This was Bradbury; I don't remember exactly which trails but it was all stuff on the non-mountain side - most of it I think is Ginn, which is a big loop, and some of the double track around it. Not super exciting as I've ridden there a lot, but I'm hoping to get out to try those new trails in Windham this weekend and will post a video of them if I do!
I have a coach. He's got at least one athlete headed to the Paris Olympics this summer, and he's also a highly qualified bike fitter, so I'm gonna take his opinion and advice over yours but thanks for the comments!
I ride Zwift clipped in but I'm afraid to do it outside. The guys at the bike shop said "you're gonna fall once and embarrass yourself, but after that you'll never have a problem again." I guess I just need to follow in your footsteps and take the plunge! BTW are those Five Ten Trailcross CLs? I bought some on an Adidas sale a couple months back, and the first pair I got was a half size too small. I exchanged them for a half size up and they fit pretty well now.
They are indeed 510 trailcrosses, although I'm not loving them to be honest. I got a pair of Shimano shoes I'm going to switch to once I've been able to do another bike fit and get them set up properly.
@@wematanye533 for sure! I'm planning to do a full bike / gear check video once I've gotten everything set and tested to the point that I think it's ready for the race.
ive been watching vids to release my psoas and illiacus hip muscles and it straightened out my feet and a whole other problems.....i had the same problem with my right going out farther than my left.....its better but im still trying to get the full release of those muscles.....im actually feeling better walking wise, i wasnt triggering my glutes and now i am and my ham strings are not so tight ......human body is such a weird thing......going to the chiro next week.....see what he can do, hopefully something
I ditched clips in 1999 for platforms and never regretted it. Ride what you want, but you really have to ask ‘what’s the point?’ Nothing about that trail that demanded the clipped in security of a clip pedal. The inevitable non release incident was you….(it’ll keep happening too, because mountain biking is so random). Best of luck
I'm putting clips on one bike for ZC racing. It's about ensuring a consistent pedal stroke, not the security of being clipped in - on gnarlier stuff I will stick to flats.
I find it helps to be putting downward pressure as I kick out. Think of smearing dog poop off of your shoe. Also, having your cleats adjusted properly can make a difference in the release. If your cleats are a little loose, sometimes you can't get out, which will get your attention! Also, as you get more comfortable with clips, you'll likely want to tighten your pedals up, or go to the regular cleats, because you'll be pulling out accidentally setup the way you are. I find that on technical, struggle climbs is where Im most likely to have a tip over. My son loves to laugh at me when this happens.

Just ride the thing 😂😂
Nice job Charlie - appreciate the updates and gives me motivation - curious what trails these are?

Yeah my coach linked me to a video, the foundation 12 minute workout/stretch thing, and it seems to be helping a bit with some of the foot stuff too
clips......good info

Useless video. It's only purpose is to say hey everybody look at me!!
Thanks for commenting so more people will see it!
@@CharlieWentOutside It doesn't work that way Mr. Narcissism.
