    Awesome review Daniel. You beat me too it lol! I have the Same one that I'm going be doing a video on soon. Looks like a very neat design. I can't wait to try it. Loved how interested your Betta was tho 😊. I've always used boiling water when it comes to old suction cups. Thanks for sharing 😌

    Thanks for the shout out. Great review. The one way to get flow would be their power head as it fits right on those.

      For sure mate. They don't sell that version here though as they're not quite as commonly used. I'll leave folk to find that out from your video.

      Thanks very much Alison. Yeah I like them. If you're in the market for a box filter or similar it's a nice new option hey.

    Looks great.. Saw it on Rob's too.
    Unfortunately not available on our Amazon. Too expensive to order it in from the states and pay all the duty and taxes. .
    I really like this system
    Great review. Very well done my friend.
    I like how you compared it to the box filter.....
    A much better system you just got my friend
    Dang suction cups ... Stuck good 🤣😂
    Btw love that beta

    Found out the top (where the bubbles come out) comes off!!! You could probably add your own exit tube.

    • @DanielKeepingFish
      @DanielKeepingFish  9 місяців тому

      Yeah definitely. You can add the elbow exit piece from the top of the wee air driven box filters that are available. Just would be nice if this filter came with the option as standard I reckon.
      Thanks for sharing the idea and thought with everyone.

    Dear Daniel:
    £15.99 = $19.25
    This is a fine product, but I prefer a hang-on-the-back filter. An internal filter takes up real estate and will look unsightly, once it’s covered in algae and catches detritus. But, for a hospital, quarantine, or plant-culturing tank, this item could be ideal.
    The betta is stunning! What are those, small, quick fish in the tank?
    Thank you for sharing your, terrific unboxing and demonstration video.
    All my best,
    Sincerely,
    E. J. Brinegar

    Nice video! Ive been running this filter for 2 months now with exellent results! One thing i did change was i replaced their included bio balls with seachem matrix. Im sure it was totally unnecessary, just my personal preference for bio medio.

    • @DanielKeepingFish
      @DanielKeepingFish  11 місяців тому

      Well Matrix is very good so no harm doing that at all. Glad to hear you're enjoying these neat little filters too.

    Looks like an interesting little filter there! I think I might slightly prefer hygger's dual sponge filters just because there aren't slots for very tiny fry to get sucked into, but great review! I'm going to have to try that boiling water trick for tired suction cups, thanks so much for that tip! 🙂👍

    • @DanielKeepingFish
      @DanielKeepingFish  Рік тому +2

      See I'm not a big sponge filter fan which is why I prefer the box filters so these are a nice option for me. I don't think fry will get sucked in as the sponge is right up against the plastic. Nowhere for them to go anywhere more than with a sponge filter. Not trying to sway you just explaining my thinking haha..
      Yeah done that with loads of suction cups over the years. Minute or two in a cup of boiling water, quick rub to make sure there's no algae on the suction side and they're ready to go again. 👍

    • @TarasTankFriends
      @TarasTankFriends Рік тому +2

      @@DanielKeepingFish thanks for explaining how to do that with suction cups! 🙂 I have unfortunately had newly hatched nano fry get stuck between the sponge and the plastic on the egg tumbler I made even though the sponge fits tight against it. Too tight, that didn't go well, not something i want to risk again. . 😔 I have some cheap, small, internal corner filters I like where I put nylon stocking material over the vents, not sure if that would impede the flow of this one too much?

    • @DanielKeepingFish
      @DanielKeepingFish  Рік тому +2

      @@TarasTankFriends I wouldn't say so. As long as it doesn't get stray leaves and plant debris stuck to it I'd say it would be fine. Only one way to find out for sure...

    The big issue will be the minimal lift you will get as the air can´t draw any water if you don´t have a form of lifttube...

    • @DanielKeepingFish
      @DanielKeepingFish  11 місяців тому

      I've been using these on two 40cm cubes and they've been great so far. That said they are not tanks where I'm looking for high flow rates or turnover.

    • @DanielKeepingFish
      @DanielKeepingFish  Рік тому +1

      Yeah it's a real nice option for smaller tanks. That's a 60cm cube so about 200 litres and will be fine for that lightly stocked I reckon but wouldn't go much higher.

    Hygger filter is poorly thought out.
    To clean sponge you need to empty all the balls, as they are loose its a pain.
    A basic sponge filter is better and easier.

    • @DanielKeepingFish
      @DanielKeepingFish  Рік тому

      See I like that though. Gonna rinse the media anyway right? Toss them in a tub of tank water, sneeze to sponge out, put it back, pour the media back in.
      Never been the biggest fan of sponge filters. Only gotta look at them half the waste they collect leak back into the tank which is why I prefer box filters.
      One of the good things about out hobby but; loads of different options and we each got different ones we prefer hey.
