I saw this at the Papermill Playhouse and haven't stopped singing the songs. I also signed up for tap lessons with my daughter at the time. Very Infectious.

This whole production is exceptional. The dancing and choreography is phenomenal, the sets are properly old timey and well incorporated into the dancing, and the whole cast is great. The only problem is that I can't see it better.
Unfortunately it seems the production was never really well received. With a Gershwin songbook you’d think it could stay on Broadway indefinitely but it wasn’t really the case. It never really became the next “Cats.”
Hats off to Larry Linville for taking on the role as Everett despite his health declining. You can tell he gets winded at times as he was dying from cancer. He had part of his lung removed to battle a malignant tumor hence the occasional heavy breathing. Also it was good to hear that "Major Frank Burns cackle" at 20:42 that he was known for on M*A*S*H. RIP Larry.
I saw the original broadway show in NY twice with jodi benson harry groener. Have a signed poster . Saw it again in west end with new cast . And going to see new show in london in the next few months:))
I watched this PBS version on TV, I think this was a donation for BW union or something in 1999. I watched CFY in West end, Japan and BW around in 1993. This show is the best show ever!
Stunning. I saw the original Australian version of this production and knew a couple of the cast. Such energy and panache. In one of my reference books there is a description of how Susan Stroman choreographed I GOT RHYTHM This is Old time Broadway Magic with technical expertise way above the old days. Thanks for posting
Can we get this level of production value BACK please! The majority of what’s being staged now is atrocious. Can’t even write an original score. They just pull from… pop culture? Thanks for posting this!
was floating around on a channel by the name of Paul Dillon around the time you wrote this comment, but seems to have gone! Good luck on your search - Everettt (amateur production)
Why the fck didn't they record Harry Groener and the rest of the original cast? Why is that we can't never get a professional video of OG casts like Into The Woods?
Very disappointing. I (generously) gave it forty-four minutes. As a lifelong fan of MGM musicals, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rodgers movies and Busby Berkeley, I know a good musical when I see it. Sadly, this was not a good one.

笑い有り涙あり、ミュージカルで1番好き
1番好きなミュージカル!加藤啓二さんと保坂知寿さんのが忘れられません!
The fact that Jim Walton was in his 50’s and dancing like this is wild.
It is simply golden music that shall never dies.
One of my favourite musicals ever! Funny, sad, romance, and very catchy musical numbers!
One of my favourite musicals as well and I saw it recently at the Gillian Lynne Theatre in London in July 2023 which was fantastic
Absolutely wonderful. A Gershwin love letter to Broadway, the follies and to musical theatre everywhere. Thank you so much for posting this treasure.
とても素晴らしい🎉英語わからないけど、先日劇団四季の舞台を観たばかりなのでコメディのシーンでまた笑った😊
アンサンブルのダンスシーンもとても好き👏また観たいミュージカル🎉

Why hasn’t this been a movie????
Because they'd screw it up like they always do
@@warriorunderfire9368 at this point in Hollywood’s life, I can’t argue with that.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR UPLOADING THIS!
My school is doing this for our spring musical this year. Really excited to see how this scene is choreographed 1:31:07
Omg i love that scene so much

Wow I wish I saw this when it was playing in the West End. How was the production?
Wow - what a production! Aren't they fabulous?
Of course!
Ya.
Jim Walton's performance sensational! A down to earth Fred Astaire with plenty sex appeal to match his charismatic talent.
Originally, the cowboy trio was performed by these three guys who were known as the Manhattan Rhythm Kings.
Thank you for sharing : )

Just saw it in Maine and it was amazing same choreography
Where can we get a decent version of this ... DVD, Digital download? I'd love to see a clearer, sharper version! Love this musical

Where is Rebecca Parker playing as Mitiz

Well you missed all the best stuff….including the legendary 9 minute SPECTACULAR version of I Got Rhythm.
