As formas são um registro técnico. Isso vale para os Taolu, Kata, Poomsae, etc.
A partir delas podemos retirar inúmeras técnicas para a defesa pessoal, a partir da interpretação. (Bunkai, Bunhae).
Não somente defesas e ataques, mas agarres, quedas, chaves e muito mais!
Alguns instrutores ensinam isto. Mas são poucos. A arte, porém, fica muito mais completa se fizer este trabalho.
