    So my ‘tribe’ is the Pentecostal Charismatic crowd. And I’ve been sitting on the sidelines watching for a while. Needless to say, it hurts to see. They are my close family.
    The heart of what you are talking about transcends tribalism, and reaches into the heart of God, Who loved us so much He was willing to pay the ultimate price.
    So much of what I can see is overwhelmingly awful, but I know there are people whose voices I will never hear whose lives are authentic, who live as lights in increasing darkness, who are in churches and out of churches all around the world.
    I come here and see proof of this, with what and how you both talk about things. You have conversations that are authentically who you are , loving Jesus and loving people. And I can’t say how much this encourages me.
    Thank you Alan and Lesa
    Bless you both and your family. Jo.

    ❤️ Each of these are Excellent topics with excellent points, specifically about the Sonya Massey and the evangelical topics imo. The world does what the world Is Expected to do, But It does not mean that It's condoned. Absolutely right Christians should be In an uproar about all of each one you mentioned, porn, child slavery, the foster system, homlessness, Jesus even spoke and speaks about Feeding the Hungry, Giving to the Poor, taking In the Orphans In His Word, and If Evangelicalism Is truly like that/or If they have been like that, then that Is just 😢 But at the Least Trump has Or Seems to have way Less Anti-Christ Agendas though. It's also so sad about what happened with Sonya Masseey 😢🙏🏾❤️

    It’s interesting to me that we’re generally of the same mind on these issues.
    I always wonder why we always have such an uproar when the world does what the world does. We are silent on the things that we do that we ought not to be doing. There’s a sense of entitlement that we have that is counter to what Jesus said our expectations should be. Something has warped our view of the world… we’ve muffled out the words of Jesus and amplified those of the people around us

      You’re correct. Something has warped our view. We’ve adopted a different gospel in my opinion.

    My husband is white and this is one of the reasons we do NOT go to the same church. The Evil-gelicals won't talk about our folks but preach the house down after DJT attempt.

    We are out of touch so we put up with injustice and say it’s a doctrine issue, smh 😢so true bro, it’s shameful 💯

    What does the Sonya Massey incident have to do with racism?

    • @churchdropout
      @churchdropout  Місяць тому

      Not racism but race. These types of injustices don’t tend to be spoken about is evangelical circles.

    • @Serve24
      @Serve24 Місяць тому

      @@churchdropout Why do you feel like this has to do with race? You think they wouldn’t have shot her if she was white?

    • @churchdropout
      @churchdropout  Місяць тому

      To be clear, I’d rather no one be hurt by senseless acts. But to answer the question, truthfully, I’m not sure they would have if she was white. But that’s not my point. I’m talking about how the evangelical community responds to injustices when it’s with people of color or more specifically black folks.
      When injustices happen like this to black folks, the church is silent in addressing these issues publicly while other issues are spoken about freely. Evangelicalism has a long history of ignoring issues relating to the black community, particularly because evangelicalism has been complicit in this treatment historically.

    • @Serve24
      @Serve24 Місяць тому

      @@churchdropout So you think that the cop shot the woman because she was black? I mean, every Christian I know would say, hands down, that the cop was wrong in what he did, but I just don’t see how it has anything to do with race. (If anything, I think he overreacted to her mental illness).
      Can you help me better understand your perspective?

    • @churchdropout
      @churchdropout  Місяць тому

      I was answering your question. I can’t tell you the motive. My issue is with how evangelicals deal with these types of situations.
