  • A quick and dirty stirling engine, running at about 90 rpm.
    Made from a preserving jar, bicyle spokes and a compact disc.

    How did you make the seal where the rod goes through the lid for the displacer ? Also what is the displacer made of ?

    Is the jar still intact? If it is, i'm going to build one just like yours. Cutting glass bottles to make cylinders is no fun :D

      eelcogg Yes, it is still intact. But for another engine also made from a glass jar it broke the 2nd time I ran the engine. I think you need some heat-resistant (i.e. low thermal expansion) glass for a durable machine.
