I love Daryl's character, because he is the most normal one. He is how a normal person would react if they were thrust into the office universe. between dealing with Michael, romance, and dealing with the every day struggle of trying to get ahead in life.
His attempts to become manager just killed me. I respect that he wanted to look presentable and anxiety got the better of him but you have to be honest and brief or it looks like polishing.
This really was such a beautiful story about a life so many people lead. Maybe not me personally. I tend to jump around companies and never form long term bonds. But so many of the people I’ve met along the way, that settle into where they are, it’s cliche but it truly does become a family of sorts. You can form lifelong bonds just off the work you do, the gatherings, the extra hours. You learn more about these people than you often do your own friends at certain points in life. They captured that beautifully. So often I look at an office complex and I think, some people will spend their whole lives there. It used to be sad to me. But you watch this show, there’s a certain beauty in that.
This video is evidence for me for why I think Darryl should have been the new manager. He’s way different from Michael where you don’t feel like they’re just trying to replace the magic. He would have brought in a different energy haha. Someone who appears competent but is bumbling haha
Yesssss, Andy felt like he was trying too hard, creed made no sense, Deangelo should’ve worked but failed miserably and Robert was just… weird. Darryl would’ve been a really interesting office manager

Coordinated and implemented receipt storage and delivery of over 2.5 billion units of inventory - maybe Darryl sucks at interviews, but probably has an impressive Linkedin profile!
Kinda ironic Darryl was the one that constantly clowned Michael early on the show for trying to be cool with the warehouse guys. So when Darryl tries to fit in with the white collar environment upstairs, he comes off as out of touch.
Pam trying to use her apprehension to discourage Daryl was so mean of her. Jim was finally living his dream and she used every avenue to try and sabotage it.
