You're killing me Claus, I purchased your alternate picking mastery course and I'm only ready to start week one, and focus on picking on one string, and doing everything correctly, I can't imagine forgetting about everything else and only focus on the first elementary idea of alternate picking, but if it drives me insane, you won't hear from me

Weird you mention that. I bought Claus's Alternate Picking course about 9 months ago. Had to start from ground zero because I developed bad picking habits over the years.
Trained literally about 1-2 hours a day. 5-6 days a week. 9 LOOONG months. Now my picking is off the charts. When I started out I couldn't imagine being where I am now. I pushed and pushed and analyzed the shit out of every stroke like a scientist, and I'm STILL improving. Never quit on that course. Rehash the videos over and over if you have too. That ONE course made my guitar skills quadruple, I'm not even being hyperbolic.

@@KJT3000 the same hear. It's the only method that give me guaranteed results when speaking about picking speed. I'm also improving yet and have some bpms waiting me at the end of this month! Haha

Hey Claus, throughout the years I've found now as I got older my pinkie knuckle on my fret hand no longer works smoothly. So I now have to compensate for that lack of motion when practicing your exercises. Legato works fine for me to a certain extent and I can get by, but the real issue is the alternate picking while doing fast scale runs and string skipping.... I really appreciate your lessons and I know they will be very beneficial for younger guitarists!
Thank you for all your time and effort !!!

if anyone prefers 8 note sequences, just add pull off (pinky to pointer) and hammer (pointer to either note, your choice)...

First of all my hands are so big I have to wrap my thumb around the fretboard, I find placing it behind slows me down. I've practiced using my fingertips for 3 years now. I only slightly faster than I was 3 years ago using the same techniques you presented. Some guitars players just are not speedy.

I will definitely spend time on this process everyday, but I can't imagine doing just this exercise for an hour and then working on theory and everything else. There just aren't enough hours in the day. Unless I hit the lottery and retire😋

No where in here does he say "also work on other things". He says use the power of focus to master just one thing to alien like skill and everything else will be easier later.

@@YEM_ I apply that focus to ALL of my exercises, as best as I can. I also take "formal"(paid) lessons every other week with a good friend/former bandmate, and he gives me tailored exercises based on exactly what I need. That definitely keeps me regimented and pushing my limits, I fully understand it's a bit different if you're only getting lesson plans from videos. I get your point though👍

No. He said do it as slow as your body can build back the ATP. Each person has a point where they will get tired. You have to go slower than what you will get tired. Let your body build up.
