I've been an appliance salesman for 34 years now. These are idiots at the department and energy. Only 2 things happen when these appliances are mandated to get more energy efficient. The price goes up and the average life of the appliance goes down. And I get dissatisfied customers. It totally pisses me off. Trump 2024. We need him now!!!!!

I have a Sears Kenmore washer and dryer that is 25 years old and still going strong. This is what going green is all about. Things that last, easy and cheap to fix and never end up in the landfill.

I’m talking about multiple times per wash or NOTHING IS CLEAN!!!!! Had to finally get a new dishwasher….had to pay $500 for a halfway decent one and have to usually run it twice. These idiots need to take a science class. It's a water CYCLE, not a water "it's gone forever". To look at it on a small scale, you have a well. The well pumps the water up to your house. The water washes things and goes down the drain. The drain leads to the septic system where the water is released into the ground to be filtered and return to the water table. If there is ANY argument to be made, it's that you shouldn't live in a place that doesn't have available ground water.
I have been saying this from when they changed the toilets to less water, I have to flush two or three times !

I worked for a municipal water department for 44 years. Water is recycled. If you flush the toilet or wash your dishes, that water runs through a sewer system, then on to a treatment plant, cleaned up , chemically treated, then pumped back into the potable water system for people to reuse.

My old dishwasher took 35 minutes to clean a full load of pots, pans, cutlery, and glasses.
My new, "energy efficient" dishwasher takes 1 hour 10 minutes to clean the same exact load.
It takes me twice as long to shower using a new water restrictor shower head in my morning shower. Hmmmm
How can an appliance be "energy efficient" when it takes twice as long to perform the same function ???

I am 80 and hand wash my dishes and other people who I live with.
Most of my dishes aren't dishwasher safe, so I hand wash too.
