@@nocturnediopside5750 On the plus side, think of the local rep that comes afterwards. No one in their right mind is going to mess with the house armed with a flamethrower!
Too bad it only lasts less than a minute. Nice though. Note-Don't ever try to put 190 PSI in a fire extinguisher. They only hold about 80PSI at the green mark. Have used shop air and a rubber tipped blow gun a few times to recharge them. Thanks for the idea!
We may be using different tanks. This fire extinguishers green mark is labeled at 185 psi. In fact to charge the tank the pressure must exceed 200psi to open the valve. The tank is rated to 400psi. I charge to 185psi and that flame will go a long time if i don't back off on it. A 10sec blast only consumes about 2 cups of gas. I've put a whole gallon through it before in one-shot with no effect on tank pressure.
Good informative video man Seems a little easier to do than the other main flamethrower build on YT involving the scuba tank, Wouldn't it be easier to use a pressure washer with a trigger on it as opposed to the valve you are using?
I used a lot of what I could easily obtain cheap or on hand. I preferred the ball valve knowing I had a confirmed "off" position instead of a hidden trigger system that may fail and leak leaving me screwed to stop flow without secondary shutoff. Also the end tip was easily adjustable based on NPT for different size barb fitting sizes. Orginal design was still learning what size orifice was best for flame and distance. I didn't want to mess with the propriety quick connect/threaded end of a pressure washer nozzle. I looked at a bunch, but the hookups for each end were more difficult to make universal for what I wanted to do.
Yeah i understand, if this can be done with whatever is handy instead of a big shopping list that is way more practical, you should do some more vids on this, maybe see what kind of fuel mixtures work well with this flamethrower i.e gasoline and motor oil
Hey, I gotta question. My threads are too small so I need adapters/attachments to make the gun fit into a shut off valve. Can I use brass plumbing adapters/attachments? With the gas tape of course
I've usually only put in about a gallon (roughly...never really measured) of gas for show and stuff, but that gets me probably 5 sustained shots of 6-8 seconds each. Never really had a use for longer periods of use.
thats awesome and very safe well done only one thing maybe the fuel tank is OK but the nitrogen tank looks so heavy which means it makes it unable to carry. Am I wrong?
It is heavy. Probably not so heavy you couldn't rig a back strap for. I'd say still lighter than what a fireman carries on his back. They do however sell nitrogen tanks that size in aluminum. You can carry those with 2 fingers. They are just pretty pricey. Steel tank is what I had on hand...does the job.
@@Cibervirus83 pretty cool bro if it's light as you said I think you can use scuba diving tanks as fuel tank that makes your machine do the job longer. this fire extinguisher looks a little bit small for this kind of project. very nice after all.

Isn't the cost of the nitrogen cylinder and finding a source of nitrogen the reason why people just use compressed air?
Probably. I already had the gear on hand and prefer an extra level of safety with an inert gas. Tank $75, gas refills $11......safety: priceless.
Hey, I gotta question. My threads are too small so I need adapters/attachments to make the gun fit into a shut off valve. Can I use brass plumbing adapters/attachments? With the gas tape of course
Brass would be fine. Just use a sealant on threads rated for gas.
