when you seem to be in a hurry. Like: is it two o'clock now? - (See) It could be, then again, it may not be. (don't) know that ('him'). They don't like to haste when speaking, and they are amused if someone is in a hurry to talk, to go - in hurry in general. It's also no wonder that proportionately a huge part of Finnish comedians come from Savo. Here's one video example of a comedy of 3 brothers Puukko (Knife) with their new neighbours from Savo, also 3 brothers. Their leader is the guy with a red beanie: there you hear Savo a lot. Both are born back in the country deep in the heartlands of their province, far from cities. Now the Savo brothers have just moved to Häme, next to the Puukko brothers. And each family of brothers has one village idiot, getting all the brothers in trouble from time to time. ua-cam.com/video/RaGKmNH8Rqw/v-deo.html
I will add indonesian subtitles to all videos from now on ☺️, I’m thinking of doing a Q&A video next, any questions you would like me to answer? About Finland or those places visited or me, any questions are welcome 👍🏻
Wow bro nice video been to Finland many many times over the years special in Joensuu, and i never went to see kuopio which if i remember only 130 kilometers away from joensuu shame on the mess
