Like literally in the midst of punishing some1 the police would advice the same person to come around & bite me like a dog!

And how do you overcome the feeling of emptiness before and after abandonment?
Volunteering and getting into social clubs to participate in activities where you feel you can contribute, feel needed and from which your sense of value and feeling needed or worthy comes from might be one way.
