Your content is varied and that's what makes it interesting and fresh. I like the Q&A session as I don't have many people in my circle of friends etc who are into bikes, so it's nice to listen to people who have the same interests. The tours are great too for those of us who can't get out for one reason or another on tours. So keep up the great work and looking forward to more to watch in 2023.
I think your tours are amazing! They give me ideas for our own. I like it all on one channel too, we can pick and choose what we watch can’t we. Thoroughly enjoy all aspects of your content 👍
I’ve been watching your channel for a couple of years, thanks for all you do Andy. I guess like many folk I tend to pick and choose, selecting to watch the vids that are more directly of interest to me, but this sort of Q&A is something that might appeal to most. Really enjoyed it. 👍
At work, i hear your vids, i love it. Sometimes when i can’t watch the videos, i love to hear it. Instead of radio, i love to hear your moto talk. I love the way you talk and how u share so many information with us, i apriciate the video.. but most of all, the audio quality. Cheers and i hope u keep on doing this for ever.
Yes, please continue with the Q&A's. It is interesting to hear what other riders is thinking about. Livestream? Hm, I will probably have to watch it a couple of days later anyway, so for me an edited Q&A is way better. Thank you TMF!!
Hi Andy. I currently have 10 bikes from a 1922 Marston Sunbeam Longstroke through 2 other Sunbeams, a Panther 650, a couple of 60s mopeds a 67 Honda CA77, a CRF250 and an MT10 plus a couple of other bikes and I love them all. However, if I HAD to choose, it would be the mighty MT10. You've ridden one, so you'll know what I mean. I've had mine for nearly 5 years now and the way it goes, the way it handles and the sound of 'that engine', even when I'm not riding it, gives me a huge smile just thinking about it. Like this vid format..
Thanks Andy, I thoroughly enjoyed the recent touring series of videos and it has encouraged me to consider doing a similar trip. Just need to persuade my wife to become a pillion rider.
Sorry I've been neglecting your channel lately, nice to have tuned back in and loved this video. Like your explanation of what makes you tick regarding biking and yes I am similar too. Regarding tyres it took me a long time to accept that I am not at the sharp end of ability but finally realised it is just a matter of finding which tyres I trust at the level of grip I am asking of them, not about beating anybody around the corners
I’m a hobby photographer since I was about eight years old too. Bought my first slr camera when I was thirteen. Most of my photos are macro and landscape images but Hollidays also. I’m an average motorcycle rider too. It’s all about touring and seeing new regions of my and surrounding countries. Belgium is about ten miles from where I live. Love your touring videos.
Really enjoyed this video Andy, thanks for all the content on the channel! Been riding a year next month and your videos inspired me to get on two wheels!
Thanks Andy, another easy to listen to and actually an interesting vlog. Some good questions there and some I may have asked myself! Happy New Year to you and yours, regards to Carole too! It was fun seeing her responses in the last tour - some we did not hear but the reaction from the back seat was obvious!! Brave to go swimming too! Keep it up, Graeme NZ
Thanks Andy. I find you to be the most humble, relatable, self-aware Moto UA-camr on the platform. I love your honest, unfiltered real world videos that aren't overly-polished or biased. Long may your videos continue! Thanks again.
You’re correct! The distance between the wheels needs to be more than 460mm and you can ride it on a car license. My old man has one and loves it. Great channel, enjoy the tour and review videos. Helped me when I first started riding last year and now loving my XSR700 that I bought after your review!
I really enjoyed this, nice one! I reckon it would make a great podcast and so would your biker news section, I do enjoy a good podcast when at work. I also enjoy long videos so if you stitched all your tour videos into films I would love that too. I sort of think that the difference between a trike that can be ridden on a car license and a motorcycle with three wheels is that a car license version doesn't fall over when you leave it, a Nikken will fall over unless its stand is deployed won't it...
Thanks Andy appreciate the shoutout buddy 👍 🙏 Also enjoyed the QA, going to have to rip you off now and do my own version. As you ripped Neevsey off anyway it's all good 😁
You feature in all my videos these days - did you see the sneaky mention in my recent tracker video? Also feel free to rip me off as I love this type of video and would defo watch yours!
Hi Andy. I really enjoyed the format and content of this video. The obvious advantage of it not being live is that you can control the pace of it, and I like how you keep it concise. I’m also a believer in the concept of there being a single bike that does almost everything well. I ride a ktm 1290T (which you once reviewed). It tours, and with a change of tyres, it can go everywhere except soft sand.
As far as small channels like mine doing bike reviews from dealers. My experience is many dealers are not interested in doing test rides even if you're interested in a bike. Honestly the risk of losing your security deposit if you crash a demo just isn't worth the risk. Risk a £1,000 and maybe get £10.00 in ad sense....... nope.
@@oldfella4096 Think it very much depends on the dealership. I certainly hear good reports about BMW ones. Had no joy at my local Yamaha dealer while my Yamaha was in for service. A straight no unless I was definitely interested in buying that model. My local Triumph dealer said a max 30 minutes on a 19K Tiger 1200 I was seriously considering. Years ago my Yam dealer used to offer a demo bike every time I spent my hard earned getting my bike serviced: just not interested now. (I've had 3 new bikes from them in the past) Anyone know a good Triumph or Yamaha dealer in central England? Point me that way
@@Banditmanuk I found Dobles, P&H and Hatfield's both are really good at giving you a demo bike, but I have also had similar issues with other dealers.
Well not being funny but why would they risk you crashing a new bike just so you can make a youtube video on a channel that nobodys ever heard of so won't benefit them in any way 🤷♂️
Further question for the next your questions answered from me would be,on your overseas tours how to you ship your bike gear, helmets boots bike protective gear etc? Really enjoyed this video. As regarding E10 and E5 fuels, personally I’ve found I’m getting more mpg by using super unleaded E5 on my Bandit 1250 as I found my reserve light was coming on earlier on E10,now getting around 200 miles on a tank (20 litres). Ps really enjoy the tours, Keep up the great work Andy.
Nice to see something slightly different on the channel. It's a shame tour vids don't generate the interest as bike reviews. It's definitely a favourite of ours, be it watching or making our own. Just wonder now your channel is successful. Are you most driven to make vids likely to get big views like new bike releases? Or are you more inclined to do more tour vids, which I suspect you may enjoy more?
It’s completely the latter Richard - as I said I do this mostly for fun (it does make me a living but isn’t my only income source) - I’m no longer interested in chasing views and subscribers although clearly I don’t want to make videos that no one watches! Maybe I’ll expand on this in my next YQ&A! Thanks for the question…
Enjoyed this Q&A, in general all your content is well presented and put together and is much appreciated. You have certainly influenced me in making final decisions on some kit and the GT Pro and previously the V--strom 650. keep up the good work.
Hi Andy. Excellent video sir. Really enjoyed the variety of questions. Format seams good to me. I’ll have a think on a question I can ask! Looking forward to watching the next one. 👍
Another great video Andy, as mentioned before I like the tour vids and your GS stuff, it was two years ago I stumbled across your channel as I was about to take delivery of a GS and needed some info… que stumbling across you! Keep up the good work, and as mentioned previously in a comment, see you at the ABR, will be some random dude on a GS…
A good format - I like the more thoughtful way you can answer questions through knowing what they are in advance. Re "just the one bike" I would have to say my Honda NC750x DCT which is a basic but superb all-round machine that I have toured all over France on so far. Very comfortable, supremely economical and (just about) fast enough.
Totally share your sentiment regarding the NC. I owned a DCT version and found it to be the most universally usable bike I have ever owned. It would definitely be my only bike if I was limited to just the one...
Enjoy all your videos, Andy. Tours, reviews, anything. Agree with you about favourite planes. Love the Spitty and Mustang, but always think the Mustang has it for style. Keep up the excellent work. Glenn.
Hi mate. You asked for comments around favourite bike in the shed. Well I don’t have enough of the folding material to enjoy any of the lovely new machines out there like wot you do, but I currently have four bikes, on of which I’ve owned for twenty three years now, it being the mighty Honda X11. I also have a forty three year old Honda CB400T Dream, a Suzuki LS650 Savage (now a bobber) However, my latest bike is a 2002 model Aprilia RST1000 Futura. This one is my ‘go to’ bike. It’s a sport tourer with hard luggage (when required) a stonking V twin motor, Brembo brakes, single side swing arm, handles like it’s on rails (yes I did use that old cliche!) First bike I’ve ever owned in my forty seven years of riding, that has a fairing. Quite the novelty. And so so comfortable on a long run. I rather like the fact that it’s a rare beast too, I wager you’ve never heard of them eh? Another smashing video, and by the way, loved the last classic bike review.
Hey Andy, just to take the opportunity to thank you once more for the latest tour series. Only the last episode to go I think (beats the morning news that's for sure) and I have enjoyed it a lot, really appreciate you and Mrs Flyer lugging all the camera kit and keeping your viewers engaged with the commentary every day. I must admit, I had some additional parts of Alaska and Canada in mind but rather impossible to combine them into a single "contiguous" trip I'd think. I wasn't expecting the large leg in the US but it seemed to be the most enjoyable! Some amazing views and vistas throughout though. As you mention here, replying to literally hundreds of comments is no mean feat, just wanted to show my appreciation. Happy new year mate
Hi and happy new year! I really like that you take comments and interaction with us watchers seriously, having got a couple of written answers myself, so thanks for that. Liking all your videos, I particularly enjoy the tours, so my question is; what are the top three tours you would like to do/plan to do? Any places you want to visit, roads you want to drive or other goals for a tour?
One of the more appealing aspects of your riding videos (tour and review) is your demonstration of sensible, every day riding. Many channels seem a bit too focused on increased speed and "minimizing" crashes. While those demonstrations are instructive and entertaining, for me, it's your opinion and description that carry the day. Thank You! As to questions, I'm really curious how you got on with the lack of cruse control on the Alaska tour GS.
Future Question: Love your channel, real quality stuff look forward to 2023 content. Love the differing content watch all of it. Would you consider in the summer (like biker scran reviews) going to some bike meets and review them. (From food, venue, friendliness etc) Think this would be a great watch. Thanks again for all you do to promote a positive biker image. Much appreciated.
Hi, Good Morning Andy Really enjoyed "Your Questions Answered" - brilliant format and very informative too 👍 Here's one for your pole of 'if you can only have one bike, what would it be?' My answer, is of course the truly awesome Kawasaki H2 SX SE and here's why;- I was lucky enough to have have the updated Z1000SX (new for 2017). I went for the touring pack which just gave all round versatility and I loved it. Although in the real world, 140 bhp is more than enough, but I ride with a bunch of guys who have the likes of ZZR1400's, RSV4's, ZX10R's and BMW S1000RR. Long story cut short, once the Z1000 was paid off, I added a Triumph 1200 RS to the garage. What a machine, it was fantastic but I had a big problem with it. No matter how much I thought I'd just take it out for a 'little potter', it never turned out like that. Within 5 minutes of the ride I was ringing its neck. It just egged me on to go faster and faster. The answer came during a weeks tour of the Peak District. As always the Z1000SX was the perfect campion except for the 'relative lack of power ' and hearing that weekend, my local dealer was running a demo day and the new 2022 H2 SX would be there. The rest as they say was history!!!!! The H2 really does give me everything. I can genuinely potter down the shops on it. Equally, if you want speed the way it makes power is crazy yet turbine smooth. It's all day comfortable, great weather protection. As with my old Z, the panniers just slip on and off ready for touring and don't get me started on the Tech. I'll just say that radar guided cruise control is fantastic, especially on a long days ride. I could bang on about it all day, it really is that good!!!! 😀 As always, keep up the great work Andy and take care All the best Russ
In response to the 'only 1 bike' question, I've got a Kawasaki 650 Versys which I use for commuting, ride outs, 2 up touring and general all round fun! Averages 56mpg, is now 5 years old and 15,000 miles (would be over 20k if COVID hadn't interfered) and still got no desire to replace it!
I enjoyed that TMF. I'd like to see another live stream too, I'll join you (not literally) with a beer on a cold winter night, sounds good to me. All the best for 2023!
I enjoyed the 'Your Questions Answered' video, Andy, and thanks for taking the time to do it. I love the tour videos as well, but I do think breaking them up with bike reviews (or other topics) is the way to go. For the 'one bike' question, I second the GS as a great all-around bike. I love my '21 R1250GSA, and I'm amazed at how well it does everything. Living in the USA Pacific Northwest the GSA's extra range comes in handy when out exploring. The GSA is a bit tall for me being a shorty, but I got used to it, and the only time it is a bit scary is when off-road riding in deep sand or gravel - it can be a handful! For covering the big range of temperatures in North America, I really like the Klim riding kit from Idaho. For Spring, Fall, and Winter its hard to beat the Klim Carlsbad jacket & pants, but its a bit too hot for the long stretches of 100F+ weather we get in the Summer. For Summer a lot of riders swear by the Klim Baja S4 jacket and pants, which I'll be adding to my collection for this Summer. Tour request video: I'd love to watch an Isle of Mann tour video, that perhaps includes the TT. My Grandad was from the Isle of Mann, so I've always wanted to venture there as a pilgrimage of sorts. Thanks always for the great videos, Andy! Cheers!
From my 1966 Honda Cl160 at 17 to my 2014 Honda Valkyrie at age 73, no matter the bike, and there have been many, I always said “I love my bike!!” …. Just being on the road, or dirt, any bike is better than no bike. …. By the way, loved the tour, loved the vintage bikes, and appreciate your professionalism and good character … “crack on!” my friend. Best wished to Mrs. Flyer 👍
HI Andy enjoyed the Q & A another good video for you’re channel great to watch sat in the office at work, looking forward to what tour you will be doing soon. GS GSA for 9 years loved the bmw 4 trips to bmw offroad lots of European tours trouble free then i had a test ride on the new KTM 1290 Sas and loved it 5,000 miles later still love it cant wait for this years European tour, nice to have a change of a different brand.
Great video as always! TMF is definitely one of my “go to” channels for moto videos. You are so very matter of fact and relatable. Not to mention that, for us Yankees, British accents sound so authoritative! As the owner of a KTM 890, I have a slightly different take on their electronic options demo period (I bought mine before this was implemented). Setting aside the issue of paying for something that is already part of the bike, I don’t see it as a bad thing. It lets buyers have a free test ride of those features. I didn’t have that option. I had to take them or leave them blind. Also, KTM spent money developing those features and is on the hook for them from both liability and warranty standpoints. Those costs must be recovered. I don’t hear anyone complaining about paying for other downloaded software. It doesn’t cost Microsoft anything for me to download Word but I still have to pay for it. It is an unusual way to go and it may prove to be a poor marketing decision, but there is logic to it.
@@TheMissendenFlyer Personally, I believe that the premier mid-weight adventure bike who’s advertising tag is ‘Ready to Race’ should have those features as standard. Just price them in and be done with it. They’re selling every one they make, many with added dealer markup. I can’t imagine they’d sell even one fewer and they wouldn’t have this PR mess on their hands.
I have my dream bike a 2022 kawasaki ninja 1000sx tourer, for me it does every thing I want, long distance in comfort, put luggage on and tour, plenty power for fast road riding and affordable to run, not to heavy for me to move about. I tend to own one bike at a time and keep them for a long time, previous bike was a yamaha 2005 600 fazer I had for 17 years. I did think of keeping this bike as well but had to be honest as much as I liked it, it would not have been used enough. Safe riding
On the one bike question... I have a Triumph Tiger Explorer XCA, Gen 2, 2016. I've had it from new and I won't change it anytime soon - as it does everything I ask it to effortlessly and I don't owe any money on it. I was never a fan of the GS but did test ride one 6 months ago and.... my next bike, when that time comes, will probably be a GS.
I was not going to watch this content as I thought it might be a little boring.... how wrong was I.. Thoroughly enjoyed the questions and the way you answered them, also you kept it short and concise which most Q&A I have seen go on and on. Well Done Andy!!! 🙂
Love the bike Tours,Biker Scran’s, Bike News - well all of it really - kept it coming Andy 👏 Maybe a question for your next YQA - what % of your time is actually riding/reviewing the bikes, compared to the planning, editing, filming etc? Just so we can appreciate how much effort you put in 👍
Morning Andy, the Q&A is a really good idea. It’s nice finding out a bit more about your background, how things work, UA-cam, how you got into it. For some reason I thought you would have been a passenger jet pilot in a previous life, so it was a surprise to learn you were/are in IT. All the best.
@@TheMissendenFlyer you've managed to achieve what very few of us get to do, get paid for what you love doing. I'm at that point now, time for a change. 👍
I have seven bikes in my garage and if I had to pick one it would also be the GS, in my case, a GS Adventure. All the bikes in the Garage in order of purchase are a 2002 Honda VFR800, 2007 Kymco Xciting 250, 2020 Harley-Davidson Deluxe, 2021 Goldwing Tour DCT, 2021 BMWR1250GS Adventure, 2021 KTM 890 Adventure R, 2022 Honda CRF450RL. The CRF450RL was a replacement for a 2022 KTM 500EXC-F that was stolen 8 days after I purchased it.
Many thanks for an enjoyable listen. I did like the old livestream format, I was slightly lazy as I listened to them as a podcast rather than participating with my own questions. Looking forward to the next tour.
Great Q&A session there Andy and thanks for reading out my question - which had an interesting answer. The thing I like about your channel (which I’ve been following for a few years now) is the variety. Rather than just doing bike reviews all the time, like many YT’ers out there, you also do tours 👍, monthly bike news 👍, the biker scran 👍, occasional product reviews 👍, flying tours (me being a plane nut) 👍and now a Q&A session 👍. Please keep them all going - it makes your channel stand out from the many others. Remember, If some followers don’t like a certain part of your channel, nobody is forcing them to watch it. Keep up the good work, even if it can be a bit time consuming at times with all the editing, etc.
Thank you very much for the feedback - I'll keep the variety going as I mainly do this for fun and it's no fun just churning out new bike reviews believe me!! I'll leave that to the others to enjoy.....
Loved this vid, Andy. Really good to get some insight into the channel. Personally, I’d definitely be interested in more of these. Also, I’d be really keen to get more info on the ‘tech’ aspects of the channel - cameras, lighting and, particularly, capture/edit software, how long it takes to shoot and edit a bike review, that kind of thing. Great work, sir!
Great vid TMF. Personally I love your tours. Great to watch and get some ideas from. The Alaska tour was epic and Norway is always drawing me to it. Maybe those not keen on tours are the more hardcore bikers ? The other thing is, who couldn’t like Jeff and Dan !! To quote you ‘Outrageous’ ! 😀
Hello Andy first Q&A I have watched and really enjoyed it. I guess the key is selecting the questions which the majority are interested in which I thought you did, well done. Regarding the question what one bike would you have. I have owned all sorts of bikes during my 36 years of riding. I actually opted for the 2021 Honda Goldwing Bagger. I like a big bike for the presence, comfort ( low foot pegs) smoothness and DCT which is the main reason. I don’t find moving the bike around an issue as the weight is low down and easier to move around than a Pan 1300 I owned once, the reverse gear is so good. The only real disadvantage is filtering. I have a colour coded top box which the wife and I toured wales on. But I can remove it and the bike looks like a large sports tourer. Without the top box it reduces the weight and improves the centre of gravity which makes the bike lots of fun on the twisties especially in sports mode. If it was a car it would be the top of the range sports Bentley. I did test drive the K1600, which I actually preferred the suspension and breaks but the GW DCT it the better smoother package with Honda reliability. It will be interesting to listen to your up and coming view. All the best Matt 👍🏻
Love the new question and answers segment. Two questions for your Q&A you may like to answer. The story/nightmare video you did regarding the custom Royal Enfield Interceptor, would you ever do a custom bike again after that experience?? If you could have any bike ever produced what would it be if you haven't already got it??
Andy, I genuinely enjoyed this format with the Q&A. I am not a fan of the live-stream event type, however. It often feels too long and a bit chaotic. Great video's all around. I found your channel about a year back and thoroughly enjoy each iteration.
I bought a Suzuki GSX250R after watching your review video, so far it has been an amazing bike, and just like you said, it’s very comfortable and super smooth. Thank you for what you’re doing….Top Man 👌🏻👍🏻
@@TheMissendenFlyer could you or would you be able to look into doing, a review of the Kawasaki Ninja 400? It’s a bike I’ve had my eye on for a while, and the reviews I’ve watched on it so far, just don’t stack up to the depth you go into with things, and they just don’t feel genuine.
Enjoyed that. 😊. My do it all bike would be my BMW 850GSA. Does everything brilliantly. I know you weren’t too blown away in your review and I get lots of people saying “why didn’t you get the 1250?” My answer is always the same… “why didn’t you get the 850?” 😝
The 850 is a great bike just felt heavier than the 1250 to me due it's weight distribution....a big part of the GS' appeal for me is it's low centre of gravity and hence ease to move around....
Good evening Andy! (It is here -8hrs) What a nice surprise to see your new video and it's a Q&A. I have a few bits and bobs to pen your way so I'll begin. I've noticed that UA-cam has changed everyone's ID to their "UA-cam" persona and away from their old name version recently so that may be where all the numbers are coming from in your respondents names. I've often toyed with starting a channel myself but...small problem, I have no bike. (meh, always problems eh?) Been bikeless since selling my Buell XB-12R in 2008! Then moving to America and work,..yadda yadda 10 years goes by and FINALLY convinced the wife that a bike would be a great idea and she says YES! THEN...and I don't want to bring down the good vibe, but let's just say that one of my eyes decided to go faulty and get cancer and I had to go through an operation and radiotherapy and bang goes the bike cash! Still got the eye and most of my vision, so double plus good. I WILL get one one day though, just gotta figure out a budget. But I will ride a bike coast to coast one day! Very jealous that you got to meet one of my heroes (there are so few "real" ones) Capt. Eric Winkle Brown! I say hello to his statue every time I use Edinburgh Airport when I go home to visit. Thoroughly enjoyed the Tour videos, but I can see why people would miss the bike reviews that you are so good at. One of the MANY reasons I watch your videos is because I reckon you are a very similar age, height, build (sense of humour?) to me! So, if a bike fits you, then by that merit, it should me. Keep up the excellent work and I look forward to the next video. All the best, Alan Duncan.
Thank you Alan - Really pleased you are enjoying my efforts and always good to hear from you! Sorry to hear about the cancer and hope things are going OK on that front. Yes I had the pleasure of meeting Captain Brown on a couple of occasions - a true hero of mine, fabulous fella.....
Just watched your new series nearly nodded off. So it works on that level. From what I remember of it, it was very entertaining. Thanks for your efforts throughout the year and look forward to many more videos in 2023. He's one for the next one. How many times have you fell off and what did you learn when you did ? Nick Holmes you can forget get the numbers 🙂👍
Great new type of video Andy, I really enjoyed it (as I do all of your videos). I have an idea for a question in the next video; Would you be able to provide some details on preparing for a bike trip to Europe as I believe things may have changed since we left the EU, e.g. do you need a carnet for the bike? do you need to do anything different regarding insurance? what items do you need to carry on the bike? is a GB plate still OK? etc, etc. You've obviously done this recently on the Wing and your insight would be most useful to me and probably many others too (I'm actually going to ride through France and Italy in June). Many thanks and keep up the great work.
Hi Andy, The Alaska tour was brilliant, but did miss the other videos during that. The QA was great as well. I'll have to think of a good question for the next one. Happy new year by the way.
I really enjoyed the Q & A , it was very different and interesting as well. You are my top five favourite people, so not let go to your head. The reason why is because you like SLR cameras. I am big fan of camera and had different one’s in my life. However SLR cameras was one camera I never had until now and now two a Nikon F-601 AF and Canon EOS 500 both 1990s cameras. Well question would you every go back to doing meet the blog /Vlog has some bikes like username Katie and Mark Pulling to name a few. Have meet any of these people? Great video Mr Flyer.
Yes I did go and say Hello to Kate once at a bike show - think she thought I was some sort of lunatic....don't think she had a clue I was another You Tuber....not met Mark but I do like his no nonsense videos...
Really enjoyed this style of video, as you said at the beginning it’s a bit podcast-y. I just listened to it while doing the odd chore around the house. You mentioned not doing another channel for tours due to upkeep amongst other reasons - all which makes sense. Wondered though if you thought about doing any podcast related content? Like Freddie Dobbs and Motobob on occasion. I really enjoy bike news, general chat and opinions from what I consider you amongst a few others as ‘gods of the uk biketube scene’. So a podcast format of some of your shows, with you as a host and even the odd guests would be great for the commute. Even if like Revzilla who outputs their podcast as a video and then submitted as a podcast. More effort I guess, but didn’t know if there’s benefit monetary, sponsorship or just enjoyment as rewards of putting out a podcast. Anyway keep up all the good work sir 👍🏻
The Alaska/BC/USA NW tour was good mate. I’ve now executed a PoC on my Tiger800XCX off-road, near enduro riding and it does it all well. You know it’s great on long rides, twisties, ridden 2-up with full gear - great all rounder and that triple growl. Loving it.
Thanks Andy, an excellent idea to release this as a 'podcast'. I do a lot of driving and dog walking - it was refreshing to pop the earbuds in and listen to you! Keep 'em coming 👍
Watched you now for a couple of years and you are my go to chanel when thinking about a bike change. I really enjoy the tour video's, love the interaction with your Mrs and friends. Also great to see some fantastic places, which also gives me ideas for my own adventures . I watched all of your last tour which was great. Only criticism and it's definitely not your fault, it did seem a bit ground hog day. I suppose that because of the vastness of the place.
I really enjoyed your Alaska to Oregon series Andy. I personally didn’t find it long, but of course that’s a matter of personal preference. As to my favourite bike, it’s my Africa Twin, for the same reasons yours is the GS. The AT does it all, except 2up comfortably The GS is outside my budget though, but the AT is a dependable ride, and very off-road capable under the right rider. I enjoy your channel. 🇨🇦
If I only had one bike…and I do only have one bike! It’s the Ducati MultiStrada 1260s. Now with 57000 miles and going as well as it did when new. Incredibly capable, fast, handles like a sportsbike and brilliant when touring. I’ve done a bit of mild green laning with friends who have Africa Twins etc. Admittedly this is not its strongest environment but it is possible for the odd occasion when needed.
I certainly agree with you Andy regarding subscriptions to use certain things, that in my opinion you have already paid for, I would not enterain a manufacturer who would try to rip customers off like that
Many thanks for all the videos you produce, Andy. Personally, I love your tours and the Breakfasts with Geoff and Dan. Especially when you turn up and it's closed😉 My good friend Ian and I took part in a BMW owners club challenge of finding various locations in Wales last winter. One of them was a twelfth century Drovers Inn. We were a bit peckish and decided to get some food when we arrived, but despite the directions and satnav could not find it. Eventually, I spotted an overgrown sign saying the ruins in the field behind it were the remains of the Inn, which had closed in the eighteenth century. We laughed so much I nearly dropped my bike😊
Hi Andy. Loved the vid, however just a little note, at 17.30 mins, you had a itch you needed to scratch....lol. Don't forget we can all see what you are doing 😉 My one bike would be a Honda NC750X this is price thing too. And there's more, I would love you to do a proper classic bike vid of the Hoonda goldwing 1500. I had one these for 30 years & 80000 miles. Would great the hear your views of old & new. And lastly stop slagging of trailers, have been an afid camper, with kids and all that goes with it, you can carry so much kit. Yes in the latter years I had a Flexit sidecar. Which was so cool. Check it out Sidebar here. If I still had. I'd be pestering you to do piece on it. Mrs fly would have loved it!
@@TheMissendenFlyer Well Andy, you see thats what I mean, Have you ever used)Towed a trailer behind a bike, They are a great way of taking all the stuff you would ever need and make the bike so much more easily to handle.
I love your touring eps, it's the thing that got me hooked (your first trips out to Scotland\ Lake District)- these actually got me back on the bike (thank you) and I have toured to the same destinations based on your vids. Next I like your classic reviews (bit of nostalgia for me). Ancillary reviews I like, and I even go to recommended eats places on occasion. Current bike reviews are what 1000 other channels will be doing, so nice to have, but not essential for me personally. In summary I think you provide a huge amount of practical advice.
Thoroughly enjoyed this new format! Appreciated the dry wit of reading out the comments exactly as written, I will have to mind my grammar and punctuation if I ever post a question, just in case! All your content is top notch, yes including the biker scran! I guess reviews will always “do better” in numbers, because people will search for those and be suggested on the YT homepage, but stuff like this, the news, biker scran, are more for the long term subscribers. You said think of it as a podcast, perhaps you could also release the audio as just a podcast, though I recognise you said about the overheads of a YT channel.
Yes I'm tempted - I need to find out what's involved - I hear it's easy enough - that said I'm not sure "what's in it for me" over doing it as a YT video like this??? Hate to sound mercenary but it all takes time....
One for your Q&A! (No numbers in my username!) I like the biker scrans, less so the tour vids! My question for you is: riding bikes does have a relatively high accident rate. It's supposed to be similar to flying in that respect, but I always feel that if I had an accident in an aeroplane chances are it'd be because I did something wrong or stupid. On a bike, you can very easily suffer at the hands of other road users. What are your views on the risks of biking?
Morning TMF! Good idea! One reason I love your channel is you really listen to your viewers. Much appreciated!
Morning Simon - well some of them!! 🤓
The man actually reads the comments and has the couth to provide a thoughtful reply in a timely fashion.
Great! Delighted to hear that!
I think your tours are amazing! They give me ideas for our own. I like it all on one channel too, we can pick and choose what we watch can’t we. Thoroughly enjoy all aspects of your content 👍
Thank you!
Had this playing in the background while at work today... Nice to have something interesting to listen to while stuck in the office 🙂
Cool!
I’ve been watching your channel for a couple of years, thanks for all you do Andy. I guess like many folk I tend to pick and choose, selecting to watch the vids that are more directly of interest to me, but this sort of Q&A is something that might appeal to most. Really enjoyed it. 👍
Thanks for that - glad to hear it too as I like making these.....
Glad you like them! ….and I’ll do them for as long as I’m able!!
Excellent first Q&A episode - look forward to future videos and asking a question or two.
Thanks for watching!
My 'one bike' is a 1991 BMW R80 (slight) custom. Enough performance, super reliable and super quick & easy to maintain.
Yes, please continue with the Q&A's. It is interesting to hear what other riders is thinking about. Livestream? Hm, I will probably have to watch it a couple of days later anyway, so for me an edited Q&A is way better. Thank you TMF!!
Got it!
Thanks for that Richard - I love the MT10 too (video on the new one coming soon!) - glad you enjoyed the video!
Thanks Andy, I thoroughly enjoyed the recent touring series of videos and it has encouraged me to consider doing a similar trip. Just need to persuade my wife to become a pillion rider.
Ab sooooolutely!
Welcome back!
Goldwing DCT. EXCELLENT for the riding I do and it pulls my pop-up camper without challenge.
You are kidding me?
Really enjoyed this format and would love to see it as a regular item especially during the winter months👍
Works for me Martyn - dead easy to make and fun to do too!
Really enjoyed this video Andy, thanks for all the content on the channel! Been riding a year next month and your videos inspired me to get on two wheels!
Fantastic to hear! Happy biking birthday!
Glad you enjoyed it Grae!
Thanks and a happy new year to you and all!
Happy new year and thanks for the tip!
Thanks Andy. I find you to be the most humble, relatable, self-aware Moto UA-camr on the platform. I love your honest, unfiltered real world videos that aren't overly-polished or biased.
Long may your videos continue! Thanks again.
Crikey - thank you very much!! …to be fair my head looked a bit polished in this video…
@@TheMissendenFlyer Oh and the Dad jokes are also a real plus!
Dad Jokes!? What dad jokes - that's quality humour that is!!!
@@TheMissendenFlyer You have an endearing, classic sense of humour is what I meant ☺️
@@TheMissendenFlyer I agree; I found myself thinking "was he always this bald?"😂
You’re correct! The distance between the wheels needs to be more than 460mm and you can ride it on a car license. My old man has one and loves it. Great channel, enjoy the tour and review videos. Helped me when I first started riding last year and now loving my XSR700 that I bought after your review!
Nice one Greg!
Just made a comment on this, (podcast wise) didn’t see this first but I defo agree 👌🏻
Thanks for that - this format defo works for me, no stress (like a livestream) and even better, no editing!! Happy days....
Really enjoyed this segment, thank you for taking the time to put it together!
My pleasure!
As far as small channels like mine doing bike reviews from dealers. My experience is many dealers are not interested in doing test rides even if you're interested in a bike. Honestly the risk of losing your security deposit if you crash a demo just isn't worth the risk. Risk a £1,000 and maybe get £10.00 in ad sense....... nope.
Well there is that - depends how big a risk you deem it I guess!
Well not being funny but why would they risk you crashing a new bike just so you can make a youtube video on a channel that nobodys ever heard of so won't benefit them in any way 🤷♂️
@@gunnyhighway4422 everyone has to start somewhere, and you need content to get exposure to then get heard about.
Ps really enjoy the tours,
Keep up the great work Andy.
Good questions! Stay tuned....
Thank you very much - glad you enjoyed it!
See you there - should be easy to spot you!
Glad you liked it - I have a video coming up of me riding the NC750 in the Canaries soon, great bike….
Totally share your sentiment regarding the NC. I owned a DCT version and found it to be the most universally usable bike I have ever owned. It would definitely be my only bike if I was limited to just the one...
Another great video, thank you.
I'm interested in learning which cars you drive/love/own. 🏍️🚗
Maybe one day I'll make a video about them!
Enjoy all your videos, Andy. Tours, reviews, anything. Agree with you about favourite planes. Love the Spitty and Mustang, but always think the Mustang has it for style.
Keep up the excellent work. Glenn.
Thanks, will do!
Thanks for the kind words and you're right - never heard of any of them!!....will get googling....
@@TheMissendenFlyer The X11 is the naked version of the Super Blackbird you tested a while ago. Faster quarter mile, reduced top speed.
So glad you’ve enjoyed the series Andrew - Happy New Year to you too!
Great question! Added to the list....
Brilliant format. I can listen while I am working. Podcast style! Thanks Andy.
My pleasure....
Great video liked this format, also enjoying the Alaska videos. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, will do!
Thank you for the kind words - I'll tell you in a future YQ&A - stay tuned!
Future Question:
Love your channel, real quality stuff look forward to 2023 content.
Love the differing content watch all of it. Would you consider in the summer (like biker scran reviews) going to some bike meets and review them. (From food, venue, friendliness etc)
Think this would be a great watch.
Thanks again for all you do to promote a positive biker image. Much appreciated.
My pleasure matt - question noted!
Love this format, like all the other parts of your channel.
Hi, Good Morning Andy
Really enjoyed "Your Questions Answered" - brilliant format and very informative too 👍
Here's one for your pole of 'if you can only have one bike, what would it be?'
My answer, is of course the truly awesome Kawasaki H2 SX SE and here's why;-
I was lucky enough to have have the updated Z1000SX (new for 2017).
As always, keep up the great work Andy and take care
All the best
Russ
Great when you find the right bike for you - sounds like a keeper!
I love your tours. They are never to long you always pick the best scenery in the world. I always look forward to your next trip.
Wow - thank you...
Cheers!
Cheers Jeff and thanks for the feedback and suggestion!
Flyer 👍
Thank you!
Sound good Steve! Thanks for dropping by…
Great video as always!
Yes I get that - still don't like it though!
Oh yes. I really, really enjoy your tour videos. I much prefer the solo vids over the group vids but you take what you can get.
Glad you like them - and yes, must try and get some solo trips in this year!
Good call....
Always enjoy your video's and the the new Q and A is great........ Q: What is your favourite road you have ever ridden, both home and abroad?
I was not going to watch this content as I thought it might be a little boring.... how wrong was I.. Thoroughly enjoyed the questions and the way you answered them, also you kept it short and concise which most Q&A I have seen go on and on. Well Done Andy!!! 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it Nigel!
Love the bike Tours,Biker Scran’s, Bike News - well all of it really - kept it coming Andy 👏
Maybe a question for your next YQA - what % of your time is actually riding/reviewing the bikes, compared to the planning, editing, filming etc? Just so we can appreciate how much effort you put in 👍
Now that is a good question...on the list!
I have only one bike and it's a Honda CRF250L. Love it. Versatile, reliable and inexpensive!
Yes I miss mine!
Hey Andy, love this idea! Enjoyed this vlog greatly :) hope to see you at some point this year! :)
You going to the ABR festival?
Morning Andy, the Q&A is a really good idea. It’s nice finding out a bit more about your background, how things work, UA-cam, how you got into it. For some reason I thought you would have been a passenger jet pilot in a previous life, so it was a surprise to learn you were/are in IT. All the best.
Very much were in IT - sooo glad to see the back of it....incredibly this had been my more than full-time pastime for 5 years now!
Nice collection - and glad we concur on the GS....
Nice new series, really enjoyed it. Hope it goes well. Bring back the livestream, always a good laugh.
Thanks! Will do!
Love the tour videos! It's a nice mix with the news and reviews. Keep up the great work!
Thanks! Will do!
Thank you - glad you enjoyed it!
You’re leaning on an open door here!
I loved the tour Andy! I thought it was brilliant and I hope to see more in the future! Happy new year to you and yours as well.
Glad you enjoyed it - another tour coing soon!
Great questions! On the list....
Great segment. Love to hear your thoughts on everything motorcycle!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent feature Andy, looking forward to the next Q&A video. I also enjoy the Biker Scran videos, have missed the chip mountains.
You'll enjoy tomorrow's video then!
Andy, I genuinely enjoyed this format with the Q&A. I am not a fan of the live-stream event type, however. It often feels too long and a bit chaotic.
Great video's all around. I found your channel about a year back and thoroughly enjoy each iteration.
Welcome along David - what kept you!?
I bought a Suzuki GSX250R after watching your review video, so far it has been an amazing bike, and just like you said, it’s very comfortable and super smooth.
Thank you for what you’re doing….Top Man 👌🏻👍🏻
Great to hear!
FYI I loved the tour and looked forward to every new video as they came out! Keep up the great work!
Thank you! Will do!
Enjoyed this "questions answered "Video. I enjoyed this better than Q&A. As always, great presentation as with all your contents. THANK YOU.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I like your vids.. i fly, ride and ski too.. it feels like I can relate to you in a strange way haha!
Looking forward to the 2023 content !
You sound like an excellent fellow!
THEN...and I don't want to bring down the good vibe, but let's just say
that one of my eyes decided to go faulty and get cancer and I had to go through an operation and radiotherapy and bang goes the bike cash!
Super new format Andy. Throughly enjoyed the variety of questions (& answers) 😀
Glad you enjoyed it
Just watched your new series nearly nodded off.
Added to the list!
Great format TMF. Q&A's are always an interesting watch. All the best for the new year.
Much appreciated - thank you!
Excellent Andy. Do it again please. Live stream good idea. Throughly enjoyed the USA trip. Thanks for the channel. Happy New Year.
It would be just for fun if I did it - and it would be basically the same as this but minus my fizogg.....
Haha, makes sense to keep it as UA-cam for now I guess. But I did enjoy, so either more of this, or plus guests would be good listening.
The Alaska/BC/USA NW tour was good mate. I’ve now executed a PoC on my Tiger800XCX off-road, near enduro riding and it does it all well. You know it’s great on long rides, twisties, ridden 2-up with full gear - great all rounder and that triple growl. Loving it.
Nice one!
Thanks Andy, an excellent idea to release this as a 'podcast'. I do a lot of driving and dog walking - it was refreshing to pop the earbuds in and listen to you! Keep 'em coming 👍
Glad you enjoyed it and glad you were able to listen like a podcast!
Thank you for watching and for stopping by - I'm delighted you enjoy my efforts!
Thanks Anthony - the AT is a great bike, I just find it a bit too tall and too heavy for me to manage….
I certainly agree with you Andy regarding subscriptions to use certain things, that in my opinion you have already paid for, I would not enterain a manufacturer who would try to rip customers off like that
Hi. Sold my 2014 street triple r. And my crf250m and bought a 2018 triumph tiger 800 xrt . And I love it
Many thanks for all the videos you produce, Andy.
Great story!
Hi Andy. Loved the vid, however just a little note, at 17.30 mins, you had a itch you needed to scratch....lol. Don't forget we can all see what you are doing 😉
My one bike would be a Honda NC750X this is price thing too.
Check it out
Sidebar here. If I still had. I'd be pestering you to do piece on it. Mrs fly would have loved it!
I’ve nothing against trailers per Se - just when they’re attached to bikes….
Great feedback - thanks for that!
I like the tour videos as much or more than reviews. I can travel vicariously with on trips unlikely I could do myself.
Glad you like them!
Great question - one for the next vid!
Thanks, I like this format. More, please.
More to come!
Left you rambling when preparing my food...It was a toss up between you or LBC..😉 No Q"s from me atm ...but a thumbs up from me...Ride Safe 👍🏍
Wow I beat LBC - nice one!
