@@Poppaea-Sabina Eh, let me inform you that every member of the Pistols was loaded, not only Sid. But still he had a way better voice than John. He couldn't play much bass, but he could hit these notes with his vocals.

So many people slag off Sid for being a crap bassist but he was a fantastic singer. Just listen to the studio versions of 'My Way', 'C'mon Everybody' and 'Something Else'. They are superb!
@this page is a sloppy joke to get all profits ... We did a quadruple-album and Sid was definitely a musical influence. It's on bandcamp. No Serial Killer.
Everybody rags on Sid for being like..the worst bass player in history for a signed band, but note, Sid was a fast learner. He took some speed and stayed up all night one night and learned a whole Ramones album. The next morning Sid could play. Granted, it was the Ramones, not Rush or Yes, but still, that is very impressive IMHO. He was picking up on the bass very quickly. Paul Cook says he remembers this time fondly as being his favorite period of the band. Then Nancy showed up, got him hooked on heroin and it was all downhill....Sid had gotten so bad they would just turn the volume down on his amp. Very tragic. So much potential wasted.
