Eh, let me inform you that every member of the Pistols was loaded, not only Sid. But still he had a way better voice than John. He couldn't play much bass, but he could hit these notes with his vocals.

@@On_DustI wouldnt say a better singer but for sure a better vocalist. Better tone and higher notes than John. Comparing the 2 is so silly this comparison makes u look dull. No one could do what John did and how.

Everybody rags on Sid for being like..the worst bass player in history for a signed band, but note, Sid was a fast learner. He took some speed and stayed up all night one night and learned a whole Ramones album. The next morning Sid could play. Granted, it was the Ramones, not Rush or Yes, but still, that is very impressive IMHO. He was picking up on the bass very quickly. Paul Cook says he remembers this time fondly as being his favorite period of the band. Then Nancy showed up, got him hooked on heroin and it was all downhill....Sid had gotten so bad they would just turn the volume down on his amp. Very tragic. So much potential wasted. Who knows what the Pistols would have accomplished without Nancy destroying him..

Back in the 1980's I used to see this album in my local record shop every time I went in. I'd pick it up, look at the cover, turn it over, look at the back, turn it back over, look at the front, think 'shall I risk a fiver and buy it', put it back on the shelf and repeat the process every time I went back in.
This is the first time I've ever heard it.
