    I use my Hitachi the other day for the first time and the first and only thing I had to complane about was the miter gauge. I thought it was just a little too loose in the guide. I found nothing wrong with the blade, I cut some walnut with it and it cut fine. Yes, there are much better blade but for a starter blade it worked just fine.I am 64 years old and I had not trouble getting into the back of my truck, just roll it to the gate, lean it and lift. It only take a few sec. just use your brain and not your back and you will still have one when you get my age. With all that said I like this saw very much.

    I just picked this saw up in like new condition with a cross cut sled, zero clearance insert, and a brand new Freud 80 tooth blade off of Facebook for 250$. No way I could pass that up. Can't wait to play with it tomorrow at work. Btw anyone wanna buy a lightly used Ryobi table saw? Lol

    Love mine except for the distance of the left mitre slot from the saw blade....it's about 7.6 inches. It makes it hard to use a feather board or even find one that can get close enough to the blade to properly use one. Typically should be about 5.5 in. Good review Thank u

      I just had my saw have the switch fail just out of two year warantee period. Called Hitachi and the CS Rep said I could take it to a service center and they would still honor the warantee work as it is a known issue. They also offered to send me the part and I could install myself. The rep said they would send out a diagram and he walked through how to install over the phone. It sounds pretty easy. I opted to have them send me the part free of charge.

    Bought one. 8 months later, proved to be junk for a Job site saw.
    The breaker trips constantly, so it takes forever to rip 2x materials
    Underpowered next to the dewalt
    The fence is cool, but it’s not as precision as dewalt (the saw I before)
    It is lighter than the dewalt, and the and adjust knob is awesome
    In the end, I gave it to my dad, and he loves it for a home saw

    Why do you suppose it is that the Dewalt has a much smoother fence movement system? I noticed the same thing on the big Skil Saw, the fence seems much more rougher then on the Dewalt. I'd much rather the Skil or this saw but that smooth operating fence is a big selling point. Makes it hard to decide and I want to purchase one ASAP.

    Based on all the pictures I see of this saw, it appears you put the stand handle on the wrong side. I believe it goes on the left and the handle acts as support to large stock on the left side.

    Hello,
    Why do the miter gauge slots have their top edges beveled?
    It seems it is not possible to remove miter guage play using nylon expansion discs due to the beveled edge.
    Is there any good quality miter guage that can work effectively with the beveled slots?

    I bought the Metabo version of this Hitachi, pretty much based on the results of this video, and a few other videos showing very high reviews and recommendations. Metabo bought Hitachi, so it's the exact same saw with a different label on it. Having said that, I have noticed something that I cannot seem to figure out with this saw. The riving knife seems to be permanently affixed and cannot be removed or replaced, which presents a few problems. If I want to use a thinner blade, the wood won't pass the riving knife without binding, which obviously is dangerous. Also, if I want to use certain table saw jigs that require the riving knife to be removed, again.....I am unable to do so. Is there a way to resolve this???

    • @infiniti2015
      @infiniti2015 4 роки тому +4

      It's held in by one screw you can access from the bottom right side of the saw by removing a dust panel/shield. It's a pain to do. I eventually cut a slot in the bottom of the riving knife so I could slip it on and off without going through that entire process. There is a spring that simply needs to be pushed in with a flat head to get it back it.
