Alesana was everything to me in high school this brings so much nostalgia :'(
Same. It's a great band. One of my bros and I use to listen to this in our music class in high school, whenever the teacher would give us free days to do music appreciation. We just got to listen to music using headphones all class period. There were not enough computers for us all to get our own, so we had to share computers and headphones. Thankfully, I had a friend who had the same favorite band. I loved that class. I was sad when that teacher quit to go back to college. Our new music teacher was a pompous crotch jockey who got triggered over profanity to the extent he would scream at people for it. The other teacher let us drop the f-bomb and did not give a crap. I remember one time the computer was acting up and I accidentally shouted (I tried to do a whisper yell) "What the f*ck?!" And rather than griping at me he just came over and fixed it for me. The greatest teacher I have ever had. The psycho teacher also griped at the poor students for not being able to go out and buy dress pants for a choir concert, even though we were going to wear robes that covered up most of our bodies'.
It hits different as an adult.

This album is based after Dante's Inferno, which is a very famous piece of literature about a mans journey through the seven circles of Hell. That's why this video shows many "Santanic" things in it.

Bryan12Parkour The pieces of literature that they wrote about were not written by them. They just referenced them in their albums.
This album, A Place Where The Sun Is Silent is based off of Dante's Inferno which was written hundreds of years ago. Alesana took the different things from that story and based the songs around those events.
Their album The Emptiness is based off of Edgar Allan Poe's poem Annabel Lee which is about a man who's still infatuated with his lover even after she's dead.
Their album Confessions is based after Madeleine L'Engle's book series The Time Quintet which involves a lot of time travel
Their album On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax is based on Greek mythology
And their album Where Myth Fades to Legend is based off of Grimm Brothers stories such as Cinderella and Fitcher's Bird

Alesana's music music is so theatrical and artistic. Everyone who calls it emo and demonic is basically just stupid. Read some literature and you'd understand what each album is about.

Nelman Vasquez marilyn manson isnt satanic either he is an atheist the satanic stuff is just an act of publicity many hard rock musicians use satanic themes, typically symbols but manson takes it a bit further, from what i understand he somewhat started doing the satanism act as an act of poking fun at the people who disliked him and called him satanic due to his use of profanity in his music and the way he dresses and wears makeup. although the hatred from those who oppose him is not the sole reason for the satanic act it is part of it from what i have heard, either way he is not a satanist unless you are one of the people that consider atheism as a form of satanism like some people do. also manson hates religion because he believes it is corrupt and causes people to discriminate against each other, and doesnt allow people to be free.

what I love about this song is that it really makes the screaming elements in the song fit in more mainstream. its like another step in the evolution of post hardcore music. its a very sophisticated and well balanced song. plus the music video is awesome.

Music is meant to be interpreted in different ways depending on how you look at it. If you've read the story behind the album, this is about temptation and its curse to us. So no, it's not satanic. Dante's Inferno was like this.
