I can confirm what Ernst said about people coming just to see Cavan: we had a stranger in our ST row who kept very loudly yelling for Cavan, banging the empty seat in front or himself and, generally, making a scene. I wanted to ask him to calm down and just enjoy the great game we were witnessing.
Definitely appreciated having Tanner’s perspective on operations, intentions, and experience. His responses were quite informative for those us looking to devour more than great footwork, shots and saves from the talent. I’m all for a long view and I hope it proves to be highly successful, which 15 years in we can safely say we’d like those successes about now haha. Looking forward to seeing what Tanner and his team unveil with each window.
This great but I still want to see Ernst field questions from reporters
You can replace Jack McGlynn with a sub $5 million dollar player... This is marketing speech as the Union look to sell him.
The last two MLS matches prove this easily. While even a sub $1 million player will suffice, we would all like a $1+ million player replacement instead.
Knowing the Union will never by a $5 million dollar player, and rarely a $2 million player. This is a way to calm the fans in a false narrative.
This player we pay under $1 million will cost us $5 million to replace! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You did not build the first team to sustain player losses. Julian Carranza fell into you lap. You don't scout to find Carranza's. Yu have a weak ownership if you can't sustain an academy as well as find talented players for the first team. You did not build on the MLS Cup appearance. You can't keep asking the fans to ignore what they see around the league. This was too choreographed.
Curtin > Tanner
Where is that ambition now? This tool has sold any player of value he can.
How about serving tap water in a glass rather than adding to plastic waste by serving bottled water?
