- Kind of a different video today again, something I planned to do for a long time. I rated every F1 race track ever included in Codemasters F1 Games and ranked them in tiers. S stands for the best tracks, E for the worst. I didn't include the short versions of tracks that we had until 2020 since they weren't really different to the original tracks as they were the same just a little shortened.
Planning to do this for other racing games as well, so stay tuned. And as always: New Lost Gear Videos are under way! ;)
Big thanks also to VirtualSportsTV for letting me use their footage of the Istanbul Park Circuit as I couldn't get my old F1 2011 game to work!

I like Jeddah, the racing there is cool in my opinion, but you do have a really good point. It is an insanely dangerous circuit.

In the modern game (2021) One of my Favourite tracks to drive is jeddah (for hotlaps)
Its just so fun being on the limit and being able to test the track limits there
And one of my favorite for racing is imola
But in old gamed my favourited are sepang and hockenheim

I actually Shanghai, I like cars with a strong front end and that track is fun if you prefer that kind of setup, I also like Paul Ricard, the only track I manage to have good tyre wear lol, and weirdly enough Portimao felt like a B tier to me

I'm not a fan of motorcycle racing but I watched the British superbikes at brands hatch on tv once and I remember the racing being very good. So I think the full circuit is great for bikes, and car racing other than f1 (apart from the ridiculous indy circuit with its 40 something second laps for champ cars). But I agree with your opinion on it for f1.

Seriously though, how can one intentionally design a track like Jeddah? It's closer to a Mario Kart track than an actual Grade 1 circuit.
how does that circuit still exist? By 2024 it’ll be Jeddah nuke site f1 holocaust death trap STC saudi arabian grand prix with less human rights than bathrooms in an interstate coach.

Did you know Nurburgring is next to the Nordenshfeilie? Aslo known as Green Hell. The difference between 2 tracks are huge!
Yeah, the Nordschleife actually is part of the Nürburgring, there's a connection between it and the GP-track (which replaced the former Südschleife). This full layout of the Nürburgring is also still used nowadays for the 24h of the Nürburgring for example. So glad they didn't get rid of the Nordschleife when they built the new GP-Track :)

Jeddah shouldn't exist as well. It's just a time bomb as in tragedy waiting to happen because of a BIG lack of safety measures

As I've said: Jeddah is a very fun track to race at in the game but it's unsuitable for F1. It's just waiting for something terrible to happen with cars regularly being thrown back onto the racing line after crashing. And with so many blind corners, that's a very unhealthy combination. Really mad that this one got the FIA Grade One Rating 😅
update: ferrari have threw the title away like you said in hockenheim
If I’m being honest imola was never the same after 1994, as tragic as that day was and how it was clear that the track was dangerous it was never the same after those changes
out of interest, where would you rank the new versions of Australia, Abu Dhabi and Spain as well as Miami from F1 22?
- Australia still A, though I personally miss the chicane that was removed. Apart from that not too many notable changes.
- Abu Dhabi B maybe even A, really a huge improvement. Awkward chicane ahead of the hairpin removed. Long left-hander after 2nd DRS zone is fun, though harder to go side by side than before. Really surprised at the last sector that even with only slight changes has now a proper flow. Really impressive.
- Spain still C, a tiny bit better. Huge issue still is the chicane. They need to change that for a better rating imo.
- Miami C maybe even D, I just don't really enjoy it, can't really put it down on why that's the case. That bit ahead of the long straight is horrific and kills any flow.
They removed the chicane in Barcelona, so the track is now better
That was about time. Never understood why it had to be there in the first place 😅
What’s with Qatar? Was a fun race to watch with Alonso getting a podium, tyre issues at the end was overall a good race that was brought in with short notice
Unfortunately, Qatar was never in the F1 games as it came only in with short notice.

@@bourbonisto1721 I'd like to see a bit more of the track than just one race before I make my mind up on that (and maybe also drive a little more on it) but honestly it feels a little uninspired and like a worse version of Bahrain for me so far😅

Baku is an S for me, there’s no track on the games where I perform better or have more fun. If you really get the hang of those 90 degree corners you can fly through them and pulling off a perfect Castle makes you feel like God.
Edit: Honestly, same for Gilles Vilenueve. Hunting down a leader over 5 laps, desperately trying to catch them on the final straight, it’s so much fun.
For me Monza can't be an S, since in the race its just a drs train, and the car behind will always overtake the one in front, lap after lap, unless you manage to build the 1sec gap

I own F1 2016, 2020, 2021 & 2022 on my Xbox series X. Watching this entire video I was like “ok, I just need to pick up 2013 to get a bunch of missing tracks”. Then I find out it’s an Xbox 360 title and not backwards compatible. Pfff, this is another Forza Motorsport 4 scenario It seems. 😢

Portimao deserves a 5/10 the 1st sector is kinda good if you don't play ranked and turns 8,10,11 and 14 are horrible to drive against the ai sinds they can go full gas through those corners while I need to hold back cause else the car will spin through turn 8. Turn 10 and 11 also have the same problem with the ai same as 14 the only times I found this track to be fun was when I drove in the rain.
I gotta say, Hanoi didn't earn an E to me. It'd probably even be a B, since I can sense some very good flow in it, and those roundabouts (I just HAVE to quote Southpawracer: "The bloody magic roundabout in Swindon, UK is easier to traverse than this!") are actually a nice change in pace for me, because there's nothing quite like it...
I even get that. They're very unique. But I guess it's either you like them or you hate them.
Yeah. That can be said about a lot of tracks, honestly.
By the way, from my experience (DISCLAIMER: not with an F1 game) at least the Buddh int'l circuit and the one in Yeongam, Korea, are somewhere in between A and S
And I can absolutely not understand what this many people think is a banger of a track at the Valencia Street Circuit. They had a circuit already, the Circuito internacional Ricardo Tomo in the hills just outside the city. Why not go there? But nnnnope, they just HAD to make it yet another one of those street circuits. They're not good because they're a new trend, okay?!

Totally forgot that one, probably a B maybe even C for me. Regular layout is a lot better. The extra bit was a bit tight and annoying apart from the sweeper that also is on the 'oval' layout

Sadly, most of the "good" American circuits are either in the middle of absolutely nowhere (Road America), need too much work done that may ruin the circuit (Road Atlanta), or both (Watkins Glen).
By the way, the Las Vegas street circuit is absolute shit for F1, Indycar would be good there, but not F1
True, it really is a shame because the US has so many great racetracks but F1 can't use any of them.

Why do you have a problem with oil money? I mean we sell oil and you use it everyday. If we don’t sell it your countries would collapse. And oil money is better than stealing the resources of other countries and making a fortune out of it.
In addition, you mentioned human rights issues with BAH, KSA, and UAE while not mentioning other countries human rights records such as china, USA, france, and turkey, etc...
Why do you always mix up politics with sports when it comes to the Middle East and separate them for other countries? This is a sport and it shouldn’t be politicized it should make us closer by looking at your and my different perspectives and respect the differences. You just can’t impose your values on other cultures and it is not your job to do so...
All I’m asking for is some neutrality when it comes to the Arabian Gulf countries...
