I'd really like to see them buff banshees. It feels like they lose to literally anything that can shoot air. Their only purpose is to harass mineral lines, which most good players are super good at stopping.

So not that much in common with a Muta at all aside from both fly and are a bit squishy.

Can see in this games that a few stalkers can shoo a few banshees away. And it's stupid to make mass banshees just for harrassing the mineral lines. They can't fight anywhere else. Plus they'll be in one control group so if you micro them to hit the workers they'll just kill one at a time even if there's like 10 of them. Compared to mutas that just splash the workers when they're in mass. Basically banshees suck at being massed and also suck if theyre few.
Banshee has 6 range, muta only has 3. Not to mention the banshee have 12x2 attack compared to mutas 9. They don't need to get close, just enough to get a shot off before backing away. If banshee base stat get buffed we'll start seeing banshee ravaging bases instead of simple harrassment.
That front line siege from 30:53 to 31:40 was just a work of art. A very SPECIAL work of art. Just slow it down and appreciate what he did there. Terran's who can pull that off will win 99% of games under grandmaster.
I know the GSL doesn't release their replay packs but you must, and I mean must, somehow find the replay and commentate the game 3 of TY vs sOs in the GSL Super Tournament 2. It was, and I'm dead serious, the absolute best TvP you'll ever see. Seriously!

So theoretically it was not able to see the entire screen, in practise it could (sort of). The main reason why Alphastar was so good then was due to the perfect micro due to no repeated commands.

It is not that SpeCial did not know how to use them, Parting just did not go for immortals as was expected even by Lowko. If he did there might have been gaps in vision for the banshees to slip trough. Very interesting play from both players.
You can't play banshees like that without vikings and ravens sweeping the observers. And then you have to micro a raven/viking command group (expensive and squishy), a group of banshees (expensive and squishy), and your cyclone/tank (expensive and squishy). Against a guy like Parting that's just asking for him to pull you apart, his micro is way too good to try to juggle that against him.
Special was absolutely not ready for three Colossi to come knocking on his door in that last game. He had absolutely no way to deal with them at all, and the Stalkers blinking forward to kill the Siege Tanks locked the game up for Parting. What a great series! It was nice to see the back-and-forth strategies throughout the games. PvT is still my favorite matchup to watch.
I would love to see a video talking about all units and with which units to best counter them as Protoss, Terran, Zerg. Maybe with a short explaination why. That content would propably fill some videos.
Finally, about time PartinG shows up here again! PS:the one thing, i will never understand about proxy builds, is the fact that in like 90% of the times they seem to actively lure the enemy towards their "hidden" buildings, wich dooms that entire proxi plan most of the time!

Instead they give them shit like hellbats and more static siege/defense in liberators. The banshee/liberator is a garbage replacement for wraiths/valkyries. There's no reason why they need to be left out of SC2 because mech is so nerfed to the ground as it is...queens by themselves own mech all game except maybe mass thor which you can't get to at any competitive level.
That felt like poor unit composition for both special and parting game 1. But parting is just so good. Marines would have ripped through that stalker heavy comp after partings bad trade early game.

The analogy to track runners does not work at all. The whole preserve stamina that you always bring up does not make any sense because it's two players going against each other. If special stays in the game parting has to keep playing as well. It literally makes 0 sense. Pro tennis players (which is closer to sc2 imo) never give up games no matter how far behind, they will always play hard trying to wear down their opponent proving who has better conditioning.
you're forgetting the morale aspect, and also the asymmetry. If you're down 100 points to 1 in tennis, your opponent doesn't suddenly grow two extra arms or anything, whereas in StarCraft, part of being behind means you have to work twice as hard just to stay in the game.

Staying in a Starcraft game you are loosing is *harder* than staying in one you are winning. Thus, every second spend in a loosing game is yielding the endurance advantage to your opponent for the next game. They are the hardest race to play, and Mech is in a bad place right now. It makes Terran rather predictable, and bio -- while powerful -- is difficult to micro, especially against Zergling/Baneling Zerg. Zerg is less technical but had a late-game army that is amazingly difficult to control and that trades inefficiently. Protoss is more technical and early losses can be punished hard, but their late-game options are easier to control than both Zerg and Terran and their efficiency in the late game is through the roof. Terran is highly technical throughout the game and has armies that are both difficult to control and somewhat inflexible thanks to how Siege Tanks, Widow Mines and Liberators work. All this is why I play Zerg and Protoss but not Terran; I'm just not good enough at micro.

Cyclones are pretty good against immortals, I wouldn't say immortals are the only reason it's uncommon to see mech vs protoss.
