In my high school, for the last song of the last concert the seniors go stand with their parents, and the rest of the choir sings this song to them. Always leaves my choir director in tears. When I was a senior it was the most beautiful moment I’ve experienced in music.
Habe ich heute in Zeiten der Coronakrise, in einem TV Gottesdienst gehört. Dieses Lied mit seinem Text hat mich sehr gerührt. Und ich musste an meinen Sohn denken. Wir können uns grad nicht sehen. Until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of his hand Fabian.
This song is my group's wrap-up song ever since it was founded in the late 70's. Anytime I sing it, I can feel the souls of those who have been in the group in the past singing with us at the time. Always brings tears to my eyes.
this is by far the best rendition of this beautiful blessing, i first heard it on extreme makeover when a group sang it for their classmate that had cancer and i loved it ever since
I love this song. We sang it in high school choir and it is a favorite. Although their ending is lovely, their director seems to be rushing through it!
Yes it is! You can see some of our formers on the sides of the risers. Anytime we perform this song we will invite our past members to join us, as it as been tradition to do so for a very long time!
We had this sung at our wedding in 1973. I had sung it with the Civilian Chorus at A&M. We had friends from our high school choir sing it as a blessing upon all the loved ones at our wedding. We were moving out of state and were not sure when we would be seeing any of them again. It was just beautiful.
This will probably be the last song of my singing career (i.e. the last one I sing in secondary school with choir) as I'm about to graduate and going to do maths... bittersweet feeling after 8 years...
Magnificent and beautiful ❤️
Thank you!!!

Our school choirs have a similar tradition. It’s lovely
Did you go to Shawnee Mission East?
Fr mine do too😂
My high school too. I'd never cried at school until last year of Mt senior day. I cried like a baby on stage.
This is so beautiful. I wish we had done this when I was in high school
I'm an Newborn and Infant Nanny and Newborn Care Specialist. I sing this as a lullaby to bless the sweet angels I get to look after.

What a splendid performance! Our church choir sang this about 20 years ago and it has never left me. Thank you for sharing this choral masterpiece!

Simply beautiful, this was one of my favorites to sing in Concert Chorale in High School.
Thank you! I've been looking for this version, as it is my favorite arrangement of this blessing. Beautifully done!

Sang this in choir in high school.
Sent it to my daughter as she boarded a plane to go work abroad for 8 months...
They sing a lot this beautiful hymn in the presbyterian church; the church of my childhood. Many great memories.

Hi Napa High.
Gyönyörű! partitúrához hozzá lehet jutni?
I have a comment to make, the vowels were very wide... i am a music student and, it sounded good just, the vowels need to be taller.
+Bradley I agree. it also sounded a tad rushed
