No matter how many times I watch this movie, I don’t ever get tired of it. Marion’s last name is Crane, which is a kind of bird. She lives in Phoenix, which is the name of a mythical bird. Norman Bates stuffs birds.
I have to throw some respect your way for going totally black and white with this guys. So many reactors seem allergic to black and white, putting themselves in colour while watching a film in black and white. They are apparently all unaware how distracting that can be to the viewer. Might I recommend another great (black and white) Hitchcock thriller, Strangers on a Train (1951). I recently edited a reaction to that film for another channel and I insisted the whole thing had to black and white or I wouldn't do it. Other great Hitchcock films: Vertigo (1958) - my favourite so top of the list - Rope (1948), Dial M for Murder (1954) and Rear Window (1954). The man made countless classics but, rather than provide an absurdly long list, I've mentioned my favourites. I'm sure replies suggesting the favourites will soon appear below. Hitchcock was a true innovator of cinema and modern films owe him so much.
Here is my list, beginning with my favorite (the first two on the list are practically tied): North by Northwest, Rear Window, Psycho, Vertigo, Strangers on a Train, The Birds, Shadow of a Doubt, Lifeboat, The Lady Vanishes, Notorious. That’s my top ten list as of today.

I think the time of year was December to emphasize the dark shadows.
This movie is the reason I have to have clear shower curtains!
It’s the reason I always lock the bathroom door when I take a shower.
