Your know those leads from the multimeter have covers right, or caps however you want to call them, and you can remove them for a longer needle, i say this because it seemed like you didn't know at that time and struggled making contact with the batteries. @@DrivingIntelligence
I replaced all the batteries in the NiCd pack with Tenergy 2200mAh batteries from Amazon, which also read about 19.5v. However, it smoked my drill!. I removed 1 of the sub-c batteries and it works great now. New voltage reading is 17.91v. The new batteries are much more powerful. Been using my drill for days without needing to recharge! 👍
I just upgraded my Drill Master 18v NiCad to Lithium Ion Warrior batteries. I did need to break off the positive lead on the drill but was easy enough to 3d print a small insert. I also ordered a piece of brass to replace the broken tine. Snied it to fit. Glued in my 3d insert. Then soldered the positive wire to the new brass lead. Slid the battery on and bam! It works!
Looks easy… but expensive tool
You’re right, I wouldn’t have bought it if I didn’t have other batteries to repair
