I think the tip of taking a step back to peek at max speed was the most informative, as for example when I watch NiKo peek angles I only think about him doing so to line up the shot, not to also do it as quickly as possible. It definitely takes a lot longer to clear many angles like from B Apartments on Mirage going back and fourth, but if the game is about taking every advantage you can get it should always be done (unless there's 10 seconds left).
14:34 can we not forget the small detail from s1mple which was he shot his weapon as he jumped down from the wall so the enemies couldn't hear him fall.
What is quite interesting is with the clip on vertigo, where you said he caught the enemy off guard. This is something I notice a lot in the ranks of GN and MG. Nearly all of their plays are based on catching the enemy off guard. I found this to be interesting, since nearly all my deaths when I play at this rank are because people are in unusual spots, hiding, baiting their mates. or repeeking at very odd times, repeaking when you doń expect them, which can actually make it quite hard to beat them.
80% of the time its not intentional. Novas rarely even know What the default angles are, they just chill in some weird spots you wouldnt expect. It sometimes drives me crazy. Like on Mirage playing T side, you peek understairs first, clear, jiggle a bit, then get ready to peak Firebox and see a CT standing out in the open between firebox and stairs and hes just holding pit angle with all focus. Cant be that mad but damn why would you just stand there, dont make no sense
6:12 its sometimes hard to know when you peek well, something i learnt quite late was that you need to over-emphasise your peeks a lot. so go back a step or two then peek a step or two not just tapping A and D.
Never been so early and this exactly what i needed. edit: how can be nbh with that movement and aim mge???? and why does F0rtyy has such a peekers advantage while peeking? his peeks and kills aren't really fast, but he still sees the enemy fully and has enough time to react while the enemies only saw him for a brief moment and died. and why didn't mousesport simply spammed the smoke?
chrisJ gets to cover reloading losing line of sight towards quad - you can clearly see him worrying for a sec s1mple moved back after he lost sight instead of going further his track - if he had started to spam at this point he'd pretty much pinpoint his exact location to s1mple resulting in either 1.getting directly rekt through the smoke 2.getting rekt from s1mple actually being quad 3. getting rekt from any angle the smoke provided s1mple
If you're both spamming the smoke you can easily be caught off guard from a completely different angle. Also you're just telegraphing your position doing that
F0rtyy gets peekers advantage because of the way he's peeking, that's the whole point of the video. Specifically the last kill, the way he strafed back into the smoke before peeking out made the enemy think he was falling back to hold an angle, they didn't expect the repeek so they put their crosshair into the edge of the smoke, giving F0rtyy the advantage and making it look like a faster peek than it actually was because their crosshair placement was off.

Here do you just sort of have it in your mind before hand to strafe back, or do you actively strafe back only when you don’t see anyone? So I guess another way of putting it is how long do you stay on each individual angle? If I have it in my mind to strafe back before moving to the next angle, I’m not sure my brain would register seeing an enemy and shooting at them before I automatically strafed back in and so in a sense I would be moving around the map without shooting anyone! I hope you understand my query!
also, say with an AK what kind of speed should I be reaching by the time I come to a stop on the angle, to get to max 215 I have to be strafing a very long way..
it's peek -> angle is clear -> strafe back peek next. there's not really a timing for it, but I'm not saying to jiggle the angle, just to move back before peeking the next
