- We made it out to Mid Ohio Sports Car Course for Gridlife Mid Summer Meet. The last time we were here, the car was pretty much stock and I was able to run a 1:52. The goal for this weekend was to get into the mid 40s!
Huge thanks to Dewey and Peter for hopping in my car and giving me the push I needed to go faster!

Carrying some serious speed there. Nice laps. Time for a hans.
Thanks, Graham! I've got a hans, just trying to find some time to install my roll bar and harness. Will probably be sometime within the next couple weeks.
@@KevinVo Looking forward to THAT tech tip Tuesday...
@@gcranston83 that stuff will be on this channel :D
Nice driving Kevin! I’m enjoying the videos, wouldn’t mind them being a bit longer.
Thanks, Steven! I'll keep that in mind for the next ones!
Huge improvement from a year ago! Keep up the good work
We're going to be on the stream next year!!
I have gone off three times in my so far and luckily where I am the runoff grass is extremely forgiving but it's always a scary experience. You will get the car sorted in no time brother!
Do you have a video on your camper set up on the truck and how you like it for track days ? :)
Thanks for the support, Ray!
I've got one video right now on the tent: ua-cam.com/video/PtMafJAzxVM/v-deo.html
I'll be doing another video going through my whole tow setup soon.
It happens. At my track, I see people hit the wall every year. Never track your car unless you can easily take a complete loss on it.
It's only a matter of time when you're pushing the limits!
Hey man enjoying the vids, just wanted to know what lap timer app you are using?
I'm using a Garmin Catalyst. Before I had that, I was using Harry's Lap Timer.
Didn't get a chance to say what's up! I was there also in my turbo FRS
Aw darn, next time! Hope you had a good time!
@@KevinVo it was amazing ! Already planning for next time
It's not often you see a MX-5 drag race people down the straight, it's usually the Mustangs and Corvettes, but that is frustrating.
Miata guy isn't what you call a considerate driver. On my last track day, a driver was in a 5 series BMW and was very slow in the corners but could power it down the straights. Palmer Motorsports Park is fun but with people not giving point bys on the few straights, it just becomes a traffic jam.
Then why go with expensive car at track sessions?
There's always going to be some of those people. Thinking back, I should've just went to the hot pits and asked for space.
@@KevinVo It's hard to do when you are in a groove like you were, but the positives would have been space and cooling things down for a second haha.
Congrats. How do you like the Garmin? Does it use CAN Bus or ODB2 port access?
I love the Garmin! It's great for someone who likes to have a visual of what they can be doing better or what they've done well. It actually only relies on GPS and does not plug into the car's ECU.
@@KevinVo Good info for sure! Maybe next season. I will stick with my ghetto setup for now :)
Are you running 5w-30?
Yes, 5w30 is basically a must if you're going to track this car.
Fucking miatas...lol. jk good job. That vinyl job keeps growing on me and it looks so sick!
