when hybrid variety of wheat came to India everybody talked that its not good for health etc. But then who feed millions of hungry people. Remember pL480? and now we are self sufficient in wheat. some impartial authority appointed by govt. of India should clear the doubts i
I've been eating cheap GMO oranges my whole life, until I got into Iraq. The first ever organic orange I had was half the size and darker in color and belive me nothing tasted better. Most of the food there is organic and I can't belive I've been shoving rubish into my mouth my entire life.
I moved from Iraq to the US few years back, until then I didn't know how tasteless fruits and vegetables can be. and believe me that was the hardest thing to adjust too. I truly feel bad for people who never knew how fruits actually taste, I'm glad you got the chance to experience that, as I feel it will be impossible to do so in few years.
+Hisham K. Alwan... There's no access to organic food where you live ? In Europe we can buy great variety in almost every shop, at least in major towns. The country population isn't that interested...
NastyAutist there is, but the price is always an ussue plus it is not the same, you can grow as much organic food as you want but the seeds have came from the same source, unless you can eat food preduced from seeds that the farmers kept through generation then at the end you still eating the same thing but has been grown using a diffrent method.
I saw some banana planting, harvesting, handling, packing and processing in some south American countries. Far superior for avoiding damage to bananas and more economical.
Belgium prohibits GMOs for its domestic consumption and promotes it in Tanzania I am very sure they see the Africans as genie pigs as they used to experiment on then on the Congo. The sad part is the Africans we will never learn
+Weli Hassan... as it turns out, you are the one that needs to learn here mate, these Bananas are NOT GM (Genetically Modified) 'sensu stricto'.... these are actually products of conventional breeding... as a matter of fact, there is no commercially available GM Banana or plantain anywhere in the world... Ugandan & Australian scientists are leading efforts to Genetically Modify Banana but this is still largely at experimental stage and is not likely to hit the market for another 4-5 years
+Weli Hassan I'm not a banana expert like how thereelshady claims to be. but I know he is a god damn liar. I can go in the supermarket and buy organic bananas, which means they have GMO bananas. get him the fuck outer here

There are bunches of similar lengths which are not GMO. One concern is the effect on farmers' physique. I am certain one farmer could carry the non-GMO bananas. Look at them struggle here. Well, better GMO than the killer fertilizers.
How safe is the new breed, FHIA? What are the long-term health effects of consuming this banana? From the video, the farmers like this type of banana because of money and the large size of bananas.
+Duy Phan The way I understand it, they harvest banana when it is green so it is stronger and tough, so it can be handled during transport to market. And during that time it will ripen, so when the customer finally buys it it will be yellow. If they wait to harvest when they are yellow, the bananas will be black by the time they reach market and no one will buy them.
+Duy Phan I'm sure they leave their personal bananas on the tree longer to ripen. Commercial ones need to ripen over time on the way to the supermarket. you can't afford to hold onto ripening bananas, gotta move em green.
I'm sure the banana industry has been growing the right varieties for commercial sale, that ripen over a few days. Maybe each of us will look for a vid showing them ripening on a tree.
The hardworking people=Farmers👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Happy to see people are getting enriched by proper farming, doing the right thing.
Farmers reward is from God above.
Nice Job Mr Donge! The fate of banana processors in Tanzania is in the hands of many stakeholders including SIDO. See you soon!

very nice . i like it .
Why do they keep the stems so long?
+Jetta Driver : The stems are later used to plant banana trees. Because banana branches are used to plant banana trees.
in truth, they are not technically "trees". looks great, just not liking the fact that they planted the gmo strain, and got rid of the natural one.
@@rasmorgan11 I somehow both agree and disagree with your comment

but they harvest the banana too early, banana fruit still young and it's still grow to max size and will taste better
+Duy Phan green banana is a staple in African and the Caribbean, we boil it.
Here in Viet Nam we boil it sometimes too but when u cut off it too early, inside banana is tiny and skin very thick, heavy but waste
