Love the skant, as it gives the practicallity of pants, but the drama of a big full skirt. I got one that is troussers with a 3/4 pleated skirt that can be buttoned on last season, and love it and get soo many compliments… and at 56 it is actually slimming…😊❤
Hi Sally…oh my goodness, this 63 year old will not be wearing a skant. I’ll stay with more classic stylish pieces. Love me a good leopard print in moderation lol. I also adore chiffon and very pleased we will be seeing it in 2025. A basic pant or skirt with a beautiful chiffon blouse is so lovely. And I agree….no peep toes for me either. Have a wonderful day 😊🇨🇦🍁
I'm loving the boho feminine look as I was born in the early 60's and all that was a thing when I was 10 right through the 70's as I became a young, skinny teenager and LOVED that hippy vibe. Peep toes (I had some, they hurt my toes and pushed against my cuticles)....never again. Leopard print, I have a satin Ocelot print blouse, which I quite like as the colours are muted with beiges and greys and the print is blurred and not too sharp, so I can wear with either my taupe, chocolate or black faux leather trousers, and I think that would be the largest area of animal print I would go to. I think what amuses me is I've seen all of these fashions come and go on repeat at least 5 times in my 61 years....we used to think we'd be wearing tin- foil spacesuits when we were asked in the 60's....I'll never do that one! 😂
I just can't with the skant🤣 I do like utility and cargo wear. I've bought a few beautiful utility jumpsuits from Athleta in burgandy and black. They are fitted and don't look like a sloppy afterthought. I also picked up a great denim cargo maxi skirt from the Gap that looks so different from other cargo skirts.
Yes, while I wouldn't normally wear skants, I did see a couple of outfits in a Milan video of flowy assymetrical dresses over lightweight pants that looked good. (Not so good for winter.)
I think it was the 5Os where women wore a cigarette style pant with a full flowy dress which fastened at the waist and matched the pants. A very elegant and feminine look. Not like the ones you showed however which are mismatched and ridiculous looking
Well I'm not sure what I think about this style. I am wondering if it wasn't Jean Paul Gaultier who first did this style quite a number of years ago. The thing is I don't wear skirts in the winter because I am too cold but if I wore a pair of trousers underneath I might wear the skirt you see.
Nope to the skant. I will either wear a skirt or pants. Not both at the same time. I’m 65, and I can imagine the looks I would get at the grocery store here where I live. I did buy a leopard print blouse. I had some shoes. But I got rid of them. I won’t be wearing peep toe shoes. My toes are not the best part of me anyway. I think I have some cargo pants in my closet.
Hi Sally, I didn't find this cargo trousers so nice because of the lower down pockets which actually are making your thighs look bigger. Moreover, 7/8 length-trousers, also called "Capri"-trousers always do visually shorten the length of the legs. Skants, asymmetrical skirts or blouses, likewise "peeptoe"-shoes are nothing for me. I always found them horrible because, strangely enough, especially obese women with ugly feet preffered them, so nothing for dainty feet like I have ( size 4-4 1/2 ). Burgundy is a nice colour mixed with navy, black or light caramel brown velvet trousers, even with burgundy velvet trousers. I have got a silk blouse with leopard pattern which I wear with a silk leopard pattern scarf, black velvet trousers, black leather belt, black socks and black "college loafer"-shoes. By the way: I'm 62 years old, but still with my original gold-blonde hair which I've dyed in my life never ever. Dear greetings from a stormy and cold Dublin ( I also live in Munich-Germany ), Suschka.🎄❄️🙋♀️😃❄️🎄
Pants under pants have been around for about 20 years. Some people liked last year's trend for an apron style partial wrap skirt, cute layer opportunity. Now seems to be a variation on maxi skirt proportions. Very creative; not for everyone. Shark bite shirts ARE symmetrical; look up symmetrical. One shoulder and other non-,mirror-image placements can be interesting. High-,low hems can be problematic when you can see the wrong side of the fabric if the inside is not lined, printed or just rough looking. It looks cheap if the fabric is not reversible. The new washable faux suedes are amazing, practical and luxurious. Nubuck suedes are water resistant and have been around a long time. Cargo pants pockets are classic bulk builders, especially if you put anything into the pockets. Cargos are a trend ONLY if they have wide or barrel legs. Tapered legs are very dated looking. Active wear is clothing that facilitates high levels of exercise and is very functional in terms of stretch, range of motion and moisture wicking. Athletic wear is worn to participate in sports, e.g., soccer jerseys or hockey jerseys. Sportswear is more akin to non-formal business casual attire where a sports cost could be worn with trousers of a non-matching fabric. Athlesiure is a style of lounge wear that mimics athletic warm-up suits. Banded cuffs and stripes are typically incorporated into this style, but trending versions omit banded ankle cuffs and tend to have wider pant legs.
don't like the skants, reminds me of when was a young schoolgirl, we weren't allowed to wear pants, unless it cold and we wore them under our skirt! this was a public school, no uniforms!! Thankfully it really changed by the time I was in eighth grade, and the girls wore slacks all the time. Note: if you work slacks or jeans on picture day they wouldn't let you stand in the front row, haha!
When I was young, we wore pants under our dresses to stay warm while walking to school in the cold weather and removed them upon arrival to meet the dress code. Practical, certainly not stylish.
Skant not on your nelly ! It's trends that are designed to make you part with your hard earned cash.Leopard print is a Bet Lynch vibe.Classics are best timeless well made quality pieces cannot go wrong.
The skant stinks. I love my skorts in the summer but not long pants under a skirt. Too much fabric and bulk for me. Yeah, I'm not sure womanly is politically correct anymore for those who cannot tell you what a woman is. Not for me because I know what a woman is.

I’m so happy you like it.
I get inspired by the Atanga twins short videos; they’re so creative
I will try a skant!
😁
At 64 I rock a midi length shirt dress from WildFang over flowy knit wide leg trousers.

Such a great comment. I agree nothing is ever new . I adore the boho look too🥰

Oh yes this sounds fabulous ! 🤗
No way to the skant!!!
😂 I know !!
Thanks for all the information, quite helpful. (And entertaining!)
So glad you enjoyed it 🤗
Look at some East Indian outfits. They often wear pants with super long dress-like tops.
Yes very true but they look beautiful very different to a kilt over a pair of baggy jeans 👀

@ yes very different to baggy jeans and a tartan skirt over the top

It’s a strange style for sure😳 Thank you so much for your lovely contribution ❤️
Even two thinner layers create warmth; add tights or leggings and you’ll be toasty
Who knew I was a fashion trend setter in grade school when I was forced to wear pants under my skirts to school due to the cold weather. 😂
😂 fabulous !
It’s a trend with benefits 😂
I have sniggered through most of this 😂. I am totally in agreement with you. ♥️
Right?! 😅
Another great video! The skant is an abomination! It wouldn't look good on anyone! I'm going to stick with the classics that never go out of style.
Exactly! I’m right there with you 🤗
Looks funny? Skorts are one thing, skant is something else. As a senior person, it's not my style.
Nope not mine either

Thanks you should get yourself a UA-cam channel !!!
Great point about visible under fabric in asymmetrical skirts

I recall the same

@@lisagriffiths1343 yes!! Agreed ❤️
Skant for the stick thin under 30 perhaps, not for the elegant well put together lady😮
Agreed
Hard no to the skant!
😅 yep me too
Skant? Ridiculous 😂
Right?! 😂
Ugg
Not for me😉

I love your comment thank you. I also love being a woman and being womanly 😅 we rule 🥰
