One of the most informative and educational video I’ve seen. Maybe you can also show us videos of you servicing the patrol or performing any type of work on it. You have a great presentation.
Gday George, Thanks a lot mate for your reply and feedback, I greatly appreciate it. I’m glad you found the video helpful. I’ll look into other videos mate. Thanks again. Cheers Tim.
Tim Bates 4wd Adventures it certainly helps to be aware of your truck. Beauty of big tyres, helpful too. I will quite often just point the tyres straight over the rock or whatever the obstacle may be if it looks big enough to potentially grab something underneath.
Tim Bates 4wd Adventures appreciate the video mate. As a younger fella it’s fantastic to see these things from the fellas like yourself that have travelling this great country for decades and passing on your absolutely valuable tips and tricks. It’s good to know that I’m doing things the right way too. Haha. Legend.
Another great video Tim. I now drive an IFS and is a bit of a worry with all the low down parts. I do miss the solid front axle. That is a very showroom clean rear axle you have.
Peter Gday mate, I spray the under side with tyre shine to help keep it clean. Yeah the IFS fronts are quite a bit different to the solid axles 4wds. Thanks mate for your feedback. Cheers Tim.
G'day Alex, Sorry for the late reply mate, i've been away making a couple of new videos. Thats great you are finding some of the older videos still helpful today. I'll have a new inside run down of the Patrol soon. Thanks mate for your reply and feedback. Cheers Tim.
G'day Bruce, Sorry for the late reply mate, i've been away making a couple of new videos. Thanks mate, i greatly appreciate your reply and feedback. Cheers Tim.

G'day Jim, Sorry for the late reply mate, i've been away making a couple of new videos. Yeah i must look into those for the front of my Patrol. I have used the front hook a few times. Thanks mate for your reply. Cheers Tim.
G'day mate, Not something i will ever need to warrant the extra height. You'd need to be driving some pretty challenging 4WD tracks, where extra ground clearance is required. I know a few mates with them, and they love them. Hope that helps mate. Cheers Tim.
G'day mate, Sorry for the late reply mate, i've been away making a couple of new videos. Yeah it is a bugger of a job. I did both diffs on a mine a few months ago. Good to get it done though. Thanks mate for your reply. Cheers Tim.
Too many people but a vehicle of any type and really have no idea of it. I think everyone should get to know their vehicle not just driving and how it handles but know how to at least do basic repairs and maintenance. The amount of people that wouldn't even know how to change a wheel if they got a flat is astounding. You don't need to be a mechanic to know the basics.
G'day Mick, Sorry for the late reply mate, i've been away making a couple of new videos. Yeah thats it mate. A few basic mechanics of your 4wd is pretty handy sometimes. Even the simple one of knowing how to change a tyre. Thanks heaps for your reply mate. Cheers Tim.
@@timbates4wdadventures looking forward to the new videos mate. All good about the delay. I think for any vehicle, 4x4 or not needs some basic knowledge. I've had a new video drop today and will be filming more on the weekend.
l spent alot of time learning how to strip and maintain my rigs, the best thing is they are older type 4x4 and don't need specialist tools. Like most of us we got to allow for breakdowns when we are out bush. What would be handy at home would be a hoist.
G'day Greg, Sorry for the late reply mate, i've been away making a couple of new videos. Thats very handy if you know how to fix a lot of things, just in times if you are stuck out in the bush somewhere. I do wish i had a hoist sometimes. Lol Thanks for your reply mate. Cheers Tim.
Hey Tim. Another great vid featuring the mighty patrol. Might I add to check for any fluid leaks, any grass or debris that could start a fire from hot running gear and the inside walls of the tyres. Keep up the great vids mate 👍
G'day Jamie, Sorry for the late reply mate, i've been away making a couple of new videos. Thanks mate for those extra items to check while under your 4WD. The dry grasses is a big problem if travelling through Central Australia. Thanks for your reply and feedback mate. Cheers Tim.
Baths ka I really need this video I just got me a patrol second hand and I’m still learning . Mines lifted 4” and I’m getting a lot of body roll still trying to figure out how to prevent it especially down the road
G'day mate, Sorry for the late reply mate, i've been away making a couple of new videos. As Ben said below could be worth checking. 4 In lift is high as it is, have you considered lowing it down to a 3in or 2 in lift. Thanks for your reply mate. Cheers Tim.

That’s it mate.
Bigger tyres sure do help with missing some objects as they pass under your 4wd.

What do you think about portal axles? Will you recommend it for zd30 ?
