    100% agree with your review. I’ve been enjoying the Pantera’s for many years now. It’s one of my favorite model lines and is a criminally underrated, under-hyped and under-marketed trenching machine. Cheers!

    The camber in my late 90’s Nitro still has plenty of spring! It has become my rock-board by now but the point is Nitro makes a high quality deck.

      The alchemist is a lot less locked in on edge. And way better in powder. As far as charging and hammering through crud, they’re pretty similar.

    Thanks really. My snowboarding life is cambered Nitros. First crazy Naturals 159 of '99, then the board of my life Supernaturals 163, still rocking even damaged, then Torque 164 the beast, Slash 171 s shape, a magic carpet in powder, an used Shogun 169 now feeling a bit hard aging, but all still with me (except Naturals).
    I want the Pantera, I need the prigressive sidecut and the full camber.
    In my 57 I was dreaming abou it but at 90kg, 198 lbs specs tell not 163 (65-85), maybe 166 wide, but I wear US9 boots... Even if for lay down carve width is precious...
    So should I go for the 166 Wide?
    Last thing it seems a bit grey, not black...
    Btw, tried Stranda Shorty 169 with big rockered tip flapping in the tracks, I don't like this trend; apart from the rocky Torque if you apply pressure in powder also a cambered board slightly flexes up and creates a rocker...
    I also use a nice Furberg Freeride 165, rocker-camber-rocker, great passing from tracks to powder, but carving it doesn't give me the emotions of a cambered and progressive shape...

    Hello, nice review 👍
    A question on widths. I watched your review of the Amplid Surfari 161, you wished for a bit more width, maybe 1 cm. The Surfari is 264 wide.
    During this review you said the width on this 160 Pantera was plenty of board for you, even though you might prefer the wider version.
    The 2024 160 Pantera is 255 wide, almost one cm narrower than the 161 Surfari. Maybe the 2025 Pantera is wider as you alluded to?
    Size 10.5 boot, would you go the wide Pantera?

    • @Drift-Products
      @Drift-Products  6 місяців тому +1

      Good catch. The 2025 Pantera 160 is a little wider than the 2024 but it's still pretty narrow. It's too narrow for me to get very deep on the carves. Basically, 25.5 is kind of my absolute bottom for how narrow I'm willing to ride but I'd much rather be in the 26.5-27.5 zone depending on the board. If a board is focused on carving or powder, I'd like it to be around 27.5-28.5. But I ride a lot of boards that are narrower than that because that's what is out there.
      I think with a 10.5 you get to choose based on your preference. If you want the board a little quicker edge to edge, stay with the normal width. If you want to really lay down some deep carves, maybe go with the wide. 10.5 is kind of right at that border. if I get the new Pantera, I'd for sure go wide with my 11.5s.

    • @doughboypow
      @doughboypow 6 місяців тому +1

      @Drift-Products thanks for such a comprehensive response. I'm after a carver and laying it over will be its job, so even at 10.5 I'd go wide. I ride an Amplid Dada a lot at 275 waist and the width is fine for me

    How does it compare to nitro team/ nitro team pro? I'm considering transitioning from nitro team to this one, because nitro team gets kinda unstable at high speed carving, is it worth the upgrade?

    • @Drift-Products
      @Drift-Products  7 днів тому +1

      The team and team pro are more all-mountain freestyle, maybe a little more versatile if you want to be doing tricks and hitting the park. This has way more camber, a bit stiffer and pretty focused on carving and charging hard. If go hard and aren't worried about the park as much, the Pantera is rad.

    • @rauliuxaa
      @rauliuxaa 7 днів тому

      @@Drift-Products I don't really do park, only into carving and maybe some pow from time to time.

    Hi, thanks for the great content! Been watching all your reviews.. I'm looking for an advanced carving board to ride posi posi (+45 +12) with no boot out (size 9) on the steepest turns, literally no overhang, so really wide boards only.. I'm really looking for the dampest board cause I hate getting chatter in the edges when I'm at high angles, which I do get with my old tranny finder 57 on super hard snow.. Do you have any recommendations? I've narrowed it down to either Cheater 170w, A frame 170w, Pantera 166w, new tranny finder 160 (is it damper then the old one?), or some Never summer DF series.. would you have recommendations? Even outside of these.. thank you soo much for your insight!

    • @Drift-Products
      @Drift-Products  7 місяців тому +1

      Honestly I don't feel very qualified to recommend a board for that purpose, it's not really my jam. But the Pantera would probably be pretty sweet. If it's wide enough for you, the Freecarver 9000 is very impressive. I don't think the new Tranny Finder will make you feel any different.

      I don’t think the 2025 has much going for it that’s notably better than the 2024. As for the custom x comparison, unfortunately I haven’t ridden that yet. My guess is it’s a pretty similar ride, maybe not quite as much camber.

      Angry reccomended the 166w, I ride a 165w flagship as well and love the stability of that board. How did this compare to the alchemist?

    • @Drift-Products
      @Drift-Products  5 місяців тому

      @@evanjohnson1740 I would just say that because of the camber the Pantera rides a lot longer than the flagship which had a ton of rocker, especially in the nose. So just be prepared for that. Look at the running length and not just the overall length. Alchemist is pretty different honestly. Not as much camber but still very stiff. Less damp than the Pantera. The alchemist has a more modern direction feel while the Pantera reminded me of classic all mountain boards.
