@@fashionforwardmom I think he wanted it to be last because he was paying for his child to the mother of the child who didn't have the child and she wasn't paying nothing to anyone when and just taking money that was supposed to be for the child and doing whatever she wanted with it he wanted it to be where they both have to pay and it be paid to the person who's taking care of the child so he would be paying less than what he was because he's not the only one paying now I may be less than her but that could be because of how much he makes compared to her

Child support is for the child’s EVERY DAY LIVING you know things like food, power, water, shoes, clothes you know ALL the things that the parent has ALREADY PAID FOR. Child support goes where it is needed

When I joined the Army, I paid child support whenever my son wasn't with me...While in basic training, I paid child support to my Auntie. If someone else is providing food, shelter, transportation, entertainment, clothes, School field trips and science projects, etc., for your child/children, then that parent SHOULD handle that monetary arrangement off top.

I'm a single father to my non biological son. I've been taking care of him for the past 4yrs now with literally no help from his mother who chose to leave to do drugs and sleep around. He is on medicaid and she gets over $400 in food stamps and does not help me with anything. I've done it all with help from my family. I wish I could legally adopt him or get legal custody of him but I don't have the money for a lawyer. So I just take care of him and make sure he does well in school. He is a happy kid so I guess I'm doing a pretty good job. He knows he is loved and wanted by me and my family
You don’t need a lawyer to get custody you just need proof of all the stuff you’ve been doing and all the stuff she has not been, you can represent yourself with the worst case scenario they decline you and best case they subpoena her to be there, and if she doesn’t come she gets a warrant for her arrest and if she comes you’ll get ordered legal guardian and she’ll get ordered to pay child support, you definitely do not have to have a lawyer

Or you can represent yourself for free
You do not need a lawyer. Document everything, evidence evidence evidence

You can go to the DCFS off and sign up for kinship care its sort of support for the child saying you take care of him it also will automatically sign up the bilogical mother and father for child support and will automatically cut her off her food stamps or take at least him off of her stamps then you can sign up for your own food stamps with him on it if you wish to do so I've seen it done so many times ik it's be hard when the parent is getting all the benefits while your taking care of the child all along
You don’t need a lawyer take it to family court provided receipts of everything yu do for him it’s a process but you’ll get him or you can find her n just ask her to sign away her rights to you making you primary guardian of him it’ll be easy tht way to
alot of single mothers but there is also a ton of single fathers and a ton of grandparents who take care of the sons kids so the ex can be all she wants to be except a parent.. i remember when being a mother was a sacred task now i guess it is just a hobby now

When one of my girlfriends lived in Switzerland she and her husband divorced. In Switzerland the spouse who receives child support can demand receipts and/or proof that the money is being spent on the child. This ensures that the money (separate from spousal support) is not being used to "subsidize" the mother's fiscal responsibilities.
The ex-wife looks a lot older then her ex- husband. I thought she was his mother.
So admire that you make the mother pay as well. When my son was small, judges would not make his father pay. Glad kids get proper support now.

@@jeremyskinner4852 not judge Vonda but yes any one can file for custody... it can't just be superficial reasons. Establish paternity (required most likely if unwed) and then you have a legal right to fight.
I feel like she should also reimburse the grandmother for the months of child support that she was receiving from the father according to how long the child

This is kinda what my husband is going through. He has 2 daughters 13 and 14 and they have joint custody. We stay gone all the time because of work and he pays their mother child support. Last yr the 13 yo stayed with his mom, because she retired, major of the time and practically moved in and the 14 yo went over there occasionally but was mostly home with mom. The thing is, we were giving his mom the same amount his child support is to their mother to take care of them while they were over there and decided to stop it because we pretty much were paying double child support and more! Both of them are at the point where they would rather live with grandma for various reasons so we would rather pay her the cs instead of their mother!

I was paying $1,500, an went back to live with my ex at the time...I did eventually get full custody in 08 didn't open a petition for support from her... Now they're older...27,24,21🤔

If the child/children are being taken care of by another person besides one of the parents should be the one to receive child support for the child/children
I'm a single mom so to hear her complain that she's a single mom yet the daughter don't live with her .... I just can't imagine her mindset. That's honestly sad and she seems so detached as if she doesn't care about the child even just cares about a check. She's a mockery to the single moms who don't get support but we still do everything we have to do.

They would only pay the same amount if they made the same amount at their job. Child support is based on a calculation so depending on what’s made, that determines the child support amount.

I hv a unique situation where I pay child support and my son now lives with me going on 9 months. His father has sole custody but has decided he no longer wants to raise him and asked me to come and pick up my son. He said tht he would reimburse me but has not. Im wanting joint custody, standard visitation, child support and reimbursement for support the time my son has been with me. Hope this works out!

Miss Sincere i have signed a possession affidavit with the attorney general. My court date was June 12 and they gave me a possessory credit towards my child support and terminated it. Still working on custody and visitation bc none of that was discussed due to his father not being in agreeance.
