      man, cool video, where should I send my demos? I have few good ones on my account even through the fact I am mostly useless meat shield (S1, dropped from S2 which was my best😅) I made few good plays and I would be happy to share them do other guys so they will know how to do things as I on maps I like. On Office I made 2 nice aces so these might be interesting or me twisting dust 2 from 4:11 to 16:14.

    takeaways:
    1. Usually, try to be far away from the angle while your enemy is close to it
    2. Unless youre peeking into an AWP/know exactly where your enemy is -> then it could be good to "ferrari peek" and counterstrafe into one tap after overextending the peek
    3. don't peek slowly, most importantly, dont shift or crab walk into the angle, unless you know your enemy is stuck and you can mow him down before he sees you
    4. don't peek in a way where you can't disengage from the fight
    5. try to time your peeks so you catch people offguard or pressing w - likewise don't get caught pressing w
    6. Don't just stand in an angle, always jitter and unpeek/repeek
    7. after getting a kill, don't hold the same angle for a few seconds to avoid getting prefired
    8. use utility, but wisely! a flash at long range is useless
    9. prefire, but only if you're confident you know where your enemy is

    This is the best vid ive seen on your channel! I think the tip of taking a step back to peek at max speed was the most informative, as for example when I watch NiKo peek angles I only think about him doing so to line up the shot, not to also do it as quickly as possible.
    It definitely takes a lot longer to clear many angles like from B Apartments on Mirage going back and fourth, but if the game is about taking every advantage you can get it should always be done (unless there's 10 seconds left).

  • @unltdconciousness

    The most useful thing I learned was backing up slightly as you transition between multiple close angles. It had never occurred to my that you can increase your movement velocity that way so that you peak the corner as quickly as possible. Thanks voo.

    What is quite interesting is with the clip on vertigo, where you said he caught the enemy off guard. This is something I notice a lot in the ranks of GN and MG. Nearly all of their plays are based on catching the enemy off guard. I found this to be interesting, since nearly all my deaths when I play at this rank are because people are in unusual spots, hiding, baiting their mates. or repeeking at very odd times, repeaking when you doń expect them, which can actually make it quite hard to beat them.

      80% of the time its not intentional. Novas rarely even know What the default angles are, they just chill in some weird spots you wouldnt expect. It sometimes drives me crazy. Like on Mirage playing T side, you peek understairs first, clear, jiggle a bit, then get ready to peak Firebox and see a CT standing out in the open between firebox and stairs and hes just holding pit angle with all focus. Cant be that mad but damn why would you just stand there, dont make no sense

    and why does F0rtyy has such a peekers advantage while peeking? his peeks and kills aren't really fast, but he still sees the enemy fully and has enough time to react while the enemies only saw him for a brief moment and died.
    and why didn't mousesport simply spammed the smoke?

    • @RobinDschafft
      @RobinDschafft 3 роки тому +4

      chrisJ gets to cover reloading losing line of sight towards quad - you can clearly see him worrying for a sec s1mple moved back after he lost sight instead of going further his track - if he had started to spam at this point he'd pretty much pinpoint his exact location to s1mple resulting in either 1.getting directly rekt through the smoke 2.getting rekt from s1mple actually being quad 3. getting rekt from any angle the smoke provided s1mple

    • @omster_
      @omster_ 3 роки тому +4

      If you're both spamming the smoke you can easily be caught off guard from a completely different angle. Also you're just telegraphing your position doing that

    • @nd7024
      @nd7024 3 роки тому +7

      F0rtyy gets peekers advantage because of the way he's peeking, that's the whole point of the video. Specifically the last kill, the way he strafed back into the smoke before peeking out made the enemy think he was falling back to hold an angle, they didn't expect the repeek so they put their crosshair into the edge of the smoke, giving F0rtyy the advantage and making it look like a faster peek than it actually was because their crosshair placement was off.

    Before I started playing CS:Go I played CS:CZ because I was on some shitty old mac and I decided to join an empty server. It is there where I saw a Xantares peek performed by the opponent (be it by accident or not) for the first time. I learned that trick quite early on, saw that no one else is using it and always seem to think that it's just some low rank thing that mainly works for me.
    Seeing this style of peeking be given a name makes me wanna revisit CZ or 1.6 and see what I can learn from these old veterans still haunting these old games.
    Perhaps we should in general look into lower ranks, different games or pros that came from a different background to try and find new tricks and plays

  • @andrewbennett2582

    Thanks so much voo for another informative as always video. I have a question relating to what you say at roughly 6:30. You say when peeking angles that are close together you should strafe back into cover before peeking the next angle in order to gain speed. Here do you just sort of have it in your mind before hand to strafe back, or do you actively strafe back only when you don’t see anyone? So I guess another way of putting it is how long do you stay on each individual angle? If I have it in my mind to strafe back before moving to the next angle, I’m not sure my brain would register seeing an enemy and shooting at them before I automatically strafed back in and so in a sense I would be moving around the map without shooting anyone! I hope you understand my query!

      @andrewbennett2582 3 роки тому

      also, say with an AK what kind of speed should I be reaching by the time I come to a stop on the angle, to get to max 215 I have to be strafing a very long way..

    “Here we have a wild awper in his natural habitat. He can be very dangerous at long range but watch what happens when i rush him after he misses his first shot.
    Watch him as he jump around in a feeble attempt to try kill me with his pistol this is a natural response”

    IMO in the last clip Xantares was actually backing down and didn't actually wanted to peek but it was device who just came running for instant trade to which xantares just reacted on the footsteps.

    Surprised you didn't talk at all about crouch/strafe peeking, particularly into pre-fire angles, which is something that I associate with Xantares, and I'll admit I try to emulate myself (with a fair amount of success). It often catches opponents off guard and it's just a case of lining up where you want your crosshair to be before you crouch into the peek angle. From the opponent's POV it's almost a diagonal motion, because you're wide peeking and crouching at the same time, while giving yourself the shortest possible reaction time.

      Ye with soft aim .. as u can see on CT frag .. and on the cat guy kill .. hes moving and shooting from that far distance yet his every bullet hits the target while his crosshair is not on point + he didnt finish the ct guy at first yet he is still moving and spraying while his recoil didnt reset and still every bullet hits the target .. slow down the speed u will see soft aim software usage..

    honestly everything in this game is communication and knowledge. Aim really doesnt matter as much as you think. If shroud had the game knowledge of a silver he would probably never even reach MG. Im actually amazed about how much time people spend aim training, rather than learning the map, callouts, pop smokes, flashes etc

    • @jamieeddolls5605
      @jamieeddolls5605 Рік тому +1

      depends on the map, your teammates and your opposition. Can easily win games on pure aim if the people you're against can't match you especially if it's mirage or something, even old Navi with Edward and Zeus were one of the best teams with s1mple just baiting them all and self carrying.

    • @inutero3516

      @@jamieeddolls5605 using purely aim would never work outside of gold nova. atleast not when i played in 2018. i've heard every rank up until LEM is just the same now and it looks like its true from youtube clips. But a team with purely global elites with mainly aim would honestly stand very slight chance against a team of gold novas with godlike game sense
